Atalanta a solid company? Strong principles? First time I've heard such a description about any football team haha, but yeah, to be fair to them, they've really spearheaded the Italian football revolution. From being slow and defensive minded, they're now one of the most fearsome attacking teams that are also strong in creativity. Credit to them and may they go far in Champions League (unless they meet Barca that is).

Dude.. i said Inter lost and Real win.. and this HAPPEN.

Inter is not mature team.
it is not so much the team or the players or the coach who are not mature, the club is not mature!

obviously in my humble opinion, then clearly I could be wrong

I consider the coach a not very serious person, who whines because they don't give him what he wants, when in reality it is the opposite..

in this situation, for me win real

Strong analysis of situation, of coach, team, company and other stuffs.

I said Atalanta win, and Atalanta win Smiley because is strong company (team not so strong, medium).
Many years ago, Greek win European Championship vs Spain (strong) and vs Portugal (of CR7).

I talk with facts, not with words

it's true, Atalanta has no Champions League experience. But it is a very solid company based on very strong principles.
They have worked well over the years, building brick by brick.
I expect (if all goes well) that they reach the quarters and that's okay. They gain experience and make money.

What happen with Liverpool during first leg with Atlanta could win with bigger score 0-3 but when playing in the Anfield Stadium how come Liverpool could be loss, I bet all amount for Liverpool last night but have loss all with Liverpool loss from Atlanta. I think is very bad performance from Liverpool because they can't make one shoot to Atlanta goal keeper and become bad for Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane, I think Liverpool is not success to pass next stage but why they not try to get win last night, what exactly happen with Liverpoll and could be loss on the anfield stadium and become the first team for Atlanta defeat Liverpool in their home.

That Atalanta is a weird team, failing vs weaker teams, beaten by LFC with 5 goals then come back from nowhere to win this game with 2 goals to 0! My condolences to bettors  Lips sealed
ATM draw vs Lokomotiv wasn't expected much too imo Undecided
Now Bayern and City joined Chelsea, Sevilla, Barca and Sevilla to the finals.
Group D and H are on fire!

Liverpool only needs a point against Ajax to qualify, so there's really no point in analyzing it too much.

It's a season where teams need to heavily rotate their squads, the players did not have a preseason or a longer period of rest so things like these are normal for all teams, even the best.

Liverpool really did not play well but they will qualify from the group and the real competition starts when you reach the knockouts.

Nobody has to explain why Liverpool lost or why Atlanta won because let's be honest it was just bad play. Liverpool is such a big club that (won premier league last year, won champions league before that, huge club right now) they should have won this game even if they go out with bench players, this is the same team that won over Barcelona 4-0 to go on without salah arguably their best player.

So long story short, Atlanta could be a very solid team on their own and Liverpool may miss few players this year and so forth but that is not an excuse to lose this match. They have to keep showing that they are a great team in every single game in order to have the advantage, if they stop caring about the games, they are going to lose to even worse teams than Atlanta.

I didn’t envision Inter Milan so weak. Just one shot on goal in 90 minutes. And this with such strikers as Lukaku and Martinez. Real Madrid lacked three main players. Real Madrid surprised me.

There is nothing surprising about Inter Milan to be honest because their performances has not been up to standards for a long while now and it has been under the radar. Madrid is also out of form as well; but were able to string a performance with the Kroos / Modric pivot. Inter can go back to the europa league were they belong.

Indeed Inter Milan missed a wonderful opportunity to keep them into the event while Real Madrid was not playing with full strength but they played very nice. I placed my bet on Real Madrid because the odds were so attractive and it was worth to put trust on them. There is still big question mark on the performance of Real Madrid how they will survive against strong team in upcoming matches they have to make comeback and make the new strategy for it.

