Personally, I would hardly want to pick the game between Manchester City VS Inter in my selection, both teams are up to standard despite City having more initials to lead the game but I sense an intense game which the results might be highly unpredictable. Any option while placing a bet on this fixture, would be on a high note if the selection would be on a straight win choices because even the unexpected can happen with Inter winning at last. Merely, either Manchester City to win or a GG option on this game.
It seems to me that City is a clear favorite in this match and 1.57 for a home match is quite a high odds. It can be said that Inter saved their strength for the match with City and therefore could not beat Monza, but they also could not win in the match with Genoa. That is, away matches for Inter are not as successful as home games. Therefore, I think that Inzaghi will try not to lose in this match and will focus on the game in defense, and Guardiola will control the game and I think he will achieve victory.

Although Inter are Serie A top team but still, at this moment I think Manchester City are the better team compared to Inter. I don't care about Inter saving their strength for the match against Monza before because for me, it was just a match has played and Inter obviously got a bad result because they almost lost to Monza. Because for the next match, of course, they still have good preparation because after all, Manchester City also remained consistent with their winning streak in the Premier League, so it has nothing to do with Inter draw against Monza.

I personally will not hesitate to keep betting and choosing Manchester City to win, because basically Manchester City is a team that has a level and quality above average. What's more, Manchester City also remains the favored team based on the odds available, and that makes my confidence increase even more to keep choosing Manchester City to win.

Maybe one of the reasons for Liverpool's defeat is that they wanted to prepare for the Champions League match. The Champions League is more important and Nottingham was an opponent they did not see as strong.

It is just going to be the beginning of the group stage, and it is always very hard to see a team performing less in their domestic league just because they are preparing for the Champions League. Mostly, these things are done when the Champions League gets tougher, like in the quarterfinal or semifinal stages. This is where most teams bench some of their important players. But in stages like the group stage, where they have more opportunities to play many matches, I don't think any head coach may no try to misbehave early in the their domestic competition by benching players. In fact, Liverpool did not bench any of their key players; they all played. But the truth is that things like this happen in football, where even weak teams will sometimes defeat strong teams.

They must have thought that they could beat them in any way and underestimated them. But you shouldn't do that. You should take every opponent seriously, both in the league and in the Champions League. This defeat could even cost Liverpool the championship at the end of the year.

I don't really think that Liverpool underestimated Nottingham Forest. If Liverpool had underestimated Nottingham Forest, they could have benched their key players, but nothing like that happened. It does happen like this sometimes. In fact, Nottingham Forest has beaten Liverpool before. Even in the last two seasons, Forest was able to defeat Liverpool too. Let's just acknowledge that football is sometimes unpredictable, and we see that every season. It is possible that more unexpected outcomes will happen this season again, where weaker teams may defeat stronger ones.

but I instead think that Milan vs Liverpool will be less interesting than Manchester City against Inter due to the two teams wanting a rematch in every way so it won't be a static match with a foregone conclusion, we'll see anyway

I would say both matches have significant value to their fanbases, but history wise, and if you are a neutral, you would probably favor the AC Milan vs Liverpool match. They played against each other in two finals in the last decade, both are great teams and have always been that way.

AC Milan is a transitioning team, and aren't doing that good in the league right now. They are struggling to find their sweet spot and see themselves on the 9th spot in the Serie A after 4 games, with a total of 5 points. Not so solid, is it?
Liverpool on the other hand are going to be really hungry after their disappointing loss against Forest, a team no one expected them to lose against. The game is in San Siro, definitely a difficult day for any visiting team, should be the same for Liverpool, as well.

The thing is that this match is iconic, it reminds us of that final when City won their UCL for the first time and it was against Inter where I remember that Lukaku eventually missed all the opportunities, that was something impressive, seeing Pipo Inzhagi's face was something impressive, I couldn't believe it, however I think it's a good, interesting revenge match and they can make the difference this time, I see that City is very good, Inter too, but I think that if both play very well Inter can take the victory, since they are playing with that feeling of what could not be done before.

Inter Milan vs City might go for penalty in the end. you know, both managers know enough football to out-tactic the other in their own ways. Erling Haaland started the season in dream-like form, and he is expected to keep firing his shots in the Inter goal. On the other hand, Inter is not looking too bad either, as they are also yet to lose a game this season, having racked 8 points from 4 games in the league. Both of these games will be amazing to watch, for sure.

Here we go again!!!! UCL is coming back with new face!!

We're going to see two opening matches of UCL.

1. Juventus vs PSV

2. Young Boys vs Villa

I also provides the odds for those matches below.

