Do not derail this thread, no matter what rank you are! There are enough discussions on the (off) topic you are arguing for. No need to extra off topic. The OP's question was already answered. I see no point in keeping this thread open anymore.

Then follow high ranked user what they do.

This really isn't necessary at all. Constructively conversing and not spamming and just following the rules in general will suffice. A user being high ranked doesn't automatically mean that he/she is a good role-model here in the forum. Even with the merit system working well, there are still high-ranked accounts from the pre-merit system era that are low-key spamming.

In fact,  we have good and bad high ranked members but also good and bad newbies.
Don't forget that some newbie have more experience and knowledge  than many old members here in the forum.
Recently one newbie joined our local board and he is owner of crypto company so we already learned a lot from him.
Forum ranks are no so much important but attitude,  respect,  experience and knowledge.

It's all about the attitude of the account holder and no matter what rank are they they will show their good or bad sides, but if someone show us their bad attitude maybe we should look also on what we to to them to react like that to us since maybe we hit some critical points unto them that's why they are been rude to us, but remember this just respect one another and if people will give you merits then its good and be inspire more to get those to rank up.

We have seen the discussion over and over but it is not tiring for us to show a good direction for knowledge for beginners.
This is why Beginner & Help sections for, you can ask everything about basic thing about forum or bitcoin... Even it has been asked for multiple times. We can't blame newcomer if they want to ask, all you need is give advice for them to use search engine before create a new thread if it has been discussed before and advice to lock the thread if the question has been answered. So, I don't find anything wrong here.

I would rather have users ask about features than delve into them when they don't understand how they work. Sure, they can try things out, but how are they supposed to understand that the potential consequences of their actions are not significant?

After all, there have been many users that have accidentally locked their account due to the security question feature... it would have been best if they asked about it first, right? Feels a little contemptuous, your post.
I would advise beginners to explore knowledge rather than asking the thread, all the basic knowledge threads using the forum have been archived but it is difficult for beginners to find these threads so that beginners create threads of recurring discussion each new account is created. We have seen the discussion over and over but it is not tiring for us to show a good direction for knowledge for beginners.

What is the function of one of these 5 topics
You have got your answer from the user @Jawhead999 . But I want to add that you have not learned all what you need. This forum is much more than your leaning.

So first you follow all forum rules and then discover how this forum is useful to any user and what kind of discussion we can make. Then follow high ranked user what they do.

After learning a lot you will know the importance of this forum as well as how to use it properly.

Best regards.

Wow your answer is the best I think. As a newbie member you have much knowledge about Forum. I want to be notify via email. I want to know how do I create flash light notification on my mobile. When anyone reply it will be known by flash light on my phone immediately in a second.
You will be notified via email by default, the email you have provided when you registered in this forum will serve as your notification when someone makes a post or reply to the thread you have posted before. The proximity light differs from every phone and i don't think that there is a way to activate that function using email.

Create a telegram account and try these method instead.
[1] [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+)
[2] [TelegramBot] Merit watcher and Mention Notification Bot
[3] [WORKING] LoyceV's alternative for Piggy's @mention notification bot

Actually, those features are easy to understand, from the word itself, "reply" it is simply replying on the post, just like other features, try to use all of the features so you will be able to know what will happen, or if you really don't even know just look the thread given by @jawhead, it is the all feature of this forum and the definition of it one by one.

Asking is really good because it helps us to know something, that is what we really need if we don't even know things we want to know, but are you really serious asking those features? Just use our common sense and then we will be able to know what are those things.
Hello buddy, welcome to this forum, I am gonna tell you the things I know about those terms one by one.

Reply - it's just a way for you to reply to the specific post, if you want to say something on the thread then click reply and say whatever you want.
Notify - if you want to be notified once there would be a reply on the thread, just click it. There would be an email notification for you.
Mark unread - it's just something related to our message inbox, if we want a message new to us just click it.
Print - it's just a picture copy, try to click it and you will see what will happen.
It would be like this.
Good job, I haven't tried the print button, so I amazed when I tried to click it, from the word itself, it just prints the things on the monitor but it chance only mild things to make it organized.

Read more than what you think you can wrote. It's the best you can do to benefit a real treasury from this forum; a lot of good knowledge and building a solid user profile.
Forum rules are a must read before everything because this forum is not a friendly-use for someone willing to build a profile. Note that building a profile doesn't mean to make any kind of profit.
About forum options and features, they are described in a dedicated section here: Help

Explore and see for yourself obviously it's on the word reply if you want to reply, watch and notify if you want to get a notification of a new reply and mark unread because there will be markings when you read a topic by unmarking it you are not adding to the stat of the thread or topic, you still have to learn a lot on how this forum works so stop posting and read a lot.

If you have a look at the stickied thread

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727

It will tell you everything you need to know . There is also a video , if your English is not so good . It’s worth taking a bit of time to get used to how the forum features and functions work  Smiley
I also agree with you that his English isn't enough good but the thread link you provided will definitely help him to learn about forum and its features. Basically some new users fear to post from their end and they need little bit extra time than native English speakers to learn anything from this community. In a situation like this forum pinned posts and community users support give them strength to start the learning process without fear.  If i am not wrong then some of them have good writing skill in English but they can't express their opinion and query.

By the way, "OP" thanks for showing interests about learning forum features. Already multiple members have already given their suggestion which will help you find the exact answers. Just take your time and learn the use of all features by your own. Hope to see a better topic from your side next time.

Watch - I haven't tried using it before, as of curiosity because of this thread I tried it. Whenever I click the watch button, there would be a message that would ask watch or unwatch? I don't think the purpose of it, hoping that there would be someone that would help us.
