Crypto-betting sites are also plagued with a lot of scams.

It is increasing everyday. But some gamblers because they want to get rich quick ignore all the warning signs which is too bad.

I don't like KYC but I'd rather play on a gambling platform that enforces this and is already established in the scene rather than a new casino with lots of promotions but doesn't have anything to back itself up when it comes to legitimacy.
I hate KYCs but I'd rather choose to do it at a reputable casino than not because it like choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. If you run away from a reputable casino because you don't want to fall into the hands of scammers only to get scammed at a non-kyc casino.

Quote
Of course, platforms with KYC can come clean and still do an exit scam if they'd like. But I guess even without these signs or tips that you have posted, people can do a bit of research about the platform and avoid getting scammed if they wanted to.
People prefer to get scammed first then do their research about the casino platform after and not before. That's why scams will increase.

Find a trusted gambling platform. Big number of gambling sites were available. It have become an easy task to choose the reputed and the trusted one that provides good number of games.
If you stay in an environment where are many gamblers who have been playing in a casino long before you picked the interest, do not be too proud to ask them to recommend to you a casino that they can trust and what is popular among their circle, and after their recommendation, you also have to double check. If it is a new casino that you cannot still trust, you can come to this platform to ask other gamblers who will be good at spotting a scam casino than you are. Do not be too excited to try out new casinos at every opportunity, train yourself not be easily attracted by huge bonuses, rewards and offer.

Where you find attractive offers, always avoid that place. Attractive offers are always used by the scammers to attract potential gamblers. Now when they deposit money there, their funds gets locked and hence they lose their money. You can stay safe, if you greed less. Always go for casinos which are present in the market for long time. They might not have the best offers, but your funds will be safe. And you can be saved from scams.

Instead of totally avoid the attractive offers, you can check the background of that website. If the website is real, their is no wrong to proceed with the website. If the offer is most attractive like bonus will be 50 percentage of the deposit means, this is impossible by the biggest casino. So you can skip the offer like this blindly and no need to check the background. The maximum deposit bonus will be 5-15% by the real website. The scam website will block your withdraw after the deposit was made, mostly they won’t allow to play the game. Some will allow to play after deposit and allow to made a big win,at the end they will block the withdrawal.

Gamble on the most trusted and reputable online casino for you. As scamming online becomes rampant, then stay away from new online casinos that are offering too good to be true prizes. Although I’m not saying this in general as there are still reliable new online casinos but hey, let’s face the reality that a lot of them are built to scam people particularly those new gamblers that still want to explore different online casinos. So stick to those casinos that have positive reviews and in which you have also experienced playing from them.

New online casinos that give huge bonuses in their announcements should also be suspicious, they're just scamming new users. Make a deposit and can't withdraw it. There are many new casinos coming up, but I would recommend using existing casinos with a high reputation such as Duelbit, Roobet, Stake etc., as they are the most recommended at the moment. There are no casino platforms that just give huge bonuses for no reason and seem unreasonable. If there is such a casino then we need to be vigilant as scammers might be behind the casino.

That's how they can lure people and we should be suspicious on why they give that since no generous casino would offer huge bonus as easy as that. This is why I don't usually go to new casino because don't want to experience bad experience with them. Much advisable to newbies to go with old reputable casino since they are more true to the promotions they placed and anyone can make sure that once they win they can get their prize without getting any big issues.

Avoiding online gambling can not make you not to be scammed, the only way you can avoid scam is investing on a platform you know that doesn't have a good reputation, secondly I believe in gambling you have to follow two things and one in gambling you have be aware of the site rules and regulations and particularly the aspect of verification of kyc, when you have not followed the instructions of kyc and site restricted you of not getting withdrawal you will look as if you have being restricted of getting your fund's and it's  a scam, many people avoid kyc because of exposing their information data in online, but but given data of yourself you have to check the sites that you are dealing with. Scam is real but when you are over protective in scam you will be victim of it. A gamblers fall victim of scam in gambling websites for a site who is new.

Whenever you enter the platform it is good to look the Url to confirm that you're into the right destination. Go through the terms and conditions and play accordingly. Know your limits if you doesn't want KYC. Don't use VPN and gamble which may land you in risk as the platform doesn't support gambling from specific locations and the usage of VPN.

A licensed casino will need to combat against money laundering, calling a casino that asking phone number, ID number etc is scam is really not make sense lol.

There's a chance the casino can sell the gambler's identity, but it's up to the gambler to choose to gamble on KYC casino or No KYC casino. After all they're still a centralized casino that will record the gambler's IP address, there's no such privacy in centralized casino.

It's really important to be wary about the scams and schemes circulating online. It's good to be aware and vigilant rather than cry over spilled milk later on due to negligence. Hence, it's really good that a player will take note of his digital footprints to trace whether the information you shared is still safe or not.

