In the match of the day, we watched Konyaspor vs Antalyaspor. First of all, we should say that Konyaspor have not lost for four weeks. This week they extended it to five weeks by not losing to Antalyaspor at home. Frankly speaking, I thought that Konyaspor wouldn't have much of a challenge against Antalyaspor since they didn't have a goal anyway, which was the case. Because Antalyaspor are closer to the relegation zone and need points more than Konyaspor. With this result, Antalyaspor will increase their points to 29 and breathe easier for 1-2 weeks.

There is no finalized event in the league yet, but we can say that Fenerbahçe has suffered a heavy damage with the defeat of Beşiktaş.If they had won this match, they would have put pressure on Galatasaray and reduced the difference in the championship race to maybe 3 points. Now the point difference is 9 with one match less and I must say that there is still a difference that can still be closed. When we look at Galatasaray's fixture, they have difficult matches and it is possible for them to lose points. But from this week onwards, Fenerbahçe must definitely win all their matches.Beşiktaş match will be a big lesson for them.Ali koç and his management must take decisions to overcome this defeat in some way, otherwise it seems difficult for them.

I doubt that Fenerbahçe will cause anyone any danger to Galatasaray in terms of points distance, from the beginning Fenerbahçe had good chances to become champions, they were at the top with some comfortable advantage, they couldn't keep that comfortable advantage and now it's too late because the moment Galatasaray was at the top it already became an impossible mission for Fenerbahçe to overcome galatasaray, the truth be told that Fenerbahçe are not prepared to be champions, in my opinion galatasaray is the only candidate worthy of being champion

the rest of the teams are struggling to stay in the league, Fenerbahçe is in a position to just fight to stay in second place, no more than that, I think even the Fenerbahçe board probably always aimed for them to be in second place , except that they were lucky to have stayed in the first position temporarily, but I doubt that from the beginning they were really fighting to win the league with the players they have. jorge jesus is a good coach, but to win the league they will need more investment in players

Why don't they just give 3 points to all teams for those 2 teams? 6 points automatically to all teams, played or not, change the results if you have to, but that way everyone gets equal chances and equal points and there is nothing unfair about it.

They played with teams that were withdrawn from the league before and they lost those games. Why should they be awarded 3 points for the matches they lost?

The opening game of this week will be played between Konyaspor and Antalyaspor. Konyaspor had beaten Galatasaray before the break given to the league due to the national matches. After the national matches, they played a draw with Ümraniyespor. I think they've been playing well in the last few weeks. On the other hand, Antalyaspor have not been performing well in the last few weeks. They are in the relegation zone. I think Konyaspor are the favorites in this match that they will play in front of their fans.

Because if the Federation makes such a decision, they are afraid that Galatasaray will lose the championship. In order for Galatasaray to become champions, the difference in points must remain like this. Considering the injustice done at the beginning of the season, it's not strange that they took such a decision. Frankly, the federation should have resigned already. Football cannot be managed with such incompetent management.
No matter what they do after this time, they can't clean up their previous mess. Unfortunately, they left a black mark on the league with their decisions throughout the season.

There is something going on in the world of football in turkey but I am not entirely sure what. There are too many twitter news I am seeing, teams going back and forth with each other and the federation and I tried to translate and it goes back to earthquake thing but I am missing the whole point.

What happened, and what is going on exactly? I get the general idea that some teams are not happy with how teams withdrew from the league and how that was seen, but it is obvious that those teams couldn't play, so if that's okay, then what remains as the problem about that? If someone can clear that out for me, that would be lovely, google translate didn't help me enough to understand it fully.
The federation has made a decision, you're probably seeing the news about it. Currently, 2 teams cannot play and there is a big problem with the matches of these teams.
If each opponent of these teams had won 3-0, the ranking in the league at the moment could have been a little different. But an unfair decision was made and some teams had a bit more advantage because of it. They made a very important decision, and because of this decision, there were serious ranking changes

Since all gets the same points, and all teams got the same 6 points means fair and equal to all, that means nobody can moan about anything at all. Nobody could say it was unfair because there is nothing special about it, or you could just say zero to all of those games too, like they were not played, so zero points to all teams or six points to all teams, that should be more than enough isn't it? Have they considered that as an option? That's what my nation does when a team withdraws, which hasn't happened in 17 years but that's the most fair approach.

Federation decided that leftover matches that will be played against earthquake region teams (Hatay and Gaziantep) should be all 3-0. But matches that were already played stayed. So if you lost to Hatay, too bad for you. But if you didn't play against them yet, then you get 3 extra points.
Some teams didn't like it because it gives extra advantage to other teams that didn't play their matches against Hatay and Gaziantep (means extra 6 points without playing). I also think its bit unfair and matches already played should probably be changed to 3-0. But federation made announcement yesterday and said they won't change their decision.
Also only 2 teams will relegate this season.

On Friday we will start the week with the Konyaspor-antalyaspor match. We can say that Konyaspor is the advantageous side as they will play at home. I think Antalyaspor should definitely get points from this match as they are closer to the relegation pot. They have to win against such comfortable teams in order not to get into trouble in the following weeks. The difference of 4 points is small and if their opponents win 2 games, this difference will melt away.

Konyaspor has been able to play a little better for a few games, they were playing very badly before. Antalyaspor is one of the weakest teams in the league, but they need to get points from this game. I think Antalyaspor has a chance to score points from this match, since Konyaspor has not yet fully entered the form.
I think it could end in a draw, the strength of the players on both teams is almost at the same level right now Smiley

There is a recovery in Konyaspor after the Fenerbahçe match. After that match they got 2 wins and 2 draws. Among these wins, there is also the Galatasaray match. Coming from behind to win the match was a morale and motivation for them. This time, they will fight against an opponent who has not been able to keep their form and whose football in one match and the other match do not match each other. It is not an easy match for both teams. We are likely to see a goalless draw.