This is my bet

Although i pick Juventus to win the game against PSV, but i consider this as a very risky decision. Juventus has been so poor in their recent games. Their attackers are completely losing their sharpness. They have terrible build up, and defence. But i bet on their superiority over PSV.

For the game YB vs Villa, i have nothing to complaints about. That's very obvious villa gonna win it.

What do you guys think?

Maybe one of the reasons for Liverpool's defeat is that they wanted to prepare for the Champions League match. The Champions League is more important and Nottingham was an opponent they did not see as strong.
What I know is that Liverpool underestimated Nottingham, and Nottingham Forest surprised everyone in the match. I don’t think the Champions League match was the reason why Liverpool's attention shifted from the Nottingham Forest match, and are you even saying Liverpool can’t participate in both the Premier League and the Champions League at the same time? I don’t see any reason why Liverpool should take their Champions League match seriously over the Premier League, seriously, the result of Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest was just a surprising one to me.

They must have thought that they could beat them in any way and underestimated them. But you shouldn't do that. You should take every opponent seriously, both in the league and in the Champions League. This defeat could even cost Liverpool the championship at the end of the year.
At least they will have learned their lesson that no opponent should be underestimated, no matter how poor the opponent’s performance is. Always make use of your main squad to start every match, and after winning comfortably, most of those players can be substituted so that they will be able to rest.

The Champions League Competition Kicks Off In The Next Few Days. What are your predictions and thoughts for the above games. Whenever making predictions, do not forget to pay close attention to Injured and absent players from the squad.... These are the couple few I've got in mind;
Tough call between Atletico Madrid and Leipzig, game should end as a draw. Atalanta against Arsenal also would be interesting, we'll get to see Ademola Lookman, showcase what he's gott, he has been brilliant for them lately. I'm banking on gunners to either win or draw the game. Monaco might also be inna good form but Barcelona in the Champions League Competition? You don't even want to debate it. Hansi Flick would want to wrap things up immediately.
Paris winning again Girona
Both sides to score against themselves between Manchester City and Inter Milan. I won't be boggled.
Ac Milan should definitely get a win, I want to see Liverpool being hammered so hard by  Ac Milan. Already. Lol..
Monaco may disappoint you against Barcelona, have you seen Barcelona's performance lately? They aren't even joking and their coach is literally trying to put them on a trajectory of an anticipated consistent victory,  but I've not seen any of such intriguing performances from Monaco recently which will make me believe they are a good contender moreover it's champions League which we all know how demanding it can be which actually does increase the preference they place on the games. With Manchester City and inter we may witness another version of former champions League final encounter, lol.

Just because of the lose Liverpool recorded against Nottingham Forest does not mean that they’re been inconsistent this season. It’s okay to lose a match not losing consecutively is not what is acceptable by any club’s management. Liverpool only lost a match in the premier league, it doesn’t mean they’ll lose their match in the champions league as well even if they’re going to be playing against a more superior team than Nottingham Forest in the champions league. Both teams are good and the match is going to be hard to decide at this point. It is better to remain neutral on this type of matches because both team la even have enough experience in the champions league and they won’t take it easy on each other before we get to see who wins the match at the end of the day. I’m looking forward to this match, because of how entertaining I’m envisioning it to be.

I agree, of course that loss was a total mess and everyone in the club and outside the club knows it. I am sure that literally nobody put a bet on Nottingham Forest in that game. The chances that Liverpool would give away those three points were zero, but as you can see only because a club has a small name doesn't mean that they can't play any football at all. Opponents have to be taken seriously and you could see that. But usually an event like this happens once or at maximum twice in a season. It's not going to happen again I believe.

Whatever it is that happened in that game, just like the Liverpool fans, their players may have underestimated Nottingham Forest. Generally, the loss came to  Liverpool as a surprise. However, it's not meant to be the foundation of judgement for their game against Ac Milan, I presume the Liverpool team will buckle up and play a better football. I wouldn't want to predict the outcome of such a competitive game, but from the previous performance of both teams it'll appear to end as a draw.
Maybe one of the reasons for Liverpool's defeat is that they wanted to prepare for the Champions League match. The Champions League is more important and Nottingham was an opponent they did not see as strong. They must have thought that they could beat them in any way and underestimated them. But you shouldn't do that. You should take every opponent seriously, both in the league and in the Champions League. This defeat could even cost Liverpool the championship at the end of the year.
You are making a very good point and I have also thought of it. It is better that they give up the match to Nottingham and win Milan than playing to win Nottingham and the players will play in fatigue against Milan which might end up to their defeat.

