BitMit.  It's the ebay of bitcoins. If anyone asks where to spend bitcoins, I point them there.

If you are listing items for sale
- do set your item to use escrow. No feedback and no escrow = scam
- do not list your item at a price way higher than you can get on ebay. Why would someone transfer coins to gox/bitinstant/etc with all the costs involved only to come back around to sell them for a price higher than the dollars they started with?

If you wanna buy/sell some bitcoins and you don't wanna deal with  an exchange there's a chance https://localbitcoins.com/ could help. It allows you to create escrow based craigslist like in person cash->bitcoin transaction. Really great system especially when used in combo with craigslist.
