I think the awareness on cryptocurrency on a global scale is still small especially when we look at developing countries that majority of population isn't the technologically involved nor aware. In our country, cryptos are seen as some money investment that some think of it as scam. Also, majority would be overwhelmed with the technicality of this digital currency. I think, there's still a long road towards full acceptability of this new currency.

I hate to see where the current system is going. I live in Europe, and here the government wants to cancel all paper money and force us to pay with our credit cards.
I'm surprised that you live in Europe but many people there aren't familiar with crypto. Moreover, it seems your government prefers to use digital currency over paper money, people there should be a bit familiar with digital currency like Bitcoin.

Anyway, can you tell me why your government has the intention to cancel paper money? As far as I know, most governments like to use paper money (fiats). Especially like in my country, there will be a big problem if the government removes paper money and only use credit cards. It is something hard to apply for low-class economy people. Unless you live in a rich country where all the citizens are at a high-class economic level.
You will be surprised to know that not all people that are from Europe truly have the intention of using Bitcoin or investing in it because they never truly have trust in it since it's not controlled by the government.
Is not they have never heard about it but they don't even care about diving into it. I have a friend that currently lives in Greece and the last time we talked was 2years ago before we lost contact cause he's into Medical practitioner (Doctor to be precise) I ask if he heard he said yes but he never want to go into its base on trusting the system.

This is an important issue, can people trust cryptocurrency.  Cryptocurrency is electronic money, many people don't trust it and most people don't know about cryptocurrency. However, out of all other coins Bitcoin is the least risky and cryptocurrency investment considered to be very safe. The number of people investing in cryptocurrencies is high among young people and their level of knowledge is also high. This trend is very less among older people, because they have very little knowledge about these accesses. The country is going digital day by day and I think cryptocurrency will come in everyone's life.
I still know many investors who never trusted in cryptocurrency and that's there business. We all have the choice to go for whatever we want and invest in what we think we give us profits. Cryptocurrency is not made up of one coin, there are many and thousands of thousands in the market and we can't count them all. The market will always move whether we have trust in the market or not. It is good for us to test something before we discriminate ignorantly.

Well, the truth is that many individuals have heard about Bitcoin as it usually appears on social media but they don't have time to know more about it because of lack of interest. We can't blame them either nor these old guys out there as they are no longer have the interest to invest.

Trust can't be build instantly but this can just be found if they fully understand crypto. But the question is when if they have in their the worries and afraid to take risk, and much more if they don't have the reason to know it - interest.
True. People may have often heard about bitcoin and its positive effects, but since they don’t have the entire interest on it, then they don’t give it a time to know and understand completely about bitcoin. And for me, it’s understandable because of the scam accusations that is often associated to its name. Although some have chose to trust bitcoin and take the risk and invest, but still majority seem doubtful and become close minded when the topic is bitcoin and how profitable its investment.

My father is about 65, and he knows what bitcoin is. He even invested in it. He learned about BTC through me, but even at his age, he is open-minded and always eager to learn new things. So saying no one knows who is old, or what bitcoin is - its incorrect.
An open-minded mind like your father is what is needed. Able to accept new things positively and want to learn about Bitcoin.
65 years old is quite old, but his enthusiasm for learning is still quite strong.

as a child you must direct it to the right place, practice Bitcoin investment and explain what will be obtained from the investment.
Getting old is certain, but the spirit to know new knowledge knows no age limit.

Yeah most of the people in my country who are older also did not know about crypto, it is most known buy young people because they have new gadgets and they are more curious than the old one, maybe it is because young people now a days is actively involved in social media and they are a user of the very well known online play to earn games that using crypto one example is axie infinity so it is not surprising that most of the young people know more about crypto than the old one.
The majority of parents in my place also don't know anything about bitcoin or the digital world, even those who still easily don't understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency really are. they even think Bitcoin is like digital money that is worthless and only a facility for gambling or fraud.

There is not much education for the understanding of crypto and Bitcoin, my environment still adheres to thoughts that cannot accept advanced technology such as Bitcoin and other digital money. Fiat payments are all they know and nothing else.

-snip-
Every cryptocurrency lover wants bitcoin to be widely acknowledged so that everything will eventually fall into place and those who lack knowledge of it, will begin to trust crypto.
The ideal to provide widespread education so that bitcoin is known in its own environment, becomes a difficult task.
When the surrounding environment does not support it, there is nothing else to do but just shut up and do it yourself.

There have been several times I told them about my work in crypto, but they were even confused and some were dismissive, even though the income I have exceeds their work income. Online media has reported quite a lot about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but because maybe bitcoin or crypto in my country is not allowed as a means of payment and only as a commodity asset, knowledge of crypto and Bitcoin does not have much interest.

