That’s definitely not my pie. I would never risk my full time job and trading at the same time. First thing is you will not be able to focus on both with 100% accuracy which means either of the work won’t be doing right. Depending on your jobs nature you may choose to do it but it’s really not recommended. You could follow news on the go regarding the coins which you are trading but it should not become your habit. It may hamper your work quality and result into after effects at appraisals. At least these are my thoughts

Does anyone here day trade crypto successfully whilst working a full time job?

I have medium experience with trading crypto and over the last few weeks have been mainly using the TradingView scalping indicator from https://cryptochiefs.io with good results. The problem is that I find it really difficult to manage the trades properly whilst working as they move fast any normally require that I am watching the screen. Kind of thinking I either need to forget about the idea or scale up from where I am and go full time.

Those of you with normal jobs, are you day trading or mainly long term crypto investors/ HODLers?!!

Day trading is hard if you are having a full time day job. I mean you have to manage your work and then your house and then your trades.
Day trading requires monitoring the trades which is not feasible for many if they have a day job.
Even I have a day job and do few trades in a month but I don't do day trading since it requires time and effort.
I mostly buy some trades and wait for few days or weeks for my targets to achieve.

I tried it for a while, and while i was making money i thought i was good at it. Turns out i am horrible at it. Worst thing is that if you are relying to make money with it and you lose it too fast because you think that stop limit orders are for suckers. Tongue

Then you have nothing to fall back to and you will be really scared to trade as you are mostly gambling with your future.
I imagine it's more fun when you make a ton of money in seperate account and you are only trading with like 5% of your wealth.
For me it was too intense as i don't have enough savings if mess it up. So i am not risking it anymore, i'll trade but not as my job.

I think never have any one here success trading cryptocurrency without any loss yet, but they can recovering with how much their loss and get profit back later.  I have full time with online working and trading is main job although right now have floating with my altcoin price still drop and waiting until price going up later. Several people make trading cryptocurrency as side job because have real job in daily day and use free time for trading in cryptocurrency.

I think everyone can do two things apart from their main job, but trading can be used as a side job, even if it's not full time online, depending with us how time controlling when trading at cryptocurrency.

Being a full-time trader is not that bad, but to make a profit from it and turn it into your primary source of income, you need a lot of time to do it, and it can't be done overnight. Another thing is that you need to ensure your financial stability so that you won't have trouble in your life because trading is not always profitable, even if you are a professional trader. I prefer doing multiple jobs rather than focusing on just one job, it will reduce my risk as well as stabilize my income.

If I read your story, you need to manage your time between work and trading to benefit from both. I advise you to trade when you are not working or just relax so you can focus on trading and analyzing properly. Or if you still have trouble trading, that means you are not cut out for trading and my advice is that it might be better to become a long term crypto investor/HODler while you can still focus on your main job. It will be better because you don't have to think about the price movement daily and your investment will still be the same as before.

I personally am a hodler. As you already said, you need to invest a lot of time and effort in order to be a successful crypto day trader and i just don't have the time for that because i am working a full time job and we are also currently remodeling our house so it have almost no free time to do research or to follow trading channels and so on. I am also a very careful crypto investor i would say, so doing active day trading is just not my type of thing i would guess.
I also think that if you start to trade actively you should only use money that you really can afford to use because especially when you have no experience at all the chance that you will lose all of your funds are pretty high.

When I wasn't working yet I tried daily trading, at that time I used 2 exchanges namely poloniex and bittrex, daily trading was also very difficult because to get good price movements I had to buy new coins, sometimes profit and loss, trading of course can be used as a job of course it requires capital so have a chance to make a profit.

