it's nice to see that in this market people are talking not only about dumpings and pumping of the prices and other things related to cryptocurrencies, but also people still have humor that helps them to be emotionally stable in difficult times in the market. I find very good entertaining articles very rarely and this is one of them)  Grin

The ico project launched to get Vitalik Buterin fit must be right up there in the number one spot. I doubt that the guy who raised the money with the ico donated the amount to feed Vitalik. Besides Vitalik is a multi millionaire now having sold his stake in ethereum for a pretty good amount in terms of USD.

I never heard about these ICOs before and can you confirm if doge was an ico coin? as far as i know, if that was POW coin that has already created after litecoin exist in the market or this coin can be even older than litecoin. It's not an ico coin. I think that you are miss understanding what means of ico in this case.
About the jesus coin and we have still another jesus coin that's called BCH.

It's very well known running by bitcoin jesus called roger ver and isn't it?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Some people might know BCH as a scam coin too like jesus coin that you have mentioned it in your list.

people are getting crazy and sometimes this is like a joke.
how can people call coins, as jesus coins, I mean if there are no other names.
so maybe people don't take ico seriously and think of it as a joke.

They were all funny both in their aims and objectives but the funniest part is there are still people who bought them, might not be much but some people still bought it. Sometimes I wondered why someone would take time to come up with such funny things or project, as in, what are they trying to achieve?. There are other hilarious ICOs apart from these ones and sadly enough those who bought it never gained from it, but only ended up decorating their wallets. Lastly among all these ICOs, only Doge coin is in the market, they were lucky, others are no where to be found but only in abandoned wallets.

This is really funny but yet was used as a means to exploit people. There have been many ICOs with hilarious names, ideas, prospects and so on which really made many people look like they don't know what they want. Nevertheless we learnt the lessons and have moved on to be better and more informed. Nowadays, the main focus is now on the tech, idea, developers, community etc.

ICO's were definitely a scam machine back in 2017-18, however, I believe people have learned a lot from them and I want to believe crypto users aren't as gullible today.

Meme based projects and coins are fine as they give a different perspective and let people smile but to be honest they do not have much for the longterm and do not provide practical value to the crypto space so rather we need serious projects that can solve real world and human problems or make things easier for everyone already we have seen that now no good projects have come up in last almost 2 years now so it is high time we again see good quality projects coming up again.

That was insane to be honest and quite disturbing. I know the intention of such ICO is decent but d you think is it really necessary to put Jesus' name unto it? For me, I don't think so. How ironic that their coin got a holy name but somehow use it for gaining profits which might later result to greed of money. Whether this ICO really existed or not, for me it's not funny at all.

Anyway, I knew another coin which is also insane in different level. Have you heard of Titcoin? Yes, you heard it right! This coin is used for pornography. Just the name itself speaks everything, soo insane Roll Eyes.

I remember jesus ico, at some point they did a give away to 1000 first new members in their telegram group, pretty scary you had some really  religious fanatics in their while I tought people would just see it as a meme coin. I got banned when I pionted that out, makes me wonder what happened to those fanatics as it looks a dead token now. Probably waiting for ressurection.   🙂

Like reading a story with a plot twist, at first, I thought it was serious, but it was really unexpected. It turns out that some of the members above also feel the same way Cheesy

I can't believe doge was created as a joke and actually became something of value. I mean it has helped people who are in need of help, it made news when they advertised on a NASCAR drivers car, it helped Jamaican bob sled team, they also did many charity donations as well. So in a way, it was a hilarious purpose to create, became valuable and also used for good, it is literally all a coin could ever ask for.

You're right, even though it started with a small joke from a popular dog meme, Shiba Inu, Doge was transformed into a large crypto community. Dogecoin is known for its charitable donations and various positive activities from its community that works for humanity. For example, as mentioned above. Although the price is not as good as other coins that have limited supply, Doge is known in the crypto world by its uniqueness.

Nobody cares about "investing" into doge but they do one time or another have a bit of doge if they are old enough in the crypto world. I remember I had some as well, 5000 of it which was nothing back in the day (I assume it is today as well but haven't checked in years) that I used to donate to a good cause for cancer research if I am not wrong, that is the kind of community we need in all coins.

This is indeed funny. ICO like this does not have a good concept. or they sometimes just think carelessly, I don't think we should be affected by ICO like that.

Jesus coins are the funniest coins and to me it is very scary, because they are so brave to use and sell the name of God in the hope of getting hype and it is clear to collect profits. Honestly, I am not too religious, but if it is related and as a joke, of course I am offended and not interested or don't care about him.

There is always some room for humor among crypto investors. One good example must be dogecoin and it's success. ICOs is all about serious investor and hard earned money but people are able to find time to hilarious things among those ICOs. It is good for relaxation purpose and I believe it would be a lesson for future devs who are all planning for launching ICOs on the purpose of what should be avoided and what should be focused.

Devs usually focus on how other people are seriously working on attracting investors during their ICO phase but at the same time when they are doing some hilarious thing that will definitely attract more investors rather than just showing only road-map and the strength of their team.

I never heard of some of those ICOs before and yeah they are funny. Even dogecoins were started as a meme coin before, look at it now. It is some kind of a joke before that is building a good reputation now.

Excuse me for those other meme coins, but I am very curious how that of Jesus coin really works. As stated from the link given, the team is working for sin forgiveness. Hmn, how does it possible and to the fact that it can be connected to the blockchain. Sounds vague for me.

LOL, the picture was dope and even those projects except Doge.  Tongue

We like doge.

I think you need to expand that list into top 10 or 20 because you missed other projects that are hilarious too. So, if you will do deeper research about these hilarious projects, you'll get to list more of them just like those bitcoin forks that have a funny name.

Doge is great but that doesn't mean it's not hilarious at the same time.
Yeah, it's hilarious as well and you are basically right that it has a value which makes it even the most hilarious of them all.

It has a value and people are using it the same as the popular crypto that we know despite it was made as a meme-coin.

It sounds funny though but even more hilarious when people no matter how small invested or bought those coins; like what were they trying to achieve? I have come across many ICOs with funny names and funny ideas and yet they managed to make away with funds raised which points to or shows that most Investors don't really know what it takes to study a project thus leading to them being played on.

I just want to point out that Dogecoin wasn't an ico.

But thinking of funny ones, there was this one ico where the the makers of the ico just took the money and one day started to post pictures from their holiday parties and changed the topic to "don't invest to icos you idiots" or something like that. People were calling that a crowd sourced holiday after that. This was long before people were sued after these.

Found the thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dont-invest-in-ico-shit-idiots-746191

Grin Catholic coin was one of my hilarious ICO I have ever seen and participated, this coin was calculated for Christian and was tag with Catholic. Most people welcome the ICO and made investment with them  because of sentiment of being a Christian. I was one among them who did and lost all my investment in the process. Sentiment was the reason why I lost my investment.
