Hello everyone,

I am also quite new to the crypto community, but a friend of mine introduced me to the ICN token, which is expected to grow a lot by the end of year. Another token that I am holding on to is Ether and also YUPIE which is now in presale.

For me couple things are important, and you can find that in almost every similar thread, and they are: devs behind a coin, check how active they are, do they have profiles in social networks and how active they are, do they have history or newly made profiles (just social network accounts is never enough, its easy to make new account and scam people). Active community, only altcoins with active community can progress in the future, and last but nothing less important trading volumes on several exchangers, if its possible to trade with altcoin in more then one place.
Sometimes its enough you to believe in something and to invest your knowledge, money and time in some altcoins, that is a beauty of crypto world you have so many options. I'm buying some altcoins that I believe in, but I don't have for all altcoins that I would like to have in my possession. Life is full of choices and I just hope that I'm making right ones.

I've known crypto currency for a few years now and I've heard about altcoins. Honestly, I haven't invested in any of it because that's one of my problem. There's a lot of altcoin to invest to and some people are saying that some are trash, some has good potential, and I don't know which to trust and where to invest.

If you are a beginner, it's very risky to get hokey or lose money. From some of the friends above explain, all you have to do first is the knowledge of the crypto world. If you do not understand at all it is the same as nonsense.

Today it is really hard to decide what coin chose for invest. The forum and all this opinions just will make your head to go round and round. I think you should to concentrate on Bitcoin and buy it by little if you can. But with bitcoin it needs big investment. Everybody wants to buy the coin as cheap as it possible. Bitcoin fell under 2000$ few weeks ago and that was serious fall for the coin, but nobody will say you that something the same will happen soon.

Actually there are not a lot of coins which will be good investments, more than %90 of the coins are really trash, even their creators don't care about his coin. I can't find good coin easily unlike you.
Op asked a good question. for newbies, it will be a big task which coin they want to invest. Becasue they don't know which is good and which is not good. If they open coins marketplace number of coins list will come. My suggestion is only to concentrate on top 20 coins. And also check that coin it is active, and people are investing on that coin or not. After cross-checking, you can invest.

It wasn't mentioned in this thread but I would also take advantage of various directories and listings of different ICOs like icobench , or threads here on Bitcoin talk. There are simply too many coins and you need some way to swift the junk from possible investment candidates.

Buy the ones that are higher on coin market cap, for a safer trade. You'll be less likely to lose your investment then.

Buy $BGL before it's too late!
Not all cpins are legitimate and profitable. Upcoming coins especially, needs a lot of research and study first before you buy in. Try to check the team behind these coins and what their plans are. There are also the old reliables that have been in the market for a long time and made names already so it's probably safe to play with these coins

Read its idea , which problem to solve, or which service to supply.
Check its dev team , serious or not.
Then price, too high compares to its potential is not recommended.

recently, many old coins didnt rise as the new coin do, so i suggest you to buy some new coins, especially the coin which price is lower than ico, then hold it for a long term or the predetermined profits
Very good observation, thanks

there are a lot of altcoins, and most of them are useless, so if you wanna buy anyone you have to do a good research.
when i look for buying some coins, i try to see if the admin has commited any scam in the past, i try to read the whole whitepaper, and see if they have a good project, because that is what is gonna hype the price.
So it is difficult to decide in which alt to invest, but it will give you a lot of profit in the future.

My advice is better to buy waves, Ethereum and BCC because the coin has a good future, for now, this third price of the coin is creeping up.

Waves, eth and ltc. I don't trust bcc yet but some where telling its still worth a try . Adex quite interesting too. Theres too many coins  better classify which youll be needing the most like what is common in investing purpose, cheaper in gambling etc.
Well, I think that, LTC is just obsolete. The graph of its price show no signficant movement at all. I would prefer to invest into some kind of new promising coin released by promising project.
BCC in other hand, is really volatile and I guess that there's many manipulations have done by some whale.

That is what I have also observed. Newly introduced coins to the top exchanges have grown in value so fast that old coins are all the more forgotten. Your suggestion might prove to be really effective. Watching out coins whose ICOs have just ended.
