Given that it is becoming impossible to have a sensible discussion about merit or trust in any way shape or form, without it being derailed with the same incoherent spam about "Lauda's gang", "inner circle of merits" and "show me the facts" from the usual suspect (I mean, we're talking 28 posts in the last 4 hours alone), I would also support self-moderated threads in Meta.

I have him on ignore, and I would encourage everyone else to do the same, but all it takes is one person to try to have a rational conversation with him and the thread is ruined.

Err this know gang member ... look at this user on bpip.org his top 10 fans and top 10 receivers . Then look at theirs.

then go to  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;dtview

then look at every thread on meta where one of them gets questioned on something.

incoherent spam = proven fact they are all scum bag colluders.

Agree 100%, and I would also add that OP's hierarchy seems to be aimed directly at cryptohunter.

Actually it is more inspired by this this user and one forgotten Hero.

@Cryptohunter
I already replied to you here

Regarding this thread.
I already said in thread that it is my observation (that can be wrong or right).

One of the purpose of this thread is also to understand Why Self Moderated thread cannot be allowed in Meta?

Really that is interesting...

What you were saying is not actually trolling in my opinion l. Especially if that person or certain user wanted to point out some things.

Tho, since that is purely subjective. Trolling on the other hand can be easily seen with a purpose of really not going to the exact points of the discussion yet instead to just mess around with the forum(eg: earth is flat topic and all the members here should believe it else all who doesnt were idiots)

why would self moderated topics should not be allowed? My answer would be no it should be allowed. Self moderated is thread is a great weapon for spamming. People who commits trolling can easily be kicked out here than to those who commit spamming

As you say on level 3 troller goes on rampage of creating topic after topic. To my mind these topics are also created in order to get shits posted here. I think maybe creators of such threads own some accounts and they are looking for reason to post, so these threads are one reason and they increase their post counts. This is one way I think because threads like bitcoin kills humanity and so on, where somehow a lot of replies are made, can only be created that way or author really has some serious mental problems.
Also in a lot of thread, everyone acts like a professor, don't give a shit of previous replies and sometimes thinks from thread title and don't even reads OP's post. So this means there are a lot of trolls? lol

A Troll to me is just someone that is having fun. A troll gets their kicks and laughs by posting crazy stuff just to get a rise out of people or piss people off..
Agree 100%, and I would also add that OP's hierarchy seems to be aimed directly at cryptohunter, as it seems to be on the money (don't know about Theymos responding to him, however).  So I don't think trolling starts off as ignorance--it starts off as trying to get a rise out of people, which is exactly why you should not give them the response they're looking for.

Yes, I think self-moderated threads ought to be an option everywhere that makes sense for them to be.  In Auctions, obviously you don't want that, but in Meta I think it's reasonable.  As far as 'freedom of speech' goes, I'm all for it but this is a forum and not a government imposing limits.  It always amazes me that people think the 1st Amendment to the US constitution means that one private citizen can't censor another.  That's not it at all.  It's a protection from the government itself doing the censorship, and not even under all circumstances.

I will say that one of the things I really like about bitcointalk is the lack of censorship as far as language and ideas go.  However, when you've got someone derailing threads as much as cryptoscunter has been lately--AND with all the shitposts being flung about--self-moderated threads are extremely useful.

There was a consensus a while back that one of the ways to fight spam was to make new threads self-modded, but it never really caught on as a widespread thing.  I think it should have, and I've made most of my recent threads self-moderated.  Guess what?  I haven't actually had to delete more than 1-2 posts out of all of them.  Bounty hunters, even if they're interested in the thread, probably won't post in it because they know there's a strong chance of that post getting deleted (and thus they won't get paid for it).  If there was anything on bitcointalk resembling a spammer-spray, that would be it.

Hey it's huge black woman the racist sig spamming sock puppet the pharmacist come to give some insight and spamming his sig.

Nice I like it. Explain on the money HUGE BLACK WOMAN who got busted LOL

How have you even got the bare faced audacity to post on a thread about lowly unpaid non racist supposed (with no supporting evidence) trolling?

You need to be posting your expertise on the

racist trolling  under sock puppets to get more btc dust - and being dt1 and merit source thread...... lol

More and more dirty appearing on these people almost daily

I would love to see how this proven racist financially motivated sock puppet troll voted.  Hence why we need transparent polls.

Oh, so this is not the evolution chart of "you know who" ?
I think you need to add a little burial room beneath that pyramid for the level x trolls that have gone insane
The flat earth guy is a candidate, lately he has gone completely bonkers.

Who is you know who?

Also please detail with each stage of this pyramid with examples what could cause you to believe it was an evolution of you know who.