I'm glad someone is really taking note of Kroos performance in the Real Madrid team. Not so long ago, Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard was criticized for their  bad play before I stepped in. They both saved Real Madrid today from Inter. For sure, this was not an Inter game because, I really didn't see them winning but then, they made it worst by conceiving a penalty too early which put them in pressure, Arturo Vidal took a red card though not a straight red as it is common of him and Inter crowned it up with an own goal.
It was really not their day as they played below expectation.
Atletico Madrid' seemed to have had a rather difficult game with the Russian side Locomotive Moscow. Luiz Suarez should have really been on that pkiych, I'm sure the game would have ended favourably for them.

I just finished listening to an interview with Antonio Conte on Italian TV. Fabio Capello asked him if it was not the case to change the tactical module, given that they score little and Conte, furious as usual, said that it is not true.
I wonder how the Inter executives can go on with a man who continues to deny the evidence, has scored 4 goals in 4 Champions League games, Borussia scored 14 and Real Madrid 9

One interview does not give the whole picture,,, but yes I think Conte made a small mistake with that, but at the same time, you do not need to question a manager and coach on his tactics game by game. Inter scores enough, they just need to find a way to start their games early and finish strong because that is the problem with them they cannot last long enough.

Apart from Atalanta Liverpool only scored 2 goals in 3 games in CL. 1-0, 1-0 (own goal), and lost 0-2 will you say this is evidence to say they cannot score a lot?

Atalanta is a very strong club and similar mistakes in the Champions League are simply not forgiven. This is why it is important to watch the line-ups of the clubs before the match, because sometimes overconfidence leads to the coach placing young players on an important game, and the result is almost always the same...

Sure, but Atalanta is young to Champions League.. i mean newbie.
Need lot of experience to use right combination of players in SerieA and ChampionsLeague.
My two cents

In the reversed fixture Liverpool thrashed them 5-0 I was expecting an outright win for Liverpool unfortunately they flopped and played badly parading some youngstars while resting key players is not a justification to playing badly in anfield in game of such magnitude UCL to make matter worst the host couldn't register any shot on goal is  beyond my imagination this really shows that they are very poor against Atalanta yesterday.

The group D in the champions league is by far the most exciting. Liverpool, Atlanta and Ajax can all continue. I think it will be Liverpool and Atlanta, but Ajax has shown in recent years that they can beat anyone.
Will be exciting next week, Liverpool - Ajax

Nice win by Atalanta, beating Liverpool away does not happen so easily. How far these guys want to go in Champions League?
As far as I know Atalanta will continue to advance to the next round seeing the away game with Liverpool is so surprising because this is one of the extraordinary achievements, the Italian team was able to beat a strong EPL team.

Atalanta are much better at UCL than in Serie A they are getting more and more aggressive to pressure opponents who keep retreating here I know Atalanta is much better in Inter Milan's Appeal which is a lot of star players.

Group D is very close together. Liverpool at 9 points, Atalanta and Ajax both at 7. So it hasn't been decided which 2 of these teams will advance to the round of 16. Atalanta has made an important step yesterday. But lets assume Liverpool wins both of the remaining matches and Atalanta wins Midtjylland. Then the match Ajax vs Atalanta on the last matchday would be the deciding one: Atalanta would be okay with a draw (and a win ofc) and Ajax needs to win that match against Atalanta to advance to the next round.

Atalanta surprised me a bit, and for better or worse, the same situation is with Marseille, expected more from them, Porto is not top European team anymore
It is not a surprise on what Atalanta can do if you look retrospectively on what they done in last season. They lost the match against PSG in a very last minutes and in the all season, they did well in Champions League and Serie A as the most aggressively attacking team.

They deserve the 3 points that help them to have a stronger position for the Round 16 in Champions League. How Atalanta will go far this season if they can reach to Round 16? Leipzig won't be able to keep up their good results but Atalanta is different. They are doing amazing jobs but they need to keep up good results for rest matches.

Standings for Group D: Liverpool 9 points, Ajax and Atalanta 7 points. Any team in the 3 can be out of Champions League after next 2 matches.

For those who love football, yesterday will always be a sad day to remember.
Maradona was the greatest to play the game. An inspiration across the whole world, such a huge loss. Hasta siempre, Diego.
