We're thinking of adding a faucet to our site https://bitcoin-arcade.com/

I'd like to ask everyone two things:-

  • Would a BitCoin faucet encourage you to stay and chat and/or play?
  • How much is a reasonable amount per giveaway?

Play Fun Vintage Arcade Style Games with BitCoin or BURST.
No registration, on-chain & play in minutes.

Well, first you need to know "FaucetBOX.com is closing", so you need another script...

ok - well we'd probably write our own script anyway, but any update on how much
you might expect per 'drip' of the faucet?

We would want to reward players for chatting and also for playing with a special bonus I think... ?

I saw almost 70% of Bitcoiners doesn't know how to setup your own Faucet and run it.
I do not believe 30% of Bitcoiners knows how to setup a faucet site. Thank you for the tutorial, I will try it and post here when I am ready.

I suspect the hardest part of running a faucet has to be the cheaters / theft. I hope the code is good and the funds placed in appropiate wallets.
If you're using a secure script, which most faucet scripts are, theft isn't much of a worry. Bots will always be there, but they are a small minority.

Does anyone know what happens if you migrate your bitcoin faucet hosting to a new host and create a new database instead of using the old one?

What are the consequences, if there are any? I don't think there will be data loss, as bitcoin faucets don't need passwords, etc, but just wanted to make sure.

I backed up my whole faucet site except my database, which I'm kicking myself for right now. I'm trying to get in touch with my hosting provider, but he doesn't check the forum often, so I'm temporarily migrating to a new host. I can easily back up everything, and set up a new database, but I want to know if there are any consequences in switching a faucet database. Thanks!
People will lose their referrals, that's about all I can think of.

Hmm, Ok, thanks. This is only temporary, so I think it will be fine, as I plan to go back to the old host as soon as I can get in touch with the owner.
