Still a mere prediction which we don't have to agree with all the time.
My hopes are not there.
A big blast like that could create another bad impression to bitcoin and so scammers will again get out of their closets.
Who would want that?

I will take the slow increase even just 10 percent for every year or maybe 20. Yeah, that will be better.
Next year will be the big blowout.  Cheesy

Tom Lee's forecasts were always too optimistic and quite often they were not confirmed. However, it is always nice to see them, they inspire hope and increase interest in cryptocurrency for many people. Even if his predictions often do not come true, they are needed anyway. This can be considered simply the next guideline in the rise in the price of bitcoin.
By doubling the price of Bitcoin by the end of the first half of the year, that is, reaching it again with $ 20,000 is not so unrealistic. It could very well happen.

Tom Lee is not reliable. I am not saying bitcoin can't go 200% in the next 6 months and it definitely looks like there is a huge chance it can do that however that doesn't change the fact that Tom Lee is an idiot. Have you ever checked any of his previous predictions, dude has always claimed the price would go up multiple times, not just recently but seriously all the god damn time dude always claimed bitcoin would go up, that is not really something you can say when price goes up but also DOWN as well, there is a bear side of this which he keeps on ignoring all the time.

In the end maybe he is right this time, maybe the price goes 200% in 6 months which I agree could very well be correct, however that won't be because Tom Lee is smart and knows what he is talking about. Someone who keeps saying bull will eventually be right when bull comes.

Betting right? Don't you remember someone out there who bet that bitcoin will up to $100.000 prices on this year? Did you believe that? I don't think that those predictions will come true. They just make a prediction for their reputation only apart form that I guess they didn't sure with their prediction. So here, if you make othere people's analyst as your source to make your own decision it seems like you was wrong. You have to make your own prediction, don't rely one someone else even he is an expert.

Definitely true.

How many times he gave his predictions in the past and how accurate they were? Here they are again when bitcoin starts to show its pattern to rise again.

I wonder how many accurate predictions every analyst has about Bitcoin, out of their total number of predictions.

It's mostly a miss or hit, I've rarely seen the same name successfully predict price changes in a consecutive manner. Every time I followed an user I've seen good and successful predictions from, a miss followed.

Or maybe I'm that guy coming in with some bad luck.
I don't know if they were even accurate. They just say usual words that make it look like an accurate one because of the market situation. Another example is Mike Novogratz, these two are just few of those prediction analysts that gave their opinion about the possible price increase of bitcoin for the last three years.

And here we are, still not seeing the accuracy of their prediction. They are good with words and analysis but it's all just a plain opinion of what they think about the market.

He has such a poor record of predictions, I'm surprised that people still listen to him.

A broken clock is right twice a day buddy Wink
200% price increase by the end of 2020 wouldn’t be that unlikely as it’s the halving in May. I don’t think within 6 months is likely but by New Year, for sure.

Exactly, In the month of May, there is halving and it seems the price of Bitcoin will during at the time of halving. In order to reach 200% is really big, but based on his previous predictions he never reached his predictor's targets. So we have to see how far the price of Bitcoin will increase its price by the end of the year.

He can make many predictions about bitcoin price will hit in one range price, but he doesn't know if that will happen or not. People can also create their predictions as Tom Lee, but the market can increase to any price. But we don't have to follow his predictions, but we can use his prediction to make our prediction so we will get new information that can use us to determine the market movements.

This time will be exciting because we will see a halving of bitcoin price that can trigger bitcoin price to increase so high and perhaps, the bitcoin price will increase more than $20k. But there is no right clue on how high bitcoin price can improve and we still guessing on the price. It is better to prepare our bitcoin to be sold at the highest price, and don't be greedy to sell your bitcoin.

Tom Lee: bitcoin could soar nearly 200% in the next six months
Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee is betting that bitcoin could continue its January rally and thinks it could soar nearly 200% in the next six months. In an interview, Lee noted that BTC broke through its 200-day moving average.Historically, BTC has rewarded investors handsomely every time this has happened.Lee also reiterated that he expects bitcoin to generate higher returns in 2020 due to events such as geopolitics.(U.T oday)

He has such a poor record of predictions, I'm surprised that people still listen to him.

I believe this is the second thread I have seen in the new year of Tom Lees predictions, and as I have said before we all should take his predictions with a pinch of salt as he’s not getting them right since a long time now. The only thing I like about Tom is his optimism for bitcoins, but in his greed to make people adopt to bitcoins he ends up crossing a line with his predictions, and due to that his reputation has completely tanked in my personal opinion.

Tom Lee is one Good in prediction and also a Bullish so either he really mean this or just a way to make market pumps more but for bitcoin supporters like us?who cares whats the motive the important thing is we are being boost for our support and holdings.waiting for more than 2 years is perfect reason why we should believe such kind of posts.

Tom Lee's prediction about the value of Bitcoin could be true. Based from the present changes in the price of Bitcoin, the $9,600 barrier has been broke leading to a further increase in the price of Bitcoin. This have been a vital development in the increase of the value of Bitcoin. Within just a short time, the value of Bitcoin have been increasing rapidly that might prove the 200% increase in the coming months.

