I'm of the opinion that most times some clubs domestic league results does not reflect on their performance in European competitions and in so many occasions have we seen clubs that are struggling domestically flourish in the European scene.
AS Roma is one club that are capable enough to win the UEFA Europa League competition this season and the fact that they're managed by European coaching specialist in the person of Jose Mourinho gives them an added advantage. Against Bayer Leverkusen, I expect Roma to win the tie and qualify for the final of the competition
So it's like this, before a team enters in various other competitions. first they have to show their slick performance in the Domestic League first, after finishing in the top four, they make sure to take part in the Champions League competition. Likewise with this competition, at least, they have to get a ticket to qualify for which competition, UCL, or UEL. that means, the Domestic League competition is very much a reflection for us to be a benchmark when these teams compete in other competitions. imagine, in one season each team will play 38/34 matches. they must be consistent, to achieve the desired target. talking about matches in European competitions or the Champions League, each team only meets at home and away matches. that means, luck plays a very important role apart from referring to their performance in the Domestic League.
Well, let's talk about Roma, so far, what they have shown in both the domestic league and the Europa is not very impressive. however, for the match in the second leg Roma played quite impressively. even then playing in its own base. what they showed, no more than what they showed in this competition. instead, let's look at Leverkusen. Since this team has been under Xabi Alonso, they have shown great performance, including in the Europa League competition. related to this match later, the two coaches will compete tactics and strategies. plus, they'll be playing the best version of the game. for me, Leverkusen is superior. however, we'll see which team will have more luck. no doubt like the Seville vs United match. on paper, United are much tougher. sadly, luck was on Seville's side. roughly, like that from my point of view.
