The coins that we have listed are quite good promising projects, I think that you do not need to fuss and try to exchange them back for Bitcoin. You just have to wait a while and everything will come back to normal, do not panic and do not do any short-sighted actions. Otherwise you will lose potential profit.

Seriously, i understand how it is for you to see your holding get to a very high price without you selling and then it goes down. It's a very frustrating thing, I face experienced it before and wouldn't want to again. Even though you're a believer, but you still need to have something to show for your investments.  Best is to forget about it, learn your lessons and know how to strike next time.

Any thoughts on this? I bought 100 NEO at $14 saw it go to $200 than down to $8.

Whenever you buy any crypto, set a target value at which you will sell it. As none of us know exactly what maximum price that crypto will reach. HODLing a Cryptocurrency for an indefinite period of time is not good especially when it's at ATH. Buy at Dip and Sell when its high.

Put it back to bitcoin and don't have a second thought about this. I committed a mistake too for purchasing an altcoin and now it's dropping low and I don't think that the choice I've made will recover. It's sad to see that the value of my portfolio drops every each other day but that's the matter that I should accept for now. We'll never grow to this market if won't experience such lows, I'm a HODLER and I have few regrets but I'm willing to wait for that awaited bull run.

Me too. I enjoyed the alt ride for a while, made profits here and there, and some coins even made 2x several times, but the problem for me was investing in ICOs. Chose the best ones, took my time to research, and yet ended up with poor ICOs, whereas others I knew invested in hype like EOS and made money.

Taught me a great big lesson that alts are just a gamble in the end. Bitcoin is where the true value will always be.

It's best to try to forget it and don't look at the price at this time. It will make you tired and think a lot of things, I have been like you and I have been stressed for nearly a month, finally my choice is to have a main job outside and try to forget it

I was always a huge Bitcoin person. Maybe owned a few Litecoin. Than 2017 came and I was into NEO, Ethereum, Cardano, etc. I’m a HODLER not a trader.

I saw the value of my NEO drop from 1BTC ats peak to .25BTC now.
same with all my other altcoins. Some are worthless. Others still are worth .1 BTC. .2 BTC.  This bothers me way more than the USD loss.

So I’m thinking it’s time to start to face the facts and retain whatever satoshis are left by trading most of them back to Bitcoin.

Any thoughts on this? I bought 100 NEO at $14 saw it go to $200 than down to $8.

I’m a Bitcoin guy at heart. And it kills me to see all the Satoshi losses.
I'm not sure what you are doing is right, but there is no other way out for you. To tolerate is infinitely impossible, and even more so to expect that there will be an instant growth. Therefore, reinvestment is the right thing to do.
In any case, we must take into account the fact that, due to the current state of the cryptocurrency market, most of our assets have depreciated and will not return to any indicators that we expect. I compare you projects that were born in 2016 and which appeared this year, I can say that they had different conditions for development.
If you analyze the entire cryptocurrency market, despite the conditions you are talking about, all the coins have fallen in price by more than 300% lately. I do not think that in the near future we will be able to see a return to the 2017 level.

It has become a very natural thing if there is a price movement because cryptocurrency manipulation often occurs so that you have to be careful when you want to buy a cryptocurrency and must be prepared with the risk of loss or fortunately only you can determine it.

NEO has one unique quality that makes it very attractive to investors and that is the ability to basically stake without leaving your wallet open. Anyone who is holding NEO will get GAS tokens for free, and both are available on binance. NEO can pump because it supports many programming languages which attracts more developers

Choosing good altcoins that will outperform bitcoin and can be held long term is not easy. Next bull run will reveal what coins are still the winners to keep.

Not sure I'd trade Ethereum back for Bitcoin this year but the other assets possibly although there's still value in some of those alternatives from a long term perspective so it's really up to whether you think Bitcoin will outperform them in the time period you plan to have them in your portfolio

The issue is that you applied the same strategy you were applying in bitcoin to altcoins, if I buy any altcoin I always have a price in my head that when reached will make me to get out of the market, just look at your investment in NEO you invested at the perfect time and you still got losses because you did not had an exit strategy, even if it was something as simple as if I double my money I will sell, you will be enjoying profits instead of losses.

Before exchanging BTC for other coins, you need to make a plan. If not, then you will be guided only by feelings. This is most likely a way to lose.
It's too late now to talk about it.
If you exchange back the remaining funds in BTC, according to Murphy's Law, growth will begin. It is also useful to remember that if BTC go up, alts rise faster. This gives you a great chance to recover your investment in case of a bull run.

MenaPay - Crypto made easier than cash
From the beginning, you should ask your self first until when are you going to hold those and what is your target price to sell it for a profit. If you dont have a goal while holding those altcoins then you are only wasting your time and missing thousands of opportunities a year. I was a holder before and also experienced the same so if I were you, those altcoins you are holding got a potential so you better hold it then target a specific price to sell it instead of panic selling those where in return, it will give you more losses and suffering when peak season returns.

People are saying this time and time again - when we have a bear market BTC is slower to drop, when we have a bull market BTC is slower to moon.
So it's always smart to have lots of FIAT during bears, this will see you jump in Satoshi value.

At least it looks like you're holding some legit projects rather than some random shitcoins. We're in a bear market, so chances of seeing your alts increase in satoshi value are low, especially to 2017 levels. My advice would to hold them for the long-term, there's no reason to dump them at such low prices right now. Since you're a hodler, you can be patient enough to wait for the next altcoin cycle to hit market so your alts can increase in value to convert them to btc.

I have plenty of shitcoins.
ZClassic
Bitcoin Private
Bitdegree
Vertcoin

But the vast bulk of what I own is BTC, LTC, ETH, ADA.

TODAY I swapped my 100 NEO for .22 BTC. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH of that one. In 2017 NEO was “The one.” The Chinese Ethereum. But now there is NEO, and Ethereum, Cardano, EOS...I mean how many protocols do we need? Da Hongfei barely tweets about NEO anymore. No one really discusses NEO.

I WILL probably end up being wrong. But as each day grows I feel more and more like a Bitcoin maximalist. The best doesn’t always win. A lot of times. It’s the first.

Look at it this way as an alternative line of thinking: which is more likely to happen, BTC going to 100k USD from here, or NEO retesting its all time highs of 200 USD from here,

either of these events would give you approximately identical returns, you can bet on whichever one you think is more likely to happen first...

Honestly...Bitcoin to 100K. Neo...May recovery. But I just don’t see what kind of catalyst will get it to $200. So much competition in the protocol space. Da Hongfei seems a little distant from the project.

If it drops again to $5 or lower I’ll buy some back.
