Have a point! So making sure that if you buy an altcoin you could see the possibility of reaching its potential marketcap and upside chance. Well even though its low mcap it doesnt mean it will reach to other level. Of course that depend on the quality of that altcoin in orurder to enjoy the bull run. But if its not the right pick then likely youll just burn your money.
Speaking of quality, it is indeed an important thing to invest in altcoins, but have you ever noticed something that always happens in altcoin investments that always attract attention, such as many shil coins that are always traded to have a high increase in market capitalization with a very fast time count. In my view, it does not have the quality of shiba, floki, pepe, but it gets good enthusiasm from buyers, which can even provide much higher profits than coins that have real quality and utility in the project. Sometimes this confuses me.
I would suggest sticking to top Altcoin and Bitcoin.
Yes, it is always risky to try new altcoins mostly when you are a newbie to investing, and don't know how to make good research yet. You should depend on the recommendation of others to invest to the top altcoins if you must invest in Altcoins, and not just try every altcoin you come across. You can benefit from investing in new altcoins, but the chances are very small.
If you are a beginner, it is better to invest in bitcoin and learn how to make transactions and storage correctly and safely so as not to lose, like many people out there, the top altcoins are indeed quite good, but you need to pay attention to the development of the ecosystem community activity also needs to be a matter of concern for altcoins so that you do not fall into the trap.