Awesome sauce but remember these bullish predictions are part of the near term, its the froth that appears when we gain.  Its going up non stop, all your worries are over, easy street etc.    Its way more complicated then that and its a pain that its never simple but I also love the waves that make up the patterns to bullish or bearish moves.
Thats a long winded way of saying I think we are near to resistance and it can lose 20% from here and still be within a rise later in the year.

Lol, Tom Lee again?  Here is my thread way back last year: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee.

@Searing - Yeah, I like Tom Lee as well, however, we should understand where the guy is coming from. We could as well call him a "bitcoin shiller" because of his outlandish predictions second to John McAfee (although McAfee already made a U-turn).

Clueless!

I like Tom Lee! He is, however, IMHO, as nutty as a Loonie Toons Cartoon! At least on his overhyped and high as hell BTC price predictions that keep him on T.V. Smiley

This does not stop me, in my irrational expectations, that I really hope that he is indeed correct and being conservative in his pricing guesses as being too LOW!

But then again, I am biased, after drinking the BTC Kool-Aid in 2013! So it is possible to believe both of the above.

Again, Tom Lee's predictions are as nutty as the Professor in the FLUBBER movie, I don't expect him to be anywhere near right on price, but would be cool as hell if he was!

(damn, now I want BTC All-Time High and Flubber!)

I saw another prediction from him that Bitcoin will reach 27K USD! So, 200% is the same prediction for me. I have seen many predictions from the first week of this year, but only Tom Lee's prediction seems the reality for me. Let's wait for the bull run and see what happens next!

Actually he was talking about 197% jump, which is even more pretentious. I bet even Satoshi himself wouldn't tell if it's really gonna happen, we should just stop taking these predictions seriously

I never knew Satoshi was Nostradamus.. How the hell did you manage to relate Satoshi to the ideal price prediction?

Speaking of Nostradamus, I am waiting for the next "Nostradamus predicted Bitcoin will spike to $10M!" spree of articles. Like come on, every time a new predictor comes up with a successful tip there's alwas that "After successfully predicting a $1 price increase of Bitcoin, ..." kind of paragraph at the beginning of an article to give him some credibility.

In 7 years of crypto I've seen enough to not believe in any prediction anymore. These guys just come and go like the wind. If Tom Lee's prediction doesn't go as planned, another price prediction will pop up from someone else.

If Tom is predicting this then it's going to happen, just like all his other predictions.

Statistically speaking your probability of getting a good short now have increased 10 times Cheesy

Also, I don't get why he's always so overly optimistic. A normal trader would expect a 20% gain before the halving. Tom is always in the hundreds.
Bitcoin looks like it wants to correct after reaching 10 thousand not go 200% up to a new all time high.

I am not a typical person who is easily influenced by speculation like that, whether the person is influential or not, I just make it as a complement, not fully influenced. I prefer to do independent analysis, and expand the network with other traders, it's more effective I feel than just being carried away. Rumors, issues, speculation can have an effect on the market, but we must be selective and have our own analysis so it is not easily trapped. Even if our analysis is wrong, we can value it as a result of effort and risk rather than just blaming it on others if the prediction is wrong.

He had been speculating ever since and always bullish with BTC. Nothing wrong with it specially for Tom Lee at least he only does it with BTC not with an altcoin he shills. I didn't hear him promote any token unlike Mcaffee. Seeing these kind of prediction though will make new investors in crypto think that cryptocurrency are all for speculations.
Paid promoter, right? fortunately, he is talking about bitcoin  Grin I am more uninterested when he also has an "interest" in cryptocurrency, so I think that what he conveys always has a specific purpose.

Sounds like another random prediction made by a random guy. I don't think that any predictions there are there really matter. When a person makes one good prediction, this person becomes a guru, basically. And even when a guy makes terrible predictions, people still discuss them. There's no way of predicting where the price will go. None of them are scientific. We can say that it's more likely that Bitcoin will be $10k tomorrow than $100k, but not a lot more than that, and definitely nothing legit long-term.

I see at least 3 threads about Tom Lee new speculation in the Speculation board, which only means that people do not use the search option on the forum before posting (which is somewhat understandable for newbies).

Lee is again trying to hit something in the dark, and he is again using "could" which means that it can, but does not have to happen. It won't be a miracle if the price goes up 200%, it can be a nice pre-halving pump, but I would not bet we can see a new ATH in the first half of this year.

It will be no wonder that this failed prophet is wrong again, with his largely missed speculation he became a subject of ridicule. To me personally, he seems like one very confused person who has trouble deciding which socks to wear in the morning...

200% price increase by the end of 2020 wouldn’t be that unlikely as it’s the halving in May. I don’t think within 6 months is likely but by New Year, for sure.

Not unlikely (hey, anything is possible in this space) but we've seen similar speculation when Litecoin was about to go through a block halving. It had a sweet pump prior to he halving, but then ended up tanking hard, also before the halving. It kept tanking after the halving while people were expecting even more pumping to happen.

Two different coins, but speculation-wise, the sentiment is quite similar. No doubt that Bitcoin will breach its prior highs eventually, but people shouldn't expect a massive bull run to take place just because of the block halving. Keep in mind that the price went up from low $3000's to now nearly $10,000.... My pre-halving pump target is $12,000 at most.