I am interested in reading this from you and r1s2g3

Start with all the facts they got all mixed up, then how they were proven wrong with no doubt, etc etc ... every stage of this pyramid that r1s2g3 seems to have created.  I would like also to see the exact computation of the 10% figure with example before I can consider going to the next level where they  have somewhere apparently called theymos a coward??

Seems a lot of things there I need to see evidence/examples before I can accept this weird pyramid. Imagine the entire pyramid is built on a pile of nothing....poor old pyramid would just fall over whooops Sad
then we wasted time on a net negative thread that tries to present itself as a case for stopping people presenting factual observations that are highly relevant.

Sadly when I try to find out from r1s2g3... or any others accepting this pyramid they provide nothing Huh seems the current theme in meta...speak lots of opinions and theories then when asked to provide a case for them......whoooooosh they are gone lol

pyramids looks fragile Sad

Here is a good troll to read and lol  bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1376986
ManyProofs - That is a troll.

You posted a good example.

In the altcoin section when someone speaks the truth this person is seen as a troll, people have become so greedy and exaggerated optimism that if someone is in the altcoin section, click on a thread of some altcoin and give their opposite opinion about the development of this altcoin, this person who has a contrary opinion will be treated as a troll

observe exaggerated optimism of the people who post:

[ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

If you post something like:

"Be calm because the price will not rise, it will fall in the next few days because every market is facing a major crisis (there is a lack of demand) and the price this year will not reach $ 1000."

You will be treated like a troll.

That is not what I would call a troll at all. What you describe is just someone that is disgruntled or angry, misinformed or not, they are actually battling for something..

A Troll to me is just someone that is having fun. A troll gets their kicks and laughs by posting crazy stuff just to get a rise out of people or piss people off.. Trolls often larp as something that will aggravate users just for fun.
Like you could go to a gun forum larping as a leftist just to get them all riled up and waste their time.
You could go to a Mercedes forum bitching about your car (that you don't even have) always breaking down and tell them why your Honda is better..
Or you could post about Bcash on this forum. Or just pretend you are an idiot asking stupid questions to frustrate others trying to explain to you and waste all their time..

Here is a good troll to read and lol  bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1376986

Grade two is rather rampant on the forum and most of the reasons is because they came in with the mindset that every cryptocurrency users should not be trusted, hence they tend to take every information skeptically which should not be so in every single situation.

Being skeptical to the information is much different then purposely denying the information to continue with your troll.

Don't bother to reply and argue with them then they will cool automatically. Is it not ? How they will troll if no one reply on their post?

This is the one the best  strategy currently available to us but troll sometimes post again the same thing again even somebody does not reply to them.
It is better if I am able to delete the troll post. Troll will automatically discouraged in posting.

LOL this is your reply?  please answer my questions or you are misinformed and and you entire post is a joke and so are you.

Provide evidence/examples for every stage of your stupid pyramid or just confess you are too stupid to even bring a sensible case.

See a good post like my HQ LQ thread so that you can learn how to make a post.

Think about it first and realised that you may be called on what claims you make.

So look at your silly little pyramid and find examples of my post which fit in with it. If not stfu and admit that 1 you are stupid and 2 we don't need to suffocate free speech here.

10% relevant ... haha that made me smile.

You can not write off facts or highly probable assumptions if they have strongly corroborating events supporting them as trolling. So start to realise that or get back to pulling stats that seems about the limits of your use.  Stick that fact in your trollonomics pyramid

what about defining trolling and bringing examples because maybe YOU are ill informed misrepresented the case entirely and therefore you the troll or negative shitposter?? Let's debate.

Self moderation you want go create it elsewhere. This is a tiny sub board the mods have no problem removing off topic non factual information.

You could ask of course ask.......the pharmacist to openly give his opinion because I found out today that he has a hidden alt HUGE BLACK WOMAN that was used to troll and gain btc dust from sig spamming all over the forum

I think if you can present a full case starting with misunderstanding part, then you can go on to the other parts of your broken theory for instance the  10% relevance (how you derived that specific score) LOL 10% relevance I wonder how you calculated this Smiley

We can together have full public analysis of your case.

Bring you evidence so that a full public analysis can be made.

To me it just seems you are fishing for some merits ?? Do you want some more merits?

As always I am willing to wait for you to bring forth some EVIDENCE

I would rather have a poll on people who make statements with NO CORROBORATING EVIDENCE having their merits reduced to teach them to think before posting and wasting the boards resources.

There are some situations were users lacks knowledge and should therefore allow him or herself to be educated by the forum(forum member), without taking things personal and hence trolling
