I want to post a new thread in the gambling forum but someone keeps deleting it after i have posted it, why is this ?

Probably because you're posting spam or referral links.

Not sure how moderators actions towards you is relevant to their (possible) lack of action towards others.

It only looked strange when one thread was deleted but the other not. And my post pointing that out was deleted then by a moderator. It looked a bit... strange. Cheesy

Its a single example of a thread that at least appears helpfull / a lot of work that was edited rather than removed. I still dont see where is this is a big problem.

Now it seems there is no problem anymore with the refids deleted out.

What SebastianJu describes does not sound constructive to me, thats why I was wondering whether it actually happens that often or they just feel like it does.
I understand. However it is pretty obvious that he is not aware of just how much referral spam is being deleted daily. People who report often like you are more aware of this. Also there is always going to be a difference between referral left by newbies and older members due to the fact that a lot more people are watching newbies and can delete their posts.

I don't know it of course. Though i was wondering what was going on with that poster. One refspamthread deleted, the other not. And then the strange thing with my deleted post where i pointed out that there is another refspamthread from that user. Guess finally i have a possible explaination for both things. My post was deleted because grue wanted to merge two posts of mine but copied wrongly. And the second thread was not deleted because a mod thought it should stay when the reflinks are gone.

tl;dr where is the ref link again? Moderators probably edited the post.
I'm guessing that https://1broker.com/m/r.php had some sort of ID on the end which made it a referral link. As you said, Mods likely edited the post.

Yes, i was wondering the same when i looked at the thread. Since normally reflinks have a ?=243 at the end. I'm relatively sure these were real reflinks. In fact it probably wouldn't make sense either to post a link that goes to the 1broker page that works up reflinks. So the links really have to be edited i guess. Maybe a mod thought that the tutorial can stay when the reflinks go away.

Never seen ref spam not get deleted, do you have an example of this?

User Indamuck created a tutorial for trading at 1Broker. I have read the first part and it was so basic info that it was practically worthless because everyone can see it himself when registering on 1Broker. Though there were reflinks everywhere. It looks like he edited the post later and took out a lot reflinks but still there are a lot in there. Normally these links are followed by a number, i don't know why it's missing. I think there was one when he posted it but i'm not sure. At least that /m/r.php is the url to the refferalscript. Don't know how it works without a number.

Since the tutorial was nothing more a user could create who just registered on there i waited for the second part. He had claimed he will post it later that day. Nothing happened. I asked in the thread and nothing happened. I sent him a pm but he did not react. Nothing after a month.

The tutorial is here, by the way: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1102823.new;topicseen#new

Looks like grue edited them out. Last edit 16.08.2015 by grue, took a few weeks though.

moderator note: referral link removed
https://1broker.com/m/r.php

Its difficult to know whether a post is helpfull or not. E.g. I could not judge the post because I dont use the service in question.

Then i found this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1146165.new#new where Indamuck claimed he was able to identify Moderator Cyrus being an Ass Clown. While reading that thread i came to the impression that the tutorial of 1Broker was deleted and i agreed with Cyrus decision since it was really nothing more than refspam. Only then i realized that it was another "tutorial" he was speaking about because the 1broker tutorial still existed. So he did that more than once. At least 2 Tutorials filled with reflinks, one thread deleted because of that and a second part not coming and ignoring everyone asking for it. Looks like the purpose was met by placing the reflinks.

I made a post about that in that thread, claiming that Indamuck did that more than one time and that the other thread still exists. What happened? My post was deleted. Cheesy Funny isn't it? Me claiming that he spammed more reflinks were deleted by a moderator. Which brought up the question if Indamuck somehow is related to staff. I made a post about it, second post in thread is the deleted message, here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/why-was-that-post-deleted-1156938

No staff reacted. I pm'ed this moderator bear... don't remember the name now but did not get an answer. Later i contacted cyrus about my deleted posts but he did not delete the "tutorial".

Now when i see the last post in that thread, it's mine, there is a line and the text copied again. I'm pretty sure that i did not draw that line and cyrus claimed that grue had edited that post the last time. So in light of that an explaination might be that i posted 2 posts one after another. Grue might have wanted to put them together, drew a line but accidentally copied the content of the first post and not the one from the second post under the line. Then deleted the second post. Might be an explaination...

Don't know what to say about the tutorial part.

Make sure that your thread follows all the rules and hasn't already been posted.
What thread do you want to make?
I was making a thread to promote a advertising program i just joined in the investor based games section.
I can't see what is wrong with what i posted, are referral links not allowed in that section or something ?
Referral links are not allowed anywhere in this forum in a post. You can only have them in your signature.

That's the theory. I know a user who posts regularly "Tutorials" filled with reflinks in each second sentence. He promises the next part comes soon but it never comes. Requests are ignored. And the first tutorial is so easy that nobody needs it anyway. Even when the mods are informed, they don't care.

So either they don't care generally or only by certain persons.

Never seen ref spam not get deleted, do you have an example of this?

Such situations are very rare. I'd say that 99.9% of referral links get deleted. Those that have not been deleted have most likely not been seen by moderators. However, sometimes when we're talking about something extremely constructive, then a referral link might be allowed.

Would be great if whatever mod is deleting it to just say what is wrong with it instead of just deleting it every time i re-post it.

Do you think mods have the time to message and argue with hundreds of people everyday about the rules?  If your thread keeps getting repeatedly deleted you should be able to figure out there's something wrong and stop doing it.

If you see an investor-based game and want to promote it, the only board suitable is investor-based game, or more likely, Trashcan. It is because an investor-based game won't become only gambling and it don't suit in that board. Also, re-posting of a service is not allowed here, and that's exactly what you're doing.

Threads or posts with referral links are almost always removed (99.99% of the time).

The same question i asked in this community few months earlier,

The Answer i got from many reputable member is that "You can use your ref link, but with ref link you will have to use non ref link." And i did the same in Gambling Section and Nothing Happened to my post.

Thanks

~ OTS ~
I don't know why people say this, but no it's not true. Spam is spam, doesn't matter if you add a non ref link. Welsh's post is correct.

You are allowed to put your refferal link on your signature
So, when you make promotion, ask users to join through refferal link on your signature
And you might want to use link shortener, so every user can't know the refferal link

Any you should know it already when you join this forum

Still referral spam.

If you pay people to register under your ref link it works on games and rounds, also sometimes when people find new promos or giveaways they give their ref link and a non ref link, seems to be allowed aswell.

Still referral spam.

just to clarify... i am allowed to put my ref link in my signature and suggest users use it in my main post?

Do not make topics or replies just to share your referral link. Whether it's in your sig, avatar, personal message, profile, within the post itself, or tattooed on your forehead is irrelevant.

Edited for clarity.

Post in meta and ask.  If you are reposing over an over would not surprise me if you get a ban.  Only staff can remove entire topic.

So ask in meta.  But chances are you are already in trouble if you have been reposing over and over.  I'm assuming your using multiple accounts are any of them showing a ban?
