Beautiful game yesterday between what I consider the best teams in Champions League actually,Bayern and Paris. The game should have ended like 10-3 for Bayern with all the occassions they had but the goalkeeper of Paris was the hero of yesterday night.Paris with the counter attacks and Mbappe which looks unstoppable won the game yesterday. Now they have made a huge step toward further qualification.
I wouldn't really agree with you.
This was in any case one of the best matches in the Champions League ever, and in impossible weather conditions, but the final result should have been, in my opinion, 3:3 or 4:4 and by no means 10:3 for Bayern.
Mbappe was simply unstoppable and I think he showed that he is currently the best player in the world.
Everything is still open here, and Bayern also still have a chance to advance to the semi-finals, but it will be very difficult for them in Paris.
I think 10-3 was just exaggeration to say that Bayern had a lot of chances but PSG GK played such a great game that he won the game for his team. If you ask me I agree with that statement, sure Mbappe is a great player and I do agree that he definitely helped the team to win but I think goalkeeper was a lot better than Mbappe or anyone else, his saves were the reason why they were playing this well, plus when you get scored so much so quickly usually that means your offensive players give up as well, you just start accepting a loss and that is why GK saving goals is a big deal.

This is why I believe we are talking about the keeper and not about the goals. That 10-3 wouldn't happen of course, even with a semi-decent second league keeper you will at least save few of them, but it was obvious that it could have been 3 or even 4 goals very easily unless keeper didn't play like a superstar.

Yesterday there was a lot of talk here in France about the PSG-Bayern match, so today when not hearing anything (didn't look for the results), I thought PSG must have lost, so I checked and no, they won. I guess it must have been a modest win, or that people don't want to jinx it, still remembering the remontada by Barcelona some years ago.

I thought Bayern could grab a win at home but they lost the game. Especially conceding 3 goals at home hit them hard. Now even 0-2 win will not be enough for them in second game. They were pretty dominant in the first match despite the score, I expect a great game again. Only if they had Robert Lewandowski things would be very much different.

The second leg is Liverpool's last chance to qualify, but I think it will be very difficult. Real Madrid have already stepped one foot in the next round.
Liverpool qualification is not longer realistic for now, this is football anything can happen but in this case we are talking about a side who has been poor recently, Liverpool is not match fit to get any positive result from Real Madrid.

Agreed with you there is very rare chances of Liverpool especially against Real Madrid. If Real Madrid would get succeed to end the 2nd leg match as draw than it will move to the next round. Liverpool is not in good shape so that there is more high chance of Real Madrid to move to the next round.

Bayern Monaco deserved to not only draw the game but to win the game.
PSG got destroyed in ball possession, shoots, and missed goal.

It will be a fun second leg next week.

Agree with you. Bayern was the better team and should not have lost it. PSG did not play dominantly. Bayern can therefore still advance even if they conceded three goals at home, which is a big burden for the second leg. But if they play like they did yesterday, without making the big mistakes in defense, they could still make it to the semifinals.

Semi finals looking likely to be the following:

PSG vs Man City
Real Madrid vs Chelsea

Possible PSG vs Real Madrid final with PSG winning their first CL? Will be good to see what happens.

That would mean that 3 out of 4 teams of the semifinal would be owned by billionaire sheikhs or by an billionaire oligarch. I don't really like that development because those teams have a clear competitive advantage over all "normal" teams that have to manage their funds responsibly (i admit though that Real Madrid isn't doing that either  Roll Eyes) and i hope to see at least bayern in the semi finals. Porto would be great too but i doubt that will happen.
Financial Fairplay is a joke and should either be completely abandoned or modified in a way that those billionaire hobby clubs are on a level playing field with the rest.

This is what I do. I drink and I know things.
I am still sure that Bayern will go to the next round. It will be tough, there is a chance. Bayern Munich really missed Lewandowski. He would have scored a couple of goals.

Big teams like Bayern always have chances to win a game but if PSG plays like yesterday I don't see them in the next round. TBH, maybe it's PSG time to (at least) get to the final. Most likely this team will not be the same next season...

In the Chelsea-Porto pair, in my opinion, everything is clear.
Dortmund pleasantly surprised me and Manchester City disappointed me. I think Dortmund can fight for the next round and they can succeed.

And Liverpool needs to play more aggressively if they want to beat Real. If they play the same way as in the first game, then they will fail.
I think Bayern is the only one with realistic chance to turn unfavorable result from first game in their favor. Bayern was much better then PSG an on another day that game would have ended with Bayern win easy. Probably even with handicap.
Well, many think that in other matches Bayern Munich will win but do not rule out this possibility that this could turn around and be disabled in other matches, I am sure Bayern loses because there is no Lewandowski up front so goal directors are difficult to do if not Lewandowski who often scores goals his.
But I see Mbappe's madness also looks very good I admit this was an extraordinary match where PSG was able to suppress Bayern.
Opportunities are still realistic in both, PSG will survive and Munich will continue to attack fully.

