Everyone keeps pointing at Nvidia, yes you are right but there are some AMD cards that are way cooler than you expected too, for example the RX5500 and RX5600, if you don't try them you won't know, they are extremely cold
RX5600 has long been out of store, and in the secondary market their price reaches 800-850 dollars due to the limited supply. These video cards are probably the best ones for mining Ethereum, but they will lose to Nvidia video cards in mining other coins. But for those people who bought these video cards in 2020 or earlier, this does not matter, because they have paid back their investment several times.

Guys I need your opinions, I'm having a hard time choosing from a RTX2080Ti and a RX6700 for 1000$, is this a good price presently? Also which one has the highest hashrate thus more electricity efficiency ? If you are a owner of either one pls drop your comments and your max hashrate
1000$ for a RTX2080Ti is pretty good, I have a friend here trying to sell a RTX2080ti for 1300$ but I'm in for a long term I don't know about you, bear market can come at anytime so if you aren't prepared for that don't buy the card, to ROI will take months

AMD cards will be in trouble once ETH switched to PoS algorithm because they are less profitable on other algorithm that isn't ETHASH, as for Nvidia they are way better because they supports other algorithms that are more profitable, most especially this RTX2080Ti the card is very good for other coins, go for the RTX2080Ti

This isn't always the case. Sure back in late 2017 early 2018 you would of been better off with Nvidia because it had higher speeds with Equihash and a few other algos. However back in 2013....2014 nobody used Nvidia to mine any scrypt based coins like Dogecoin or Litecoin.

I found it odd why only AMDs were used in 2013 but its because they were the most efficient and Nvidia just couldn't compete in that department. Hence why most people mined with AMD gpus back then. So who knows what will happen in the future when ETH goes POS.

There might be nothing worth mining and you will just need to sell your GPU on eBay or there will be some new algo however the efficiency might be the same as the AMD or worse. You can't predict these things.

low power cards like the 3070 or 3060ti are very good.

easy to cool and pretty quiet.

Where did you find a store with a $ 1000 RX6700 graphics card?
If you do not want problems in mining, then it is better to buy video cards that do not get very hot and consume little electricity.
The RTX2080Ti is very hot and has a lot of power consumption. The RX6700 has a cool graphics card and low power consumption, but a small hash rate.
But I would probably buy a new RX6700 graphics card for $ 1000.
I don't get you, is RX6700 getting very hot when mining with the GPU? Or you are just spreading the warning? I don't believe that RTX2080Ti gets that hot too, if you are talking about hot 🔥 then start from RTX3080 and RTX3090 you will see the big difference
I can write differently. I prefer video cards with power consumption of 80-120 watts. These cards can be called "cold". There is no need to make special shelves and cooling for them, and these video cards work perfectly in an open case. RTX2080Ti requires more maintenance in the summer and hashrate of 55 megahash with 180 watts of power consumption is not the best result for today.

Ofcourse 3080 320W and 3090 350w they will be hotter than rtx2080Ti 250w.
Haha! RTX2080Ti is using 250 watts? This is why I have issue with big cards, two gtx1660 will do 63MH, same hashrate as a RTX2080TI but at 150watts and RTX2080Ti is taking 250watts ? That's a lot
Every mining softwares are liars when it comes to total power consumption of graphic cards, you need wattmeter to measure real power draw from the wall

250Wats is TDP while mining eth it consumes less like 170-180Watts.

I think you made a mistake friend, OP is talking about RX6700 but you shared a HD6700 link, mind correcting that? I think when it comes to power efficiency the RX6700 wins, anyone using this card for mining?

I like Amd most for mining but Nvidia in this case is a winner even for me and for the sole reason it offers a 59 Mhsh in Ethereum hashrate against a lower one for Rx 6700.Even if Ethereum goes Pos(which I doubt will go anytime soon) there are a lot of other algorithms you can use your card on.

I'd buy a RX5700XT for 1000$ but not RX6700, let the dollar fits the hashrates mate, don't just buy because they are newer tech or versions, sometimes even older cards performs better than new cards, the true winner here is RTX2080Ti
