Yes, a strong guy in such a short time, and such a good result, there is someone to take an example. But I want to say, you can take an example of his activity, but you do not need to try to repeat his actions, you need to find your uniqueness on anyone not like her and correspond to it. And when you copy someone it will not bring you success.

sorry for english this is not my native language
He truly deserve his achievement, theyoungmillionaire did give me some tips but failed to do so, thanks to theyoungmillionaire that I achieve what I have right now because of his teachings and I can't even compare myself as i'm at the bottom yet while he's right above me in terms of knowledge and experiences.

It seemed to me that it was very difficult to obtain merit,
This is actually one of the reasons
sorry for english this is not my native language
You actually do not have to be absolutely good with the English language, but you at least have to be coherent to say the least..
No one can actually understand what being said by you without coherence in your speech..

@OP I really would not say nor advice other users to copy anothers style or posts, though the case study here has a wonderful track record on the forum and congratulations to him...
Everyone should go about earning merits on the forum his/her own way IMHO

Check his posts to have an idea on how to make a quality and humorous posts here that other's could appreciate and if you're lucky can win some merits.

To: theyoungmillionaire, sorry for using your profile as my model in this post so newbies here can know the difference of spammer from a quality poser.

I checked his posts while they're good I don't recommend this practice of choosing someone to be superior to you, as this leads to feeling of inferiority which will later on lead to aniexty, it's one viscous circle. I would advise all rank members to just enjoy being here, put your best efforts, and go with the flow those merits are not an indication of how good you're, so stop viewing yourself from others view, realise your self worth and don't loose out being unique.

I looked posts, and I totally agree with you!
You are right, we all need to strive to improve communication on the forum.
But there are very few such people on the forum.
I think that @theyoungmillionaire is worthy to be the moderator of our forum - many of his posts helped me.
But there are only a few such people on the forum and most of them simply don’t have enough time for such detailed posts.
P.S. Every person is a person, and we are all different ...

I’ve often used theyoungmillionaire as an example I’ve pointed out to others, specially, but not limited, to those on the Philippine Local board. The idea of referring to profiles such as his is to give an example of a profile that contributes in multiple areas to the forum, as has a proven track of being merited due to the effort put behind many of his posts.
Well you should not forget also that your post are all inspiring and it may seem effortless to you when you start a thread but for us who were not that knowingly understand your post all about. It was highly technical and I like the way you presented it. This is the other way that your works will be simplified and for us to understand.

DdmrDdmr, You have shown in this forum that you are one of a kind user which allows you to reach that number of merits for a legendary rank but still down to earth when introducing someone to be as an example and to be an admiration for some users here in the forum.

I like the theyoungmillionaire but you don't need to be like anyone, no need to follow someones' steps,  just be yourself and post only when you have something to say.

Before nullius was given as example but almost no newbie can be like him, so much knowledge and humor, and of course high end English grammar.

Trying to be like someone else you loose your uniqueness.

Exactly, and just like in the previous thread wherein I gave this guy as an example on how someone can really contribute to the community, specially in 'uplifting the image of Filipinos' here. Mind you, I have some conversation with him privately, specially spambies and merit abusers.

As for the OP, its hard to copy what he has started, but I guess you have a idea how to post quality and add value to the community. Goodluck.

There are a bunch more that can be placed as examples. Mind you, the idea is not to emulate them necessarily, but to see the difference in the content provided by them versus the ones that complain about the lack of merit. Normally, role model profiles have certain qualities in common: have invested time and effort into their posts, have a good command of the languages they post in (spelling, grammar and expressiveness), have or have acquired a certain knowledge that helps them to make their content, and basically “have it in them”.

This individual has done really well in such a short time and he is worth emulating but if we wanted to get role models they all around us from the administrator himself to the rest and it would still be a long endless chain.  so rather just a simple work hard would do

Well I would say you should practice what you preach by first following his steps as well.

I guess he would not have attain such heights by making posts like this one you just made

And also you won't be getting any merit from such post as well
Exactly, well said. I think this topic wasn't needed. theyoungmillionaire is a great poster, but I don't know why he should be used as example. If Newbies want motivation or inspiratiin, they can just open list of top merited users and check their posts. We can find many users who are here for not so long, but they are already important part of community - for example o_e_l_e_o, iasenko, coolcryptovator, sncc, DdmrDdmr and many others. But I think main thing - always be yourself. Don't try to copy style and behaviour of other users.

You just said that he is a great poster so he should be one of the inspiration for newbies to have a good quality post. I think OP was just trying to emphasize the hardwork he has done that should be imitated by newbies who wants to get merits to rank up. But yes I agree with pharmacist that you should not think of ranking up in the first place as you should only think about how can you help this community and the least that you can do is really to make a good quality post or content as well as respecting others as well.

If i were you, i will not post this on this forum, because after read this post maybe too much newbie will not hardwork to post usefull on forum, but they will make spam i think

True indeed, we should not tell newbies to post senseless comments just to earn something.

You shouldn't try to copycat other poster's attitude. We don't need mirror images and people showing other people what and how to write. Be yourselves and you will get merit. There are many merit sources who read these threads and reward posters. Take your time, don't rush it.

I admit that I was once a shitposter but it changed.

Circumstances change and you chose the right option.

If I am not mistaken, he is the one who proposed the design of report badges when theymos is asking for suggestions in the Meta Section. Well, he also inspires a lot of Filipino bitcointalk users when it comes to quality posting. Because of him I realized the true importance of participating in this comunity. I admit that I was once a shitposter but it changed.

theyoungmillionaire earn his merit because of his hardwork, there's no doubt that he also contributed a lot in this forum the same as the list in the most merited users in bitcointalk. Look at themillionaire's account status with 500+ merits that is worthy for the next rank but lacking in activitiy points which means this guy is not a spammer in this forum. Also check DdmrDdmr that is also an example or a role model in bitcointalk forum.

I can't recall how much of an impact his posts have made on me, but I did give him some merit as did a lot of other members.  He's definitely doing OK for someone who's "only" been here a year.

OP, I kinda like the idea behind this thread, but part of me thinks it's unnecessary.  If anyone needs merit role models to emulate, they can just check the list of the most merited members (all-time) and scrutinize their bitcointalk output.  There's also the same sort of list for the members who've received the most merit recently.  Either way, newbies who have concerns about not earning enough merit would do well to check out those links and look at the posts those members made.

Or better yet, they should stop worrying so much about ranking up.  Sometimes this forum feels like a big dick-measuring contest, and it shouldn't be that way.

OP, if I were you I would move this thread to the beginners section now. Or I would lock it or delete it.

On the beginners section it is OK.

It's just that if you publish it here instead of there, people will think you are just trying to get merit.
