Atletico Madrid is at the bottom of group B, which means they won't play in the Europa League. 1st place and 2 nd place are qualified for the next round, while the 3rd place will join Europa League through. But 4th place (the bottom) will be eliminated from UCL and won't play in Europa League. As far as I know, only the 3rd place joins Europa League.

I think it is clear enough that Atletico Madrid has no longer an international competition. They will only play in La Liga until this season is over.

Toughest group so far with all the teams fighting to see who will be going to the next stage. Right now the group has taken another shape with Frankfurt taking the lead from away and currently in the first position and Tottenham still settling for a draw and the team is in the second position now but I think more actions will still be seen because the teams in the group are full of surprises who knows if Frankfurt will later lose in the game and Tottenham ends up not getting the draw as we have seen happen in football. Until the full time the group D is still an open group.

So far, only Liverpool and Napoli have played without scoring. In all the other matches, the score was already opened in the first half. After Napoli's goal was cancelled out, I thought they could win the game. I wouldn't say Liverpool are playing any better. But the situation was more interesting for Eintracht and Sporting. Napoli seem easy to hold on to at Liverpool as it is still 0-0. Liverpool could in theory still be first, but then there would have to be goals. Rangers seem inglorious to leave the million-dollar ball because they are now behind against Ajax again and will therefore have 0 points after 6 matches. It doesn't look good for Tottenham hotspurs either, they are currently behind in Marseille and because of that position and the position in the other match, Tottenham is now eliminated from the Champions League and can prepare for the Europa League. Atletico Madrid have even finished 3rd in the group and are not even allowed to do a Europa League, a huge letdown.

Barcelona are boring in this match, obviously because they are no longer fighting to qualify for the last 16. I didn't see them playing at their best because several times Viktoria Plzen's players could easily threaten the goal, but Barcelona were two goals ahead at the end of the first half. Qualifying for the Europa League is Barcelona's target in this game, so I think maybe they will have no problem doing it.

Olympic Marseille don't have joy in this game at all, and with the 1 goal leading the have ceased in the HT of the game am sure they are going to defend that one goal to the end of the second half. Conte side Tottenham ain't going to do much in changing anything in the next half of the game as they have not really made some convincible chances in the first half like a team that understand what's at stake should they fail to even go back home with just a draw tonight.

Liverpool versus Napoli at Anfield is a very tough game to watch. The first half was full of tense as the reds wanted to do something different. Salah has his big chance but it was rule offside and Osimhen been tackle several times by Virgil who's not giving any room for mistakes. I miss Luiz Diaz because there are certain chances he would have created in the opposition half. Napoli boss, Luciano Spalleti is very tough as he's still unbeaten in both the Seria A and the champions league. Let's see the outcome of the second half, if Liverpool can break the unbeaten run of Napoli.

The teams that had fallen first in the group stage were indeed a surprise this season, this was because their performance was not strong enough against other teams. We know that the teams that compete in the UCL are the greatest teams in their respective leagues, so the competition is quite tight to qualify for the next round. Juventus and Barcelona became teams that were full of surprises in the UCL because they had to be eliminated early even though these two teams were believed by many people to be able to break through to the quarter-finals but in reality they didn't. maybe for ucl this season i feel there will be a big surprise that will happen where the teams that has never been experienced the league champions trophy maybe they will get it like manchester city and psg who are so ambitious this season.

My interest in group D and my most favourite match tonight is Marseille vs Tottenham. In the group D, every team has the chances to qualify and every team has the chances to lose. It's no longer about qualifying for the next round, but Barcelona just needs to secure place in the Europa League by winning this match and keeping up their form. Barcelona didn't play with all their best players and preferred to play second-tier players as they looked like they could win this game from Plzen. I'm sure Barcelona will win, but it seems that defensive issues are still haunting them in this match especially when Plzen had a few chances.

In the previous match, Atletico Madrid failed to even qualify for the Europa League after they lost to Porto. I've really seen them different this season so it's hard to expect them to give a lot in the end.

I guess we haven't seen it all. Most times, the nomenclature of a club bears no significance. They struggle for points as other teams do. Who would think Barcelona can struggle like this, also Atletico madrid. I really wish Barca to win this match against Pizen.

Its been a subpar performance by the spanish teams in the champions league this season and i guess i am not so surprised haha. Atletico Madrid needs a new idea, a new philosophy and they need to divorce their marriage with Simeone if they really want to progress as a team. Barcelona are also confirmed europa league attendant again despite raising 6 levers lol.
