Security is the main concern for crypto. But don't just save the private key in the single device whatever you use pc or laptop. Normally people use HDD. It's possible to lose private key specially store in the HDD. One incident happen already happen with my friend. Take print of private key and store it in very safe place. Second thing store it in the pen drive. Just store only private key file and not others thins. After that format it. Whenever you need it you can recover it from pen-drive easily. I hope this things you fill find at your own.  Cool

The safest way to keep your cryptocurrency is paper wallets. If you are a holder and do not use your coins, you can make a wallet in an offline PC, or by booting your computer using a Linux cd. I used another way because I have a Raspberry Pi.
I've created a new Raspbian version and I've downloaded the wallets then unplugged it from the internet, and when I was ready with the addresses I've formatted the mini SD card. If you make transactions it is better to use a hot wallet - cold wallet combination.
A hardware wallet is a good option too.

I guess that even it is cumbersome and annoying to manually type in your private key everytime it is being asked for since it was not saved locally in the laptop, it would still be preferable than your keys saved in the laptop and you got hacked.

If you are HOdler Then there are few points that you need to take care of to protect your coins from hackers and unauthorized person.

Don't keep your coin private keys in an email in cloud platforms like google drive and Dropbox, many buyers take private keys pic and store in a cloud that is very risky.
Don't share with anyone how many coins you hold and at which place you are holding.

Use proper antivirus in your system or pc and avoid downloading any free software, especially when you are using pc wallet.
Avoid sharing details with strangers that give the offer to buy your coin outside an exchange.

Password protect your pc in case it is stolen then no one can access your wallet.

If you have any other tip share with people

The only tips is don't create any thread in this forum because many hackers are always monitoring the every thread. But this is digital world so whatever happened in anytime we only protect ourself else anytime hacking is possible in crypto platform.

All right! the best security is to store your passwords in your own head. Even a safe can be hacked or stolen in our time, especially as more scammers become more active in the crypto world!
They find crypto an easy way to scam, do coin , do paperwork and website then at ICO appears, we should put extra efforts in everything we seal with crypto, work smart to really earn.

Now I am intrigued sir. Can you memorized all those characters for all your wallets in your head? Surely that is a gargantuan task if not impossible. Only a genius or a special person can do such a thing. So I guess - no offense - you are smart.

Use a hardware wallet for increased security.

Don't keep large amounts of your crypto on exchange sites, unless you are going to trade them.

Don't keep your private keys on your email.
ya , agree with your point , buy a hardware wallet and fix all the security issue , not need to care about computer infected or hacker, just remember write down your seed in a piece of paper

I think the security at the exchanges and personal wallet is safe enough. Just do not lose your personal lock and malware onto your computer. then you have safely kept your tokens 100%

I did not stored any private keys in the cloud system I had printed it on paper because for now I do not have hardware wallet, I had stored a back up of my private keys in a pdf format file and put password to it. Then for another security I put it together with another pdfs in a zip file with encryption( two layer of password) save it my PC.

Are there still those who really keep all this data on the cloud system? Hardware wallet is the most reliable way to store saving. Smiley

There are a thousand different ways you could loose access to your hold if you have the details stored on anything that is some how connected to the internet.

The Best way i would recommend to keep your crypto safe is by using hardware wallets which you can place in a safe spot where only you can access them.

I am using ledger to store my hold and its the safest mean that i feel until now.

When using exchanges always enable 2 factor authentication

Dont use the same passwords for different exchanges

Dont use the same passwords you use for your email

Keep a hard copy of your passwords/keys and store in a safe place like a safe.

back up all your wallets

Not everyone can afford the hardware wallet and I believe the most secure way is easy
1. Always clear your clip board on phone and pc
2. Always use GA
3. Store your GA security code to your email
4. watch carefully the types of links you click on your email
5. Don’t share your phone will other people, you should have a phone and a tablet( use your tablet for crypto basis and have the access to it alone)

Hope this helps

Now it's time for everything to be done neatly and safely and protect yourself as much as I've been hearing from many people for a long time as hacking their wallets and stealing everything ... so you need to look for some ways for your safety.

I think the hardware wallet is relatively safe, don't put your private key on the computer, this is a very dangerous thing.
If you don't have a lot of digital currency, you can write them down on paper and put them in a safe place.
