I am being harsh on and very skeptical about any highly ranked Politician because I know how they work.  I do not think there is a single country in this World that has a respectable leader who has never been known for lying blatantly in the past.
Maybe you didn't read my whole comment, I know as well as you and everyone that politicians are not trustworthy, we can vote for them but that doesn't mean we have to completely trust them. Politicians are very good at lying and everyone knows it.

Obviously, as I previously said, between Democrats and Republicans, it is clear who the vote leans to if you solely care about Bitcoin.  Though I would honestly NOT vote based solely on how they will treat Bitcoin, simply because it is a whole country, not a Mining Farm.  There are so many more things to care about that is non Currency related.  So maybe you think every thing Trump does is B S, besides his opinion on Bitcoin.  Do you vote for him in that case?

Bitcoin is not even a key issue in this election, it cannot be more important than immigration, abortion, inflation...And to vote for someone we will need to consider many issues, but each person will have different issues. Maybe you care more about inflation, immigration...than bitcoin, then you should vote for someone who is solving those problems better. But what I care about is just bitcoin and cryptocurrency, do you think I should vote and support someone who is against bitcoin and cryptocurrency?

Well I do know that he was gifted a PF70 NGC graded Casascius coin as seen below.  This really sickens me as I am entirely confident that ole Donny boy has absolutely NO CLUE what bitcoin really is and I bet if you sat him down in a room and gave him one hour to explain what either bitcoin or the blockchain were, he would not be able to complete that task.  I mean do any of you actually believe he understand the underlying technologies that make bitcoin so great??

Ah yes I remember you sent me a picture of this. Love that he got a Cass coin, you know THE DON is a coin collector? You can see when he was in the oval office he proudly displayed his huge collection of military challenge coins Cheesy. Honestly I don't care if he knows what a bitcoin is or how it works, what I like is that he wants to make the US energy dominant again so this really helps him not only accomplish that goal but it will also help America stay ahead of the pack in crypto long term & help with adoption and advancements, don't you think?

And this is EXACTLY why he is interested in crypto. He is not interested in crypto because he likes it or anything, hell he might even change his mind about it after he is elected but he is not that kind of guy, not that I mean he is not a liar, he is a very avid liar, I mean he is not one to turn down love and he gets love from the crypto community so he will keep promoting it because he seeks attention at every turn, hell he became candidate at the first place because he wanted the attention. Secondly, he is only interested because he is making money, 21 million dollars is not a joke, its a huge amount of money, Kamala raised 100+ in her first week, so Trump needs a lot more to catch up, and this helps him.

From the title of the thread it sounds as if Donald Trump own all the 21 million dollars bitcoin, and not some fund raising, I believe that Trump is using all the political strategy to gain the support of bitcoin community, and since he knows the level of influence and large community of bitcoin user's and have it can impact his vote number in the coming united states presidential election, Trump is making using of bitcoin and cryptocurrency hype in the most effective ways to gain entry and this approach is really working for Trump as he is correctly the leading candidate in a recent survey of US election, between let hope to see some more exciting time ahead because from now till the election we still have some time and that time is going to expose us to alot of informations that could change our current stand on any of the candidates.

Could be Trump season; 21 million bitcoins and now $21 million for Trump/ A coincidence?

Quote
Former President Donald J. Trump, who became the first major candidate to address a cryptocurrency conference on Saturday, reportedly raised $21 million during the Bitcoin 2024 event.
The funds reportedly came primarily from a private event, where a photo cost at least $60,000.
The campaign had previously raised $4 million in crypto since beginning to accept digital asset donations in May before the start of the conference.

I do hope Trump is going to make Bitcoin prosper as he is campaigning right now else he is going to be the first akd last political leader that will ever going to be love by the Bitcoin community. I'm not sure if in the history of Bitcoin there has been any US political candidates that has influence Bitcoin price like him. He indeed lucky and I'm sure more and more will come as donation because Kamala doesn't really have future for Bitcoin and she will practice the same policies Biden started.

But I have a question, all this crypto donations are to be used to support his campaign and other funding, are they going to sell this Bitcoin to be able to fund the campaign and election. There is no difference if they are going to dump their donation on the market to get fiat. Holding this will be historical to prove the worthiness of Bitcoin as a store of value.

We should stop looking at his past to judge him in the present, just like Blackrock's CEO recently admitted his mistake of ignoring bitcoin years ago. I'm not saying that Trump is really friendly to bitcoin but everyone can change their opinion on bitcoin, we don't need to be too harsh on them.

You would be ridiculous to think that this all went to his personal wealth.*

He's running a presidential campaign, so he needs to use all of that for money for advertising. He cannot take the voter base for guaranteed anymore, especially now that Joe Biden is no longer running and he's running against Kamala Harris.

*That being said, it would not surprise me if he ends up using it for money laundering or court settlements instead, although that would be a very stupid move from him.

With a Net Worth of 5.33 billion USD it would be very stupid, and someone who has amassed that fortune you can dislike him all you want but he doesn't get that far up the ladder by doing such stupid things.

So yes, the normal thing is that he spends it to finance campaign funds, which is in addition to what he had already raised previously from people and companies related to cryptocurrencies.

