You know him in real life or just off forum?

I know chi off forum, quite a few of the collectibles guys do. And this is a rare case where what sounds like bullshit was actually true, I feel bad for Chi - but I also think he was a solid gold prick for doing it. Now I know it needs to be one rule for all, but in his case as I know the full story I do think he deserves a pass - maybe with a stipulation that he cant wear a sig for 6 months. On the flip side I can also see how much further Meta will turn into a cesspit of "but he got his account back" type posts.

Yeah, that was it. What makes it worse is it probably wasn't true and people just use whatever desperate excuse they can think of which will get them the most sympathy as a last ditch attempt at saving their account. As I said in the thread, I would have had more respect if he had just apologised without the sob story (which I really don't believe). I wonder if theymos will ever implement signature bans? The only time I would ever let these users off is if they had their signature removed for x amount of time and they only got it back if they showed they contributed to the community in the meantime. Most are only here for payment so most probably wouldn't bother, but if you're active and contributing then I suppose you could redeem yourself, especially if you only copied a post or two. I would much prefer it if people just read the rules though and didn't actually copy and paste, because there really is no excuses for it.

I found the cause! This is terrible. It was my wedding day and I didn't write anything that day. This one was made by a friend of mine, he wanted to help me. Because I read from that date is not my handwriting, not my style. But now I know the reason of ban. That's sad. No one can be trusted in this world.  Let this be a lesson to other users, do not let anyone to their work otherwise it is easy to lose.

Recently my account "Roboabhishek" got banned, and I am sure it was due to copy paste.

The user BitcoinMarshall was providing me posts for the loan I provided him. I asked him on discord that if he can pay the mortgage but he kept offering me his excuses by telling he has kids and things are going badly for him.
But promised that he would repay my loan amount of 0.06BTC.

Then he told me he could write posts for me in return for the loan amount.

At 1st he asked for my account (I refused) then I asked him will he copy-paste from the internet?
-He declined and said he would write the posts all by himself and in past, he had written posts for some people as well.

I said ok and told him to write posts for me in notepad and provide it to me in discord.
He then continued to provide me posts daily. (For a few days I checked that his post quality was average, After a few days he started sending me inferior post quality)
I didn't read much of it, copy pasted as I was busy with other stuff.

In October I had my surgery and wasn't active on the forum for a few weeks.
Then in hospital post-surgery after a few days in bed, I opened up my account, and I saw the message saying you've been banned.

I tried to contact him, but he wasn't replying to me regarding the situation either on telegram nor on the discord.
The posts he provided me were partially copy pasted from different sources and merged into a single post.

He said he will remember that I provided him a loan when he needed it and will always remember the favor and here's how I get treated by this person.
Also, he ran away with the loan amount. Just wanted to bring this up on the forum for my mental relief.

There's a thread in Meta from a fairly high rank who was busted for copy and pasting and started coming out with excuses about his family been ill and stuff. Can't find it but I think it was made this year.

That one actually works from time to time, depending on what the person was banned for. Not saying that anyone should give it a shot, but a one time mistake caused by the heat of the moment such as saying something that went over the line in an argument. Or while drunk, is a bit more forgivable if you are able to take a step back and apologize the next day.

I would imagine Nike and Apple have much higher standards. I doubt they would allow their employees to take a shit on the factory floor.

Everything is much more prosaic. I just did not relogin. I think you yourself have understood perfectly. The last father was at the computer, and when I started using, I didn’t leave his account. This is evident from the fact that the post was immediately deleted and a new one was written, exactly the same, but from my account. This is also visible on the timeline.

to be honest, I didn't steal anything from anyone, just copied the text from the site
