Well well. It seems that blessed max is the overwhelming favorite to win this rematch and people have forgotten about the first fight. Though holloway has improved tremendously after that and him being favored to win this is well grounded. But i'd place my money this time on poirier. Typical underdog bet and if we repeats over holloway, then its kaching for me lol

Lol, who wouldn't love a live underdog winning a fight and giving us the "kaching" sound?  Grin

But it's hard to argue that the first fight was nothing though, Max is just starting his career and it just so happen that Dustin is the bigger guy that night. Max though goes to a lot of transformation and winning big time so it totally negate his first lost again Dustin.

Rather interesting event to watch. Strange that no one mentioned there will be 2 title fights. Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier and
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya. Will definitely watch this two and as usual skip all the women fights Cheesy

The second title fight is also quite interesting. Both of them are very good fighters. The Nigerian (Israel Adesanya) is undefeated till now, with noticeable victories against Anderson Silva (UFC 234) and Derek Brunson (UFC 230). But I'd still go with Kelvin Gastelum, as I believe that he has the better fighting technique and manoeuvrability.

Also, Max has improved much more than Dustin since 7 years ago, I reckon. He is the featherweight champion. Dustin might not attain what Max has attained if he remained on featherweight.

Even though Max is the champion it only gives Dustin something to prove and this is his chance to became a champion also.

I don't doubt the ability of Poirier he is good and he can definitely beat Max for the interim title.

Agreed. However, Max has improved more and has a higher chance of winning this, I reckon. Max will take this fight to the 4th and 5th rounds and take Dustin's cardio to the limit.

I also watch UFC fights but not that really fan of UFC fighters. At first, I do not like some plays for it is not that really skillfull but after kmowing that UFC is a mix martial.arts fight then I came to.know some.of.the fighting style. There I realized that the play will depend on what fighters had learned and practice.

Now, I am liking the UFC fight and definitely watch with this one. Betting would be an option since I do like also betting. Well, I will have to wait and see this going to happen.

Still not sold that Israel Adesanya will be winning the match this easily even though Gastelum haven't fought inside the octagon for a long time he still ranked higher by one spot compared to Adesanya and let us remember that his recent last fight wasn't impressive at all as Anderson Silva lasted 15 minutes with him inside the cage making it reach to a decision loss. Gastelum can pick the pace with this guy but Adesanya is a dangerous clinical fighter when the rhythm gets going so he must not let him take control of the fight.

Of course, every challenger wanted to prove and become a champion.

Comparing the two, Max is  far ahead in terms of progressing and developing as UFC player. Yeah, Poirier is good, but I don't think at this stage of their career, he can beat Holloway.

You gotta be rooting for Max Holloway. This man for me had always been the most unpredictable to what he does in the cage. Some of his fights where we can see his opponent is much bigger but looking into what the fight dominance, its  always this guy  that controls the fight.

Not one of his biggest fans out there, but I watched his last two matches (TKO agaianst Brian Ortega, and similar result against José Aldo). His technique is quite good, but for some unknown reason I don't like him.

I've been waiting for their rematch and finally, it has come. Its been a long since they first fought and back then they were so young. I think Poirier will beat Max again but this time it's a K.O, unlike a submission win when he first fought Max.

However, you should consider that their fight was 7 years ago and Max was only a replacement fighter for Dustin Poirier.

Here is their first fight from UFC 143 on Feb / 04 / 2012.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqMwkVu3RNs
Max was 4-0 at the time, 20 years old and was paying out at 4.25
But boy have the times changed 7 years later and we find Max the favorite and rightfully so.

Time flies by but we can still able to presume that Poirier would still have this fight. When it comes to advantages then Poirier do have it but lets see on how Max perform/fight on this time out of 7 years
on gaining experience.

I like the main card and I think that the Holloway fight is interesting because of the history behind,  I thing Max had show a lot of improving so that's why my wallet is with him.

I all ready got my paralay and its only for the last 2 fights for the night.

Max Holloway ML
Israel Adesanya ML

This paralay don't give to much only a X2.27 but I think its easy money Cool

Dustin Poirier can have a chance in this matchup, not because of Poirier already won against Holloway but because there is much experience in Poirier side and he got the reach than Holloway, but even though there is an advantage in Dustin Poirier side Max Holloway would sure have a counter attack ready for Poirier, Well Holloway will sure come prepared in this bout, But my bet will still go with Dustin Poirier.

On the other hand, I think Adesanya will dominate Gastelum. I mean, he is more aggressive than the other but if Gastelum able to win this fight then he might probably get more respect from the crowd. He can now erase the thinking of others that he only got a lucky punch against Bisping (or am I the only one who think of this Grin).
When it comes to striking Adesanya has the upper hand but what happens if Gastelum controls Adesanya on the ground, he is a black belt in BJJ and has wrestling background on the other hand Adesanya does have a good take down defense and that makes this an interesting fight, Bisping jumped in too early after his loss to GSP and it was evident that Bisping was not in prime shape inside the octagon with Gastelum and it was not a lucky punch, it was a straight flush. Wink

I think Max has improved a lot since facing Dustin. And if my memory serves me right, it was Max' debut in UFC and Dustin give him that rude awakening entering Octagon.
I will go with Holloway this time, again he has improved and has the experience and the tools to beat Dustin in the rematch.
Both fighters have improved a lot from that stage and Max was around 20 years old when he fought Dustin and now his striking skills has improved a lot, hopefully we will be seeing Max v Khabib which is another interesting contest because of the take down defense of Max but does it matter when it comes to an animal like Khabib who will take down anyone.

I've been waiting for their rematch and finally, it has come. Its been a long since they first fought and back then they were so young. I think Poirier will beat Max again but this time it's a K.O, unlike a submission win when he first fought Max.
They both fought at 145 pounds in the beginning of their career and both has improved tremendously and Max became the champion in that division while Poirier is still searching for his first title, so the advantage as a championship level experience and that too in big fights goes to Max and he will be probably bigger than Poirier in terms of height and reach.

Interesting fight as well between Gastellum vs Adesanya and its for the interim belt at 185. Adesanya for me is the better striker here. So Gastellum needs to take him down on the mat and cut Adesanya's advantage. So style makes fight and this one is very fascinating match up. But I will give an edge to Adesanya because of his striker and other tools in his arsenal. He would dictate the tempo and will be on the defensive most of the time.

There are so many times I saw him not so fit every time he is inside the octagon, for me he always seems easily get tired, not as agressive as other fighters and guard off but the results of his matches do not match with those signs. It is so amazing that he can still manage the struggle and win in the end, now I realized why his monicker is "Blessed" Smiley. This time I'll go for Holloway.

Was going thru any news when this one caught my attention:

I will go with Holloway this time, again he has improved and has the experience and the tools to beat Dustin in the rematch.