City is a machine and Real is giving their best performances in CL. Porto missed their chance in first game.
For me Bayern created a lot and missed certain chances, and perhaps the presence of Lewandowski and Gnabry would have made a big difference in the outcome of the match, especially in the second half, with the size of crosses and the number of intercourse passes, and the great advantage at the level of the periphery areas,
but playing with advanced defense and with these spaces behind the backs and two hearts of defense, and you face Neymar, Di Maria, and Mbappe are considered a difficult thing, as happened in the first and third goals. Argentine Di Maria's passes break the lines, and the Brazilian Neymar is a professor of receiving under pressure, and escaping from control by dribbling and excelling in the 1-on-1 position, while the Frenchman Mbappe has provided him with the required space, and he will take care of the rest in front of the goal, a triple impossible for any team playing the advanced defense system.

Semi finals looking likely to be the following:

Real Madrid vs Chelsea

Possible PSG vs Real Madrid final with PSG winning their first CL? Will be good to see what happens.

I wouldn't rule out Bayern Munich, and neither is Liverpool chances of qualification far off. I'd still maintain the possibility of anything happen in the 2nd leg fixtures, for Bayern especially.

Yesterday's UCL game was quite interesting and it revealed a lot about both teams. Where we saw a Bayern Munich creating a lot of chances both not having the required finishing as Lewandoski was absent. Bayern dominated most part of the game having over 14 shots and 7 was on target but were able to convert only 2 into goals mean while, PDG on the other hand had only 5 shots of which, 4 was on target and they were able to convert 3 into goals. That's what we call efficiency on the side of PSG. PSG didn't come to dominate but to win the game and they did.
Its high time they focus more on Kylan Mbappe as the star player and keep Neymar Jnr aside. K. Mbappe has always been productive towards the team and has his effects in important games. Neymar too did well yesterday, creating the needed assist that lead to the goals. The PSG team was commendable yesterday but then this means, the PSG team should watch out for an angry Bayern Munich in the returning leg.
Amazing games yesterday, don't you think?
Chelsea showed an absolute supremacy over Porto and the semifinal is only 90' away, I don't see Porto posing a threat to them.
PSG and Mbappé keep on surprising me, even Bayern had to face the fact that PSG is a huge candidate for the title. Next game between the two teams' gonna be epic!

Mbappe has been phenomenal all season long, and the Balloon D' Or might not be far from his reach, should he keep up at this level.

I think so,  that the absence of 2 important players from Porto slightly affect Porto's strength and Chelsea players give opportunity from this to maximized their play. In the 2nd leg, Porto had to win 3-0 to qualify for the next round, with the composition of current Chelsea players that getting better, I think it will be difficult for them to reach that score. Which means, Chelse has the most chance of becoming the EPL representative in the Semifinals among with City and may be able to face PSG in the Final, if it happens, it will be very interesting, especially if Chelsea win, this will be a big shock therapy for PSG.

Liverpool, no hope.. i think🤦

I don't think it's that simple for FC Porto, although I believe they are capable of winning. Or at least take the elimination to the length / penalty.

Never underestimate Bayern. Those guys can destroy any team and are able to score 8 goals if they were determined. In the first leg, they were lacking especially Lewandowski and with him, the game would be very different. PSG also is a respectable team and seemed determined to win CL this season, they have to score in their next game to nullify Bayern chance to pass.
Chelsea vs Real Madrid, yeah I agree.

Yep. I think I am with Swordsoffreedom. The semifinalists look like it's decided EXCEPT PSG/Bayern.

Liverpool may win but not 2-0 or 3-0. Real will score away goals.

Porto cannot win the most they can expect is a draw.

City will hammer Dortmund as Haaland can't get past superior teams.

Just up to Bayern if they can win 2 or more.

hmph..
From the start I was sure that Chelsea would win. They are stronger. Chelsea players are better than Porto. Chelsea ruled the match even though they played at porto, they won possession. Mason Mount brilliant appearance became the right alternative to Chelsea's attack line. Regarding porto, they look different unlike against Juve. I think this is due to the absence of Sergio Olivera and Mehdi Taremi.

I think so,  that the absence of 2 important players from Porto slightly affect Porto's strength and Chelsea players give opportunity from this to maximized their play. However the final result will determine, I want to know how Chelsea under the hands of Tuchel, who will bring the UEFA title, might be like Roberto Matthew who successfully brought Chelsea champions? maybe it will be repeated with Tuchel this season? If you know that your opponent is more difficult, what do you imagine?

I want to see in the final is PSG vs Chelsea but it is possible how the coach will meet his club who has had a long career at PSG.

I hope that the final will come true.