Trading does not need time and can be done through bots, so there is no need for you to stay in front of the screen all day, simply you can do something else and this thing may be a full time job.
I agree, it's not time strict and that's why you can just set buy and sell orders if you want to while you're at work or wherever you're doing busy things.
But I think, OP just want to gives us an idea about that website he's probably working on. It's his first time to post and yet included a link that I have no idea what it is and got it through and inserted in the discussion, brilliant guy.  Grin

in any case, i would suggest not to leave his job, as he has regular income from that job. trading won't give an assurance of profits. as he is still new in this market, he will suffer losses from time to time. not yet a good time to go full time. just make this trading a side job for him and if he thinks he's already gained a lot of tricks that he can make a living out of it, then try it first. but leaving the stable job is not advisable to do so.
we also don't know if he is indeed own the site but the best thing to do is not leave the job at the moment.
The market is very unpredictable, even if he is a professional trader, there is no guarantee that he will always win or will always make a profit for a long time. So not only to the OP, but I wouldn't advise anyone to give up a steady job to spend full-time trading, trading should just be a side job to increase income. One source of income has never been better and safer when you have multiple sources of income.

He's still a newbie to the forum, we don't have to be too harsh on him.

I believe in long term investment than scalping or day trading. Because that will make a huge profit with a highest return. But scalping always don't work properly and it needs to do more
technical analysis.
Ive also doing this. Having a job might be quite busy sometime and trading or scalping might contradict on your mental health. Doing a buy low sell high long term goal is much relaxing than that for me.

If you are gonna do full trading then focus, drop your job and do that. But for part timers its highly not advisable. So better be firm when deciding.

It's going to take time until someone who just learned how to trade to leave his current job. I've seen people that have been too overwhelmed when they've made such profits during the bull run. They're not yet experts and professionals but due to the market condition, they've made a lot and thanks to the bull run. Some of them resigned because they thought that it's going to be forever that the condition of market is good but they're wrong with that. That's the total risk there, they've been new and then witnessed the bull market and thought that it would last long.

If you need to keep on looking at the trade screen while working, and trading isn't your "main/primary" job, then you better not focus on trading. You might end up losing your main job due to being inefficient or making frequent mistakes. Moreover, I don't think so you are allowed to trade from your office using company equipment. They would be able to fire you and if they feel like being an a-hole, they can literally claim everything you earned while working at the company time. Not worth the risk.

I’ve never heard of that exchange so I assume this is some sort of advertisement for it… Anyway, I don’t think it’s a good idea to trade at all regardless if you’re at work or not. Sure, losing money while making it is probably better than losing money at home, but don’t fool yourself, you’ll lose money like all other traders. Be an investor and build a portfolio instead of enriching an exchange to take your money.

Doing trading while at the same time having a day job is not that easy to fulfill.

While others can commit both 100%, not all people have the ability to do both at the same time. I'm really amazed at those people who can do that multi-tasking jobs as both trading and day jobs are really stressful.

With seriousness and eagerness to learn, others find the best way how to do both at the same time while still being responsible for their usual tasks outside the web.

I have been doing it for a while now, and I have been using a trading bot, Gunbot. It has been really easy to trade because of it, and the management with money is easy, because it can be traded with a percentage of your capital on your portfolio.

You wouldn’t have to be always in front of the computer because it will just read for you as long as you have set it up correctly and then waiting for the market to move the corresponding movements.

If you are interested, this is the link: https://gunbot.ph

Im not saying im a good trader but somewhat my profits is much more than with my losses which does simply means that i could at least get some extra income with it and its not really that something that could affect my

job too.I do have an 8-5 job and i do snip out with some swing trades in  8-9pm everyday or even when im work which i do monitor and snip out and make out positions if ever i do see some opportunity to get in.

Its not really that something bad aslong you could able to handle it out.Its just a matter of good time management on what you are doing, so that you could handle if ever you are decided to have both.

If you have a full time job you can't make a decent profit when trading but instead try to buy and sell or just invest and wait for the right time to sell. Trading is just like a job but it depends on what strategy you are using to make profit and having a full time job may hinder your ability to make profit but you are making money by doing your full time job although, the difference only is the money you are making compared to when you are trading.

Having a day job and doing trade is good. When one is into full time job and looks for profit out of trading it is an easy thing to be done. Because, the day job brings regular money and with trading it is possible to make small revenue that can help in shaping the life.

When trading is done addition to the day job one can set a price and leave it. The execution of the trade can take little time whereas daily traders need to be observing closely.