As a good coach there are some match that you need not to worry about because losing it will not affect the club compare to losing a very important match. Any coach that does not understand this and want to make sure that his team wins all their matches might end up being defeated in an important match.

-snip

In my opinion PSV will win this game, they are a team that has been performing well in the last 4 years and even in European competitions they are also improving, last season they managed to draw against Arsenal and Dortmund and beat Sevilla in European Champions League games. And as you said, Juventus continue to be an inconsistent team, and their biggest strength is in defense, but PSV's biggest strength is in attack with 5 games they have scored 20 goals and they are also strong in defense. I see some football analysis pages saying that Juventus will win. The bookmakers are also placing Juventus as favorites, but I think PSV is better prepared to win the game.
I also thought that PSV could beat Juventus with the current PSV squad being so strong. However, I also have to consider that Juventus also has very good experience in the past but it will all depend on the current coach.
I have a little conclusion that in this match it is a little difficult to determine who will win the match. But I probably will not bet on the victory of one of the teams but will bet on the total score of both teams.
My prediction is that both teams will not score big and maybe BTTS will also be the best choice.

PSV team has been in excellent form in the Eredivise league this season as well. PSV won all 5 matches. And in 5 matches PSV managed to score 20 goals, conceding only 3 goals. I know Eridivise league is not very competitive. The other teams here are also not that strong. Still, winning every match by a big margin was no easy task.

It is true that Juventus is a strong team. However, this season we are not seeing a better performance from Juventus. In particular, the performance of Juventus' attacking players has been as poor as last season. But the defense of this team is very strong. However, if the attacking players do not perform well, it may not be possible for Juventus to defeat PSV.
To be fair there are few teams that are usually good, so when one of them does this well that is a good thing. PSV definitely managed to do something amazing and we could see this as something that is changing a lot and we can't really consider this as easy thing to do. We are dealing with PSV doing fine and other teams are doing and because of that we should consider this to be doing something quite awesome and because of that I think it should be quite important to deal with what we are dealing with.

PSV will probably end up with something great and we should consider this to be something that is actually worth something and everyone should be considering this as normal and could do fine as well. I would consider that this could be something that could be something that could change a lot. We should consider that Eredevise could provide a few good teams time to time, remember a few years ago when Ajax went as far as semi finals, these could be something similar if they do fine.

I was interested want to see the match result between Atalanta vs Arsenal because if i am not mistaken this is their first met in this competition and Atalanta as Europa League champion has starting this season with slow start because in Serie A Atalanta has several times to lost even against weak team just like Torino they also unable to win and the opposite from Arsenal because in Premier League Arsenal performance is really impressive because until week 4 Arsenal still unbeated

But Arsenal condition is not good because to facing this match they have to losing some player and one of them is their captain Martin Ødegaard besides that Arsenal away matches records in Champion league also very poor because in the last 5 matches they were failed to win and beating Atalanta at their home is not easy for Arsenal because Atalanta at home is quite strong even last season they only lost once so although on the paper Arsenal is the favourite but this is hard match for them

Here my favorite The UEFA Champion League matches matchday 1 of 8

  • Real Madrid vs Stuttgart
  • Milan vs Liverpool
  • Manchester City vs Inter Milan
  • Atletico Madrid vs Leipzig
  • Juventus vs PSV
The bolded is the favorite team, maybe the scenario will be different but I see a team that is favored a lot.

There are so many favorite matches that there is no mention.
PSG vs Girona
Atalanta vs Arsenal
Feyenoord vs Leverkusen
Monaco vs Barcelona

So far I haven't chosen which teams to enter in the parlay bet, I need a little analysis in their h2h matches to help increase the odds a little.

this is actually far from the reality that happened. How will Liverpool that are almost top on the table want to give a point away against Nottingham that's a much easier opponent to beat when they are still eying the top of the table? They didn't play as though it was just a simple match they didn't care on it outcome. With 14 shots and 5 shot on target against Nottingham 5 shots and 3 shot on target, if all things works as it ought to be, Liverpool would have comfortablly wok the game straight up without any form of argument. They were even better in terms of possession and in almost all ramification. It was not just there day and they just got unlucky to give all three point away. With regards the coming champion league games against Milan,  even though they have better chances of getting the victory coupled with clear winning records the have in their past encounter, thier last performance will still affect them in the tomorrow game. After they lost thier last game, going into this first champions league game will certainly involve serious energy and zeal to winning Milan by all means known possible.