Recently, I've been wondering, and based on the people I live with, I'd say that only 20% of them know what cryptocurrency is.
Sometimes I ask my friend or colleague if he knows what Bitcoin is, and if they're young (20-35 years old), they say, "Yes, I've heard about it. But I don't know much about it."
If I'm talking to older people (40–60), mostly they don't know what it is.

We are living in a world of big changes in every aspect of life. But do you think it will be time when cryptocurrency will come into our lives and be normal for all people? Will people be able to trust crypto?

I'm wondering what your opinion is about this.

Once it will. But older people mostly do not need it

It will take many years for crypto to become a part of our life and for people to trust it. Although many nations have not yet accepted cryptocurrency, it is still in its infancy and many individuals are unaware of its existence or how it operates. Every cryptocurrency lover wants bitcoin to be widely acknowledged so that everything will eventually fall into place and those who lack knowledge of it, will begin to trust crypto.

Honestly, noone, literally noone in old age range know what Bitcoin is, here.

Older people lived in an era where, the only thing that has value for them is money. They don't even know at that time that a thing called "stock market" even exists. Only a few people maybe, but most don't know it. Now that they are old already, they don't have time to bother themselves and try to learn a thing called cryptocurrency. I mean for themselves, they are old already, and they wanted to live their lives the way they wanted to without any hindrances whatsoever.

As for the younger ones, at least different assets like crypto, stock market and others are becoming more popular already, and with the help of social media and the internet, these young ones can see it easily, and it's up to them if they will try to learn it or not.

TBH, it's hard. With all the scams happening in the crypto world, it's hard for the people to trust it. Yes the world is changing, and it's changing very rapidly, but trusting crypto might took some years or even decades for it to happen. Aside from trust, there are some problems as well.

As with any new technology, there are always concerns about trust and security. Cryptocurrency has had its share of controversies, such as high-profile hacks and fraud cases, which have made some people wary of using it. However, advancements in blockchain technology, which underlies most cryptocurrencies, are continually improving security and transparency, which could help build trust in the long run.

I think Bitcoin will be used by almost everyone and know that it will take a few more years. Because the new generations who are now have a lot of interest in Bitcoin. So when these new generations are 35 to 40 years old, everyone will  Hoping to learn about and use Bitcoin.

I like how you think here, and I personally also see that this is possible.

I think definitely people will believe about Bitcoin.  And especially Bitcoin is the first to be trusted because people are not as stupid as they used to be.

Here, I don't agree that people were stupid; I would say that they didn't have access to knowledge the way that we do. We can now find anything on the Internet and verify whether or not the information is genuine. Back then (depending on what country we are talking about), information was limited and often manipulated, e.g., by newspapers.

I think the word stupid is used inappropriately and should not be meant to define old generation as literally stupid. We've been there too where we had no knowledge of Bitcoin, the only difference is that they have less or close to access about it. It must have also been a privilege for us to know about Bitcoin because we've grown up with technology and we're comfortable to take advantage of it.

I don't understand what he means by stupid here, but I also feel uncomfortable. I think if we call people who don't accept bitcoin stupid, that means including our parents and grandparents who gave birth to and raised us to this day.

My parents know I love bitcoin investing, but they don't like bitcoin when they hear about the risks it can bring, and I find that completely normal and understandable for them. I don't even want them to invest in it because I don't want them to risk or suffer more in old age. Each generation of us will have a different way of life and outlook on life, we should not impose our thoughts on others.

Honestly, noone, literally noone in old age range know what Bitcoin is, here. They only mention they heard it at news on tv or paper. I think its impossible to teach them how to Bitcoin because I see they are as lost generation. They are too far away to technological development. But with middle ages and young, I think its not very hard to gain their trust. Especially young see bitcoin as new technology and try it occasionally in daily life. They are very curious kind. Middle ages people on other hand are bit more annoying. They like Bitcoin but can't exactly trust it. They see it "too volatile".

Yes, we have no right to call people stupid and say that only people who know and use bitcoin are smart. I know many people who know about bitcoin but don't invest in it, simply don't like it for some reason, but they have rich, successful lives their way. Those people are much better than us and not as stupid as you think, everyone has a different mindset, and we should respect each other. Bitcoin is optional, it's optional, and it's not a measure between people.

Trust comes into play when people are allowed to know about a particular technology in its original form.
Many people are deceived about cryptocurrency and the majority of them are not willing to make personal research to know what cryptocurrency is about and especially Bitcoin.
If the people who uses the fiat system understands how rotten the system is and how their money loses value on a daily basis. They will embrace the bitcoin. But the government has painted Bitcoin in such a way that people run away from it and the minority few who are privileged to understand the things of Bitcoin stick to it for so long and would not want to leave the Bitcoin community.

So as it is a matter of time, the scales will fall out from the eyes of many and bitcoin will be the new financial system to be adopted.
