Personal opinion:
If you feel annoyed by such warning then you are trying to post AFAP and not trying to add new value to the topic you are trying to respond to.
Reading above comment, which was posted while you are writing a response, will help you improve the quality of the responses, and therefore disabling this feature is not a good thing.
I agree with you, and the warning feature should be very useful for adding a lot of value to post quality. By default it really doesn't matter to me, and so far I've never disabled it even after almost 7 years. But maybe, it just depends on the habits of each user and the forum provides that feature for them.

Instead of thinking about this feature, I tend to think how to ask the admin to enable email notification when one topic is deleted. In the last week, 2 of my posts were also deleted in one topic that probably has more than 1 page, of course not an issue with the deletion, but I just wanted to get notification that the topic and all posts were deleted.

I could recall I had once disabled this warning and I didn’t like it that much. When a new topic is created(mostly question like posts) you will like to get it answered and in the process someone might have done which at times look almost similar to my own suggestions. Without the warning I end up posting a similar answer which is regarded as spamming to me. So personal I feel it’s safer leaving the warning enabled to avoid cases of my kind.

Concerning the post delete notification some members have requested for same but I think it won’t be easier since there might be lots of posts once a particular thread is deleted. Just like you said a post of more than a page was deleted that automatically means close to or more than 20 post which in turns mean 20+ members might need to be notified. But it’s frustrating seem posts been deleted with notification

So I am sharing this topic with everyone. Hope this post will be helpful especially for new users who are new and don't know about this . And now those who do bounties. they know that the bounties are limited which makes it a barrier to post POA quickly.

The warning is fine at least it has served a real purpose to the forum members. Users can be warned if there is any reply is posted while writing a reply, maybe the user can refresh the page and add something new or delete some lines before posting the reply.

So I am sharing this topic with everyone. Hope this post will be helpful especially for new users who are new and don't know about this . And now those who do bounties. they know that the bounties are limited which makes it a barrier to post POA quickly. so this will be very important for them.

Maybe they rush or don't rush but in my case I don't actually rush while typing a reply to a topic. So I am not going to turn off the warning. It is funny though a good number of people don't know that this warning can be turned off, including me.

I find the warning for new replies useful, although I never knew it could be turned off in the first place. It is useful to me in the sense that in cases where someone answered a question I have in regard to a thread or replies something similar to what I was about to post, or maybe new posts by OP countering the initial OP post, I will have to make changes to mine before posting.

But the thread is useful for those who might not find those warning of any benefit to them and before now i didn't know such feature exist. Thanks for the thread.

I was also unaware of this trick, but I think it might be useful in some cases where posting is in a hurry. I think this post is mainly useful especially for those who do bounty which you already mentioned.  But in my case there is no problem with the warning coming, rather many times I get to know about the update while posting.
But I would like your permission to translate this post of yours in my local thread Because I think there is a huge publics for whom it could be helpful.
Since this is a guide about this forum, So if it is known by everyone, it can be useful to many users. So you can translate it to your local language if you want.  And you can post on your local boards. I will not oppose it, I grant you permission.

Best regards

I did not know that this notification display of warning can be disabled, just the first time that I am knowig about this. But I still see no reason to disable it because it is not annoying at all and it notifies a user that another user or some other users have posted before the user's post. It only requires just two click for the user's post to be posted, not annoying at all, but people will have different preference.
Dude,I'm hearing this for the first time too ... Like WTF?
Theymos is really a genius to have made something like that as an option to synchronize; cus sometimes, I really see it as a bug or something... But on the other hand, it's helpful cus it makes me realize (when I'm already done typing) that someone else made a post/ review....so I'll be like -- I need to Check out for what the person said -- just so I don't repeat the same thing....
Just like when I was typing this one, it happened.

Tbh i never knew it was possible to turn off this warning, and i don't think any user has previously made any thread about it, but now i know it can be turned off, i wouldn't still turn it off. Quite a lot of times i have cleared out and not made a post after i saw that warning because the last poster had already said exactly what i was going to say; if that warning wasn't there i would have posted exactly what a user directly above me had just said, and i think it then becomes/would have been a redundant post.

