Youtube quite often deletes videos and even channels due to their algorithms, and I kinda understand them - they host billions of videos, it's impossible to assign real humans to manually review all reports. In the past there was less such incidents, but then people start complaining that Youtube hosts all sorts of bad content, and advertisers reacted to it negatively, so Youtube, which has always been struggling to make profit, made their system that leads to problems like the one that happened here.
It's good that they seem to deal with difficult situations quite well if the channel is popular and people express support. It took less than a day to get this matter resolved, apparently. It took a few days to take down a video posted by people who hacked an account about history, pretended they were Binance and asked people to send money as a part of their promo (typical scam). Neural networks are getting better at a lot of things (deep fake videos and some engines that write texts are very impressive), and perhaps they'll get better at targeting videos as well.

Think at best I'm neutral about all these crypto punditry and influencers, but I got to say it smells like some people probably coordinated a YT reporting campaign against him.

On one hand, though, you've got educators like Antonoupoulos who's been there for years, and never wiped from any social media platform, so clearly, if you only educate and don't shill, you'll always be safe. Not saying Vays hasn't been educational, but it's clear he's got commercial interests and those generally have a risk of violating parts of ToS.

It is not strange if Youtube has deleted his Youtube channels because it is clear to read in that image from the OP that his channel violates Youtube terms. Besides that, someone has a complaint to Youtube about his channel, so Youtube investigate, and perhaps, Youtube found something that really breaks the terms. I think that someone was his competitor who doesn't want to see he got many followers or another thing, so he reports to Youtube that he is breaking the rule. But we don't know what story behind of that because I don't think Youtube will explain to the public their reason to delete his channels.

It's just unfortunate that the large centralized companies don't specifically mention what rules were violated. That is not really transparency.

And it's unfortunate that the popular crypto people don't consider using the decentralized alternatives. So how do we help in this matter now if the alternatives are hardly tolerated or patronized. Almost everything (whether good or bad) is called sh**coin thesedays. What reasonable advice can the real community  render that will be considered now?
Well, I guess he could try his best to convince youtube, but I don't honestly expect a centralized company to listen to unfairly treated users. I would just try the safe alternatives or maybe the court?

The ones deleted last year got their channels back so he might just get his back too.

I read it in another forum where youtube are purging the channels that acts likea channel of financial advisor, its still unsure if its whats going on really but Tony I belive have been telling his predictions many times about whre the market goes. I can remember him fudding the market will still drop to $4000.

Is his account does have the 91.3k subscribers? Guys his account is back. He's on the live now with his channel.
The people in the chatbox is congratulating him for getting back his channel.

Ok it seems that he is back in business, he seems that Youtube is quick in responding to those ban accounts. Maybe this time, human intervention is needed. They may rely on their algorithm, but at the end of the day, a simple message to them will help those crypto influencers get back their account the soonest.

I really don't think we should bring out our pitchforks just yet, and I don't think this is one of those "Google hates bitcoin/crypto" incidents. Videos concerning trading in general have always been in the gray area anyway as far as I know, as this isn't the first trading channel I've seen had such problems. I've seen non-crypto trading channels have problems in the past too.

this. specially when these so called analysts end up giving a lot of bad advice to those who follow them and then they end up losing some money in the process, the angry followers end up reporting their videos and since there is always something wrong in their content they get banned or at the very least the video removed.

After watching his channel for the past month on and off (not a daily viewer but since in lockdown) noticed his channel is no more.
https://twitter.com/ToneVays/status/1250809610610642946

Strange how he had published videos almost everyday for along time and all the sudden this happens? Embarrassed

I saw that there are many cases that youtube channels are banning channels that are related to crypto currency but as what is stated in the notifications, someone reported it and they decided to ban it. It will be good if the owner will appeal to the youtube about it and ask for clear details about the deletion but there is a big chance it is related to crypto ban for sure.