For me, nothing beats playing on reputable website as to being careful to not fall into scams. Since it's becoming inevitable to have a verification or KYC, the least you could do is to only sign up to trusted websites if you will undergo the verification process to ensure that your private information will be kept with confidentiality and not be sold on third parties. There's a risk, but compared to signing up to unknown sites, it's much lesser. And we can say that your info will be safer. Still be always on your guard though to avoid any preventable instances while gambling online.

For me, it will still be about the reputation of the gambling site. Being anonymous or pseudonymous is still risky especially if we are talking about large amounts of cryptocurrencies. So, I think I'd rather stick with a business that built its name from scratch and ended up getting a high reputation because of its trusted service and a lot of good feedback. Take their KYC and just abide by the law. It's not that I like leaking my information but these are rules that gambling sites need to obey to avoid money laundering schemes. It's not like they are just doing it for fun or to mess with us but the government said so and that way they could continue their business.
Sure, I might like testing a fully crypto-friendly non-KYC gambling site but I don't think I will end up depositing large amounts because it's too risky.

The thing is... if you do not provide legit information when you sign on.. and it turns out that the casino is legit.. then you might not be able to withdraw later on.. when they validate your KYC information.

This has happened to me before... I created a "test account" on a legit site and I deposited funds to test it... and I won a large amount.. then they asked for further KYC information and I was "red faced" because I provided fake information when I created it for the "test"

I now do proper research before I create an account to prevent that in the future.  Grin

The safest way to avoid scams when gambling online is to make sure we play gambling at a trusted crypto casino. Nothing else but we will be tempted to play at other crypto casinos we find while browsing the internet. These casinos know how to give us temptation or people who want to find other crypto casinos. Indeed, we can register using only an email and start depositing some money to play gambling but later, when we get a big win and want to withdraw the winnings, we will be asked to do KYC. And this is what scammers use to start defrauding gamblers in their casinos by still not processing their withdrawals.

And now it's hard to find casinos that allow withdrawals of large amounts of money before we do KYC first, then the casino will process the withdrawal. And if you have found a trusted casino, you can do KYC safely and don't need to worry about anything.

Gamble responsibly
Yep this is always the signs especially if the offer is too good to be true. But often times they do this when a casino is starting like deposit and double. They could turn out to be a legit casino or they are just waiting for the right time to turn into a scam.

Anyone who wants to gamble should just find the most well known casino in crypto because they are usually not scam and forget about bonuses.
If a gambler register on a gambling site and he saw 100% welcome bonus, won't that look to good to be true? Some gambling sites are doing that. But any other thing like that which is too good to be true, the gambler should avoid the site.

But gambling site is not only about this to know if it is a good gambling site or not. As for me, I used reputation and how long a gambling site has been existing before I can use the gambling site. On this forum, I check the amount of money gambling site pump into campaign and how serious they are and start with little amount of money.

If the offer is too good to be true then be skeptical and try not to fall for their trap easily. Most scam casinos nowadays offer too much bonuses and promises just to attract more gamblers. If the offer is too much than usual then try to investigate and do a deep research first. Those who fall for this trap are usually those who are always hunting for bonuses and promotions without doing further research.
If a casino is offering so much, that doesn't mean that they are legit and trusted. No matter where we play and what casino we may choose, we shouldn't forget to do a deep research.

preventing fraud or gambling staying safe I do not think its that complicated. I mean in this forum there are quite a number of online gambling sites or crypto casinos that have a good reputation and have even been recognized by most people in this forum and this can be the best choice to avoid fraud because trusted casinos in this forum have been around for a long time and already have a large community or one might say a large casino. and for KYC issues as I know right now big casinos that are licensed usually have rules for doing KYC even though its only level 1 because these rules are already the policy of the license and I also have a gambling site account here at big crypto casinos and do KYC without having any doubts about selling my personal data because I believe that big crypto casino sites will not sell their customer personal data because they are a big company that will not possibly damage their reputation just for the sake of money even they have already earned a lot of money from the gambling business so it is unlikely that the casino sells data personal property of the customer.

We need to separate between scam casino and fraud in casino.

Scam is when the casino don't want to pay the winning to the gambler, the casino will use many excuses and reasons in order to to make the gambler can't withdraw his winning.

While fraud is associated with illegal activity by the casino, they might be a mixer, sell gambler's KYC, etc.

What if there's a casino want to let the gambler withdraw his winning but they're sell the gambler's KYC? they're not a scam casino, but unethical casino!

Know that KYC is becoming mandatory on online casinos. Even the ones you are thinking that do not require KYC will have withdrawal limit and if exceeded or you won huge amount, you will provide KYC documents.

That's right. Being asked for KYC is becoming more and more common. And if 5 or 6 years ago there were few that did it, now there are few left that do not ask for KYC under any circumstances.

On the other hand, depositing and gambling in a non-KYC casino doesn't get rid of 100% of scams either. They won't sell your personal information but they can make an exit scam. In short, nothing is certain, and to choose a casino it is best to check the forum first to see its reputation and track record.