That is not an acceptable excuse for their lost during the weekend because they had  their key players in that game and wanted to win but just that they had a hard luck and Nottingham forest were stubborn enough to defend their early goal to the end. The Champions League is mostly prioritize by managers when it has gotten to the round of 16 and not just in an opening group stage match that they have to risk their domestic league games at an early stage.  I think Slot should be able to manage in preparing his team to withstanding both competition's as klopp has done when he was with the Reds.

Most comments and discussions on this thread in recent times has been channelled at the UCLA kick off fixtures which is between city and inter Milan but I want to look at other fixtures they will take place almost immediately after the kickoff fixtures between city and inter.

I would love we make some discussion and get contributions from others in this respect,  from my perspective I will look at the Arsenal and Atlanta fixture, I mean the Europa winners having to take on the premier league runner up from last season. It's looking like a game that should be of high anticipation because two brilliant team are involved, another to briefly talk about would be between feyenoord and Leverkusen because these two are another sets of champions just like the later, Leverkusen had their domestic league title and feyenoord was a runner up so interesting games ahead here, what are your taughts mates?.
In the domestic league, both have played 4 matches, Arsenal achieved good results by winning 3 times and drawing 1 time, while Atalanta from the 4 matches they played they were only able to win 2 times and the other 2 had to end in defeat, this is a not too good result felt by Atalanta and makes some people doubt them. Their chances of getting points in the match are still quite open, but to be honest personally with the not good enough start they showed in Serie A, it makes my confidence in them decrease. However, Atalanta has an advantage in this match, they will act as the host, that should be a motivation for them to at least get a draw, but I'm sure they will target victory.

This competition of UEFA Champions League is going to start from tomorrow. The four teams that are going to face each other on the first day will take the field to face each other. Italian club Juventus will play against Dutch club PSB of Eindhoven while English club Aston Villa will play against Swedish Club Young Boys. After a long time, Juventus will face PSB Eindhoven. Juventus are a young squad under Motta even they have made some exciting new recruits. Juventus' performance in the last two matches has not been favorable as they have drawn against Empoli. Both have equal chances in this match. After a few years English club Aston Villa will play in the Champions League. They last qualified for the Champions League in 1992.

After a long time Aston Villa are going to face Young Boys. Both teams have been performing well in recent times, with Swedish club Young Boys beating Vevey-sports team by four to two goals in their last match. On the other hand, Aston Villa won the last match of the English Premier League against Everton with a score of 3-2. After a long time Aston Villa who got the opportunity of the Champions League, may want to paint their first match with a win.

Thank you for posting the image. I just made the screenshot from the UCL X page, and I was about posting it until I saw yours.

The UCl games are not longer in few days, but tomorrow. Even though the competition is starting soon, I still stand with the fact that these teams are too much, and it won't be an easy task for the players or teams with limited players. Just imagine having a UCl game on Thursday, alongside the Europa league. Well, there is no going back, so let's just focus on the games.

AC Milan Vs Liverpool is going to be an interesting fixture to watch. I think it will be quite difficult for Liverpool to grab all 3 points, so i will bet a draw. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Sporting CP, Celtic, Benfica, Barcelona, will definitely get all 3 points. While games that might end in a draw are Psg vs Girona, Feyenoord Vs Leverkusen, Club Brugge Vs Dormund.

As for the City vs Inter, Young boys Vs Villa, and Atalanta Vs Arsenal. I prefer not to say anything, because the result can go either ways. Looking forward to the Liverpool, City and Arsenal's game most especially.

And I heard Dani Olmo got injured in yesterday's game. Could someone please clarify the extent of his injury?

Manchester City started this year well, their Premier League performance is quite good. So far they have managed to progress without losing points. The team looks very fit and I think we can see this success in the Champions League matches as well. Inter were a little unlucky in their match yesterday, they were able to draw thanks to the goal they scored in the last minutes. If they play like this, Manchester City will win the match
As a team, Manchester City are playing very good and with an individual beast mode of their main striker, Haaland, Manchester City are creating massive fear in Premier League, that they will be able to destroy the league in one more season. A summer without participation in Euro 2024 seems to be helpful for Haaland to recharge energy and upgrade himself.

Arsenal and Arteta already shown their strength, ambition but at the same time their weakness in several early matches of Premier League 2024 - 2025 season. So far, with performances of Manchester City and Arsenal, it's fair to say Manchester City are still above Arsenal in quality, stability and competitiveness in this season. Arsenal and Arteta actually have a mountain to climb, to beat Manchester City and take the crown from this beast competitor.