Even though I have been here for over a year, and like to think myself fluent in how the forum works I must confess I was ignorant of this feature. It never once occurred to me that the notification could be turned off, maybe because it’s been useful to me. I usually preview my posts to see how they look before posting, and sometimes the notification comes up and I find that someone has already posted what I wanted to. It’s keeps me from repeating what’s been said 20 seconds before and I don’t end up looking like a copycat.

Am equally just getting getting to this realisation as well and it just tells me, there are a lot of other features that we just might equally not know about. It must have been very annoying to OP to have search it out.
I don't find it any annoying at all and as such, it's not a necessity to be turned off. Maybe you don't realise it's usefulness as it alerts you to review current response which might carry same judgement or suggestion as you are about to make to avoid repetition or spreading same exact ideas or could invalidate a response as it could be the announcement of the closure of a thread.
There could be a lot of other reasons that validates it so, it ain't a bad feature.

I've never taken issue with the message because actually it will give me more time to read more replies while I'm writing than reading them after I've posted. As a result I never feel rushed to post it as it is not about first come first serve race. But if you and others are annoyed by it, maybe your tutorial is of use.

Actually I've known how to do this for a long time, but I don't think I intend to disable it. It was left alive until now.

OP, if you want to reach more newbie then I think your thread deserves to be on Beginners & Help board.

This topic is very simple but there are many people who don't know that this warning can be turned off and I couldn't find any previous topic about this. Many times when I go to post, I feel very annoyed to see such a warning, so it is necessary to turn it off.  So I am sharing this topic with everyone. Hope this post will be helpful especially for new users who are new and don't know about this . And now those who do bounties. they know that the bounties are limited which makes it a barrier to post POA quickly. so this will be very important for them. But if I have done any mistake by posting this then I apologize to everyone. So let's see the  screenshots below .how to turn it off.

Well, that's useful  Grin Everyone for sure is annoyed by this notification, especially when you finish your post then all of a sudden when you clicked the post button it will not go through, then you need to click the post button again. I remember there are times that I lost my post since I thought my post go through then I need to retype it again which is annoying.

But thinking about the notification it reminds you that there was a new message posted in a thread and you could base your post or maybe reply to that new post, I think it's actually useful and I will not disable that notification.

Thanks @OP I'm not aware if this forum has such feature, also hide user's avatar and signature too.

For me, turn off the new replies isn't good because posting in this forum isn't a competition to create the fastest post, you're need to create a high quality post and if there's user who beat you above, it mean you need to review his post and if he wrote something wrong, you can correct it.

I think if there's above member who have same opinion with your post, you're shouldn't to post it since it just make spam in this forum.

You're absolutely right. I agree, no need to rush your post or what so ever just make a high-quality post and make a good conversation/discussion.

It shouldn't be a competition, but it is due simple fact that earlier you reply to OP (given that post is somewhat decent), the bigger chances for getting merit so I am pretty sure that there are people who are stalking boards spamming f5.

I had no idea that its possible to turn off that warning message and no one (well at least not me) really like to see it, but I'll keep it on anyway as I try to not exactly repeat something that has been said already, which can happen. Yeah sure, I know that you can edit the post, but still...

Just like the others here, I didn't know about this feature and even though it can be a bit irritating to see the pop up, I feel it's helpful. Probably you see it as an unnecessary encumbrance, but bruh, it can ignored if you want to.

This looks like a How-to/Educational/Guide thread which i think this suits more in the Beginners & Help board instead here in Meta. Though i'm surprised knowing someone a Legendary rank doesn't know this feature (post above) yet.
It may be in beginners and help, but it is a guide about this forum, this makes it perfectly fine to be on meta board.

This warning is useful but turn it off depends on you.

Not all replies are helpful and answer questions but if you see the warning, you can refresh the page and see newest posts answer the question yet. It is painful to see after you finish you post and realize other posters answer the question. If you repeat a same answer, it has no value for the discussion.

I actually think this warning should be on but with options to on and off, you're free to customize yours.

Does "first come first serve" is a culture in bounties? it's really bad since it just proving the manager don't care with the user's quality post and other thing before choosing him to promote the project.

Well, i turned it off for several years already, you can just edit your post when someone made a new reply or answering the same question your going to make to avoid repetition of post/answer.