I don't think Antalya will relegate this season because Football Federation made relegation list limited with only 2 teams. Teams under Antalyaspor are pretty much worse than Antalyaspor. On the other hand Konyaspor definitely should not be underestimated. In my opinion they will win against Antalyaspor too. I guess odds aren't defined yet but low score Konyaspor win can be tried. Antalya always has hard times scoring goals. Score can be like 2-0, 1-0 or 2-1.
The number of relegation teams may have been reduced but it doesn't change the fact that Antalya is still at risk. Antalyaspor can sometimes get surprise results and I expect plenty of goals in this match.I think both sides will play an open match.I mean konyaspor will want to play with a lot of pressure and antalyaspor will respond to it.I expect it to be a match where neither side will care too much about the defense. Antalyaspor needs to get a draw from this match to at least relax for a few more weeks.

I think this was mainly caused by Fenerbahçe's lack of motivation and dedication. Jorge Jesus who is Fenerbahçe manager, is pretty much weird guy. He doesn't seem passionate about football played on the pitch. In this match he didn't even properly answer Beşiktaş's goals with changing tactics so on. Fenerbahçe fans were annoyed too, they directly turned against board, so team quickly lost its dedication. I don't understand Fenerbahçe fans by the way, they are ones that quickly stop supporting team.

If Valencia had been able to score the second penalty, then things could have been different, but after that Tosun scored two quick goals and that changes everything. It is clear that in such a situation the fans will be upset, but the support Fenerbahce was very good. And if I can argue with the first penalty, then the second penalty was 100% and after that moment Fenerbahce remained in the majority, after the removal of Souza. But how could they lose after that? The fans supported the team, but not as actively as in the first half, it's hard to accept that your team concedes 4 goals in the second half.

After they got scored the first goal, Besiktas started to play a whole different type of football game. They played near perfectly and guess they needed some sort of reason to start playing better. The first 30 minutes or so of the game Fenerbahce basically dominated the whole game, it wasn't even remotely close, Fener missed some chances as well and they were just too good. After that first goal, which was a penalty to begin with, Besiktas started to play whole lot of differently and that was amazing to see, they really scored so easily and so well and Fener couldn't stop them at all, it was amazing to watch. As a GS fan, I support this result Cheesy

About Fenerbahce I've heard they have contacted with Sergen Yalcin for the management job. If this is true then Jorge Jesus is leaving the team soon.

All season long, we've been reading news about the possibility of Jorge Jesus leaving the team. I think they will not be able to keep Jorge Jesus in the team at the end of the season. Whether Fenerbahçe are the champion or not, he will leave this team. That's why I'm not surprised by a news about Fenerbahçe's search for a coach. However, these rumors did not seem very convincing to me as they specifically mentioned Sergen Yalçın. Because he played in Fenerbahçe when he was a football player, but I don't think he will do the same thing today as a coach. Please let this be a joke! He is a legend of Beşiktaş, he cannot be a coach in Fenerbahçe. Nooooo! Please noo! :)

Ghezzal has just come back from injury and is not in good form, but we are not in the title race as he has spent most of this season battling injuries. If he had come back a little earlier, we might be talking about different things now.

In the last match of the week, we watched the match between istanbulspor and karagümrük. Both teams played a balanced game. Karagümrük is a team in form in recent weeks and they have no problem in scoring goals. We saw them score goals in this match. They won the match with the goal they scored in the first half. Karagümrük was the side that put the pressure on in the first half. In the second half, it was the hosts Istanbulspor who started fast.
With the withdrawal of Gaziantep and Hatayspor from the league, they entered the risky area in the relegation zone. They need to make an effort as 2 teams will be relegated this year.

Definitely a derby game, that much is certain. The hype was there, the game was very chaotic, there were a few scenes were players got angry at each other, there were controversy and many other things as well. I have to say that as a person who is not even from there and not fans of these teams, just betting interested, I would say this was the type of game that I really like to see.

This happens with England and La Liga as well, when teams have famous games, like city vs united, or Madrid vs Barcelona type of games and it becomes so much entertaining to watch. I hope that it gets better and better, but I fear that Galatasaray just took the lead for good with this.

Yeah, that Fenerbahce L to Besiktas was a bitter one, but we can't lose faith just yet. Galatasaray's got game, but they ain't untouchable! Word on the street is Fenerbahce might scoop up Sergen Yalcin as their new manager. If that goes down, it could be the switch-up they need to bounce back and chase that championship. And hey, don't sleep on the power of positive vibes. If we all ride for Fenerbahce, thick or thin, who knows what they can pull off! So let's keep our heads up, and trust in Fenerbahce's ability to make a comeback in this league race.

To be realistic, nothing is over. Because Fenerbahçe is missing a match and the last match of the league is with Galatasaray, the difference is 6 points. In other words, Galatasaray losing a match and Fenerbahçe not making any mistakes can carry the race to the last week. But Fenerbahçe went into a serious collapse in morale. They didn't expect such a defeat in the derby. If they were defeated in a normal way, they wouldn't be so demoralized. They thought that they had won the match when the opponent was missing a player, they were ahead in score, and they had won the 2nd penalty. With the penalty missed, all their plans were ruined. Such a collapse would be very difficult to recover. They want the resignation of the management, but they forget that they are still in the race.

We would be talking differently today if Valencia could evaluate those exquisite passes by Arda Güler. Valencia is a goal machine, but he didn't have much luck in this match. Besiktas made me feel very happy yesterday, they could only have turned a derby match so well that they were behind with the game they played. Redmond may have played the best game of his career against Fenerbahçe in Kadıköy, he had every goal. Cenk Tosun should also be congratulated it was really fine.