Last year they are deleting channels that is related to crypto but they decided to apologize and bring back those channels that are not doing something that is against their rules. I guess they are serious in deleting channels right now and it is the worst attack to crypto users, maybe it is the right time to boycott youtube and use other alternative that are exclusive only for crypto videos.

false alarm, probably just a misguided auto-ban. his channel has already been reinstated and he is live streaming right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6IXCrpUmng

Ah yes that could be the reason for these bans happening all the sudden.
With the vitalik, cz, garlinhouse and even elon musk scam channels running rampant on youtube it was bound to have others who promote cryptocurrency to be red carded like this.

Well things just got real with tone vays calling out the ceo on this and looks like she just got served. Cheesy
[..snip..]
It looks as if he wasnt given a reason why they shut him down even if it was due to trading.
I have seen him talk about technical analysis at times. But so do all the other crypto-related channels out there one way or another. Undecided

I think youtube is not giving any reasons for deleting channel in their platform.

It's a nationwide ban hammer that's why many influencers not just Tone Vays are bitching around because they all got booted out.

Crypto Beadles[1] was one who got the hammer ban in December, but it looks like it is already up and running and so is Chris Dunn[2].

Although I disagree mostly of Tone Vays, I think Youtube should reinstate his channel. It looks like the purge is still ongoing as of this time, one time sweep of all crypto related videos and channels. We all know that Youtube has become the target for cyber criminals with fake giveaways in the last 8 months or so and this is the second time they have purge their system again. I'm sure the channel will be back in no time once Youtube review all the affected parties and put back those 'legit' one.

I have seen this on twitter, actually this is not the right thing to do for Tone Vays because he has so many useful content on youtube, he teaches about cryptocurrency, about trading, investing, etc. I really don't know why youtube ban his account. Maybe he disobeyed some of the rules of the youtube, I really don't think why youtube keep restricting content about cryptocurrency, well in fact cryptocurrency is so useful in our everyday life, it is so useful especially when some crisis happens like this pandemic virus COVID-19, we can use cryptocurrency to buy foods, or any stuffs we want online.

I hope that the channel of Tone Vays will be recovered soon, I have learned so much things in his channel. I hope youtube will give him another chance.

Quite an unfortunate event for Tone Vays. I watched his YouTube videos a couple of times. I became a fan of his channel the day he stood up to Craig Wright in last year's Coindesk conference. The more troubling fact is that, h has come a long way with that account. I hope YouTube restores his account. This is the problem with centralized social platforms. They decide what is tolerable and what's not.

I just saw this on Twitter buddy, I presume he’ll be able to get his channel reinstated upon appeal. I’m struggling to see why they’d wipe him clean out unless it’s a site wide bitcoin purge.

Very strange!

Oh, congrats on making Hero Member rdbase!
He should get it reinstated but what was the actual point of them disallowing to be on their platform completely is a mystery.
You have people who are outright verbally saying on their youtube videos they are the worst and go out of their way to advertise and promote other channels so to view their videos on those platforms instead. Yet their channels still exist. Undecided
Berwick is one of them.

And yeah, thanks for the congratulatory mention.
I was thinking about putting up a thread about getting there with my leveling up to platinum of another site I frequent. Cheesy
But this had to wait since havent been in the mood lately to post such a thread just yet.
All of the outbreak this and lockdown that has me kind of in a equilibrate state of mind in the past three weeks. Sad

I don't agree with his opinions but he had a very good and informational channel about trading and TA. He never told people what to do just anlysed the charts and gave his opinions.
The hyperwave theory he's following is questionable and Tone is only right in maybe half of his predictions, but he's not doing anything wrong. He's just like any other analyst.

How does his channel break the TOS?

I hate how they never explain which exact point those banned people broke so that they cannot even argue their case.
I am not too sure what he broke in youtubes terms of service.
But of course the cryptocurrency media has noticed it too and have reported on it with in the last 30 minutes.

A lot of these bans have not at all been an attack on bitcoin videos. Pedos liaise in the chats and comments of all videos, and unless you police it all scrupulously, one report will screw you like poor Tone. The TOS will have verbiage about warning children to keep the fuck away if necessary, which of course a bitcoin video maker wouldn't do unless very switched on. Like if there's a competition for a Ledger, no warning it's not for kids, and foul pedo stuff in the comments, well it's a bad mix.