Didn't the Saudi dictator and the murderer of Washington Post journalist already pay his legal expenses?

I think he only paid up to his 2021 expenses, someone needs to fax him the new invoice in 6 months Wink

Maybe that's the reason why he love bitcoin for now since he see that there's lot of things he can take advantage on. Then to many money flow on cryptocurrency, so instead of hating it much better for them to adapt since maybe this could bring something huge boost to their economy especially if they can regulate well the transactions happening on bitcoin or cryptocurrency scene and make sure to cut some taxes for people who use it.

But then again lets not put all our trust on whatever has been said by politician since as people know they are professional liars. So don't hope for further development and focus on something realistic things to happen. if they deliver then its good but if not then there's nothing to lose, but for sure people will be in raged and he might now win again if he do the things he promise in election period.

Your thoughts are likely correct because all politicians are just only looking for every opportunity that would favour them in the poll so that they would use it as a good point to gain the heart of the masses. So taking advantage of the Bitcoin community is a good strategy which I think he would really benefit from.

I really do not think about him turning around against Bitcoin enthusiast after being elected by that same pro Bitcoin supporters. You know one thing, change is dynamic and not static. President Trump must have taken his time to study about Crypto and Bitcoin and that has possibly enlightened his thoughts and perspective towards crypto and Bitcoin hence his support for Bitcoin and Crypto currency in the USA.

And people thought that NFTs were a scam  Grin

In all seriousness though, reading articles like this reminds me of how easy it is to make money if you think outside the box.

Basically working for an income seems almost like an insult these days, where you spend all your waking hours renting your body and brain to someone and the pay is usually not that great.

Even if you are on the, say, highest 10% of the income earners, you still cannot afford a great house in most of the western world. It's getting out of control.

Now that he is so deep in the Bitcoin stuff, it will be very hard on him if he wins the Elections and he does not show the same support for Bitcoin or, worse, he turns against it.  Though I would not be surprised if all of a sudden 'something happens' and 'the best choice' is to try and push Bitcoin back.
I have thought of this too, because politicians can be so conny and truckish by using a strategy to get what they want expecially during election, because during first tenure of Trump he didn't talk so much about bitcoin as compeard to now, or does he suddenly developed a feeling of likeness for bitcoin after he was out of seat? But as the case may be I wish him well this time if his passion for bitcoin is genuine or not he has always been a good man because I haven't heard so bad about him. I believe he will do better but promoting bitcoin when his elected in will be more better for the bitcoiners.

As for the promises of politicians, we should not put all our hope in them because the nature of politics is evil and it is no longer strange to us. We can vote for them because voting for them is also giving ourselves a chance, but we should never naively put all our trust in them, politicians who break promises are part of their lives.

I stand with Palestine.
I think connection between $21 million raised and 21 million Bitcoins is not a big deal. Donald Trump event was just way to collect money from rich people who wanted to meet him and take picture. He raised $21 million which shows he can get a lot of money from donors. He made promises to get this money but we do not know if he will keep them. Event was just a way to help him become President again. People are focusing too much on the Bitcoin part and not enough on Trump fundraising and political goals.

Trump can Make Bitcoin Great Again

You are correct, there is little chance he knows much about Bitcoin code and the underlying technologies. Knowing what a poor choice the Americans have, perhaps Trump is a bit less horrible than Harris. Having a former President and top candidate going to a BTC conference never happened before, so this is really big news.

what people need to realise is, unless trump makes a truly defined promise such as repealing certain bitcoin limiting laws, his appearance is just about waving his hands around faking his adoration of a community to win votes

trump already had a chance to make bitcoiners lives easier but he let the IRS force them into paying taxes even though they didn't convert to fiat! that just shows you how he doesn't really care and he has no intention of changing that either. so i don't think he's as big of a friend to people as they think on this forum.

I would definitely be very disappointed as a Republican voter particularly if his sudden adoration for Bitcoin is what made me lean toward his vote.  The thing is.  Even if he shows hatred all of a sudden, it is still only the voters who lose.  He does not.  No matter the case, if he wins the Election he is still a winner.  Not liking Bitcoin all of a sudden is not significant enough to provoke significant anger and consequences from the public, so it is all in his favor.

Bitcoin Casino Est. 2013

Everything could be a coincidence and that is if there is no much of the political hands over it, lately now, it is more obvious that Trump is now becoming the center of discussion with his take over bitcoin, this only clearly shows that with bitcoin support, one can even make his dream come through, his appearance at the bitcoin conference and the money raised could all be towards the continuity of both the campaign and his ambition towards bitcoin adoption as a legal tender if he emerge the winner, sooner, thing will suddenly change for go.

Regarding the numbers of threads, we are having lately concerning this same discussion over Trump, it could have been better if there is a unique thread to constitute all discussions.
Based on what I read, It seems that what you have explained is what I think the reason why trump became the center lf discussion because he wants to go back to WH and also become more richer than before. If not, then what's the reason for trump going to the cryptocurrency event if it is only getting more richer by the day. As many people would say, it could be a coincidence and it may not be a coincidence at all.
