Johnson is a public figure and has perhaps been exposed to larger quantities of the virus, which can be a factor in severity of symptoms.

yes viral load is a big factor

this is why doctors who even with PPE can still get sick
they are up close and personal with the very sick(heavy viral load)

[[speculation]: matt hancock is medical minister and visits hospitals, he got sick first, so i suspect he was the path to boris]

we cannot see the virus, but if you imagine it like wet paint.
think about what you come into contact with and what you touch next. the more imaginary paint you get on your hand and then food and then in mouth, the more your body has to react to/handle/deal with

licking a door knob of a bathroom on the corona ward will be millions of times worse than sitting at home on your own and maybe coming into contact with a random letter in the post.

viral load is a big factor.
then is how your bodys immuno response system reacts to things.

what you dont want to do is get to the point where you are struggling to breath and using all your energy on your breathing untill your body cant do it anymore due to low bloodox/worn out.

so for now. just stay away from people limit what you touch. think about what you do before putting anything near your face/mouth.
this includes dont use a facemask if your then going to be constantly touchin it/adjusting it. as your defeating its purpose. and dont wear a mask if your then thinking your immortal to not care what you do with your hand face. again it doesnt work like that.

but to make things very simple
imagine everything is wet paint. and minimise how much can get to hand face mouth as possible
(its a easy game that works for kids so should work for idiot adults)

here is the but
not everyone who suffers severely or dies actually has a preexisting condition

This is quite true. Statistics show general patterns but mask the individual detail. Certainly it seems, as we'd expect, that people with a pre-existing condition are more at risk than people without. Similarly old people are more at risk than the young. On average.

However there are always other factors to consider. Johnson is a public figure and has perhaps been exposed to larger quantities of the virus, which can be a factor in severity of symptoms. Also he may (or may not) be physically healthy, but being in charge of a country at the present time is no doubt hugely stressful, and stress has a huge effect on the body.

I dislike him and his politics, but I hope he pulls through and is okay.

well in ACTUAL news

the first night(sundaynight-mon morn) in hospital boris had slight breathing issues but was breathing on his own, and just being monitored.
on second night(mondaynight-tue morn), he was moved to the ICU and given face mask oxygen.. not a ventilator. just oxygen mask.
on third night(tues night-wed morn) he is stable at the same level.

they are saying he is in same condition as tuesday, needing the extra oxygen but its not ventilated

just to clarify
there are 4 stages o oxygen support
1. nasel oxygen canula - mild air inhaled naturally through the nose
2. face mask oxygen - allowing more air and more control of flow of air. this is not pressurised
3. cpap oxygen - this is positive pressure air to mildly aid/ease lung support and get better airflow
4. intubateed oxygen - this requires sedation and tube down throat and the machine controls the breathing

boris is at 2 and has been stable at 2 since monday night

Update to this whole thing: Boris Johnson is 'stable' in ICU (CNN)

Seems as if Boris Johnson is stabilizing in ICU, breathing without assistance now and is in good spirits. While this could still take a turn for the worse, as Boris is an old person with conditions that put him at risk for this, I do think this is great news for all. You could hate the guys politics, but I would never wish death upon another because he has different views then me.

I hope everyone is staying safe!

Now it’s news worthy. Hospitalised? It sound like his days is numbered.

suddenly he’s been shifted to a hospital which brings up a very important question why wasn’t he admitted in a hospital earlier. Though the media is claiming that he’s been admitted as a safety measure, I feel his condition has worsened and the media is intentionally suppressing the facts about his health.

I think that's correct, yes. Not the media though, the government have been suppressing it in a bid to hide it from the media.

The government have for some time been intentionally underplaying the severity of his condition. The reason I would imagine is partly PR - they want to project an image of a capable administration who is in control of this thing, and partly managing the behaviour of the populace - the lockdown here in the UK has been in place for a while now, and there are concerns about how people are coping, both with the physical aspects such as securing food supplies amidst panic-buying, and the mental side of isolation, frustration, and fear. What the government want is to keep people calm in very difficult conditions. I'm no fan of the Conservative party, but they are in a tough situation here. They are also fighting the sensationalist news culture. I imagine a big part of why they wanted to keep quiet about Johnson's true condition was in order to avoid the newspaper headlines we are seeing this morning. Now apparently Johnson has been given 4 litres of oxygen, against the normal 15 - which suggests that whilst his situation is indeed serious, the oxygen and the ICU move are at least partly precautionary, not that this is apparent from the 'sick Boris faces fight for life' headline.

I don't like him, but I hope he recovers. I don't like the government, but I can see why and sympathise with why they are trying to manage the news in this way at this time.

To be clear, the ICU does not necessarily mean that he's on a ventilator or that he's in dire condition that would imply he's on his death bed. Not saying there isn't a real possibility of mortality, but he's the PM of the UK with underlying health conditions including the fact that he's overweight (which puts extra stress on the lungs). This could be done as a precautionary measure because his symptoms didn't improve for anticipation that he might need the extra resources that an ICU provides. Trump announced that a few American pharmaceutical companies had met with health officials in the UK regarding his condition and talked about experimental drugs so that isn't a hopeful sign but we need more information.

your right.
in the ICU they do not just deal with strapping patients to a bed sedatating them and shuvving a tube down their throat to blow air into their lungs.
they also handle people that just need a bit more pure air through a nasel pipe with 2 holes that sits outside the nose and allows you to breath in yourself under your own lung capacity.

they do have many progressive steps from that all the way up to needing to fully sedate and intubate..
but no information is provided about if its low medium high severity or critical

time line
11 days ago mild symptoms self isolated in his flat due to first having mild symptoms
(just lowgrade fever andslight cough)
7 days later fever and cough got a lil more intense. but managable. . was expecting the symptoms to have subsided but didnt so continued self isolating in his flat for another 3 days.
sunday 8pm slight breathing issues but fine. was told to go to hospital just to get checkup.
slept overnight in a normal isolation ward..
monday8pm got a bit worse and moved to intensive care ward.

for a guy that works over 40 hours a week and rides a mountain bike i would not say that he is noticeably unfit normally...

one thing to say about the whole 'pre-existing condition' conspiracies about corona
corona does not trigger your pre existing condition to be severe to be the cause of death of corona.
corona can trigger your preexisting condition and you can die from symptoms of that condition. but thats not a corona death

stupid people think if someone is tested positive for corona(symptomless/mild. but is going to hospital because their diebetes caused their leg to go gangreen and needed amputation. and happened to have died from septic shock or blood loss due to diabetic complications.. they would not be classified as a corona death just due to the corona test. they would be classed as diabetic complications death

corona has its own respiratory list of progressive symptoms , so it has its own category

pre existing conditions are ofcourse not good to have as while fighting corona, your putting strain on your body. so the corona symptoms can feelmore severe.

but here is the but
not everyone who suffers severely or dies actually has a preexisting condition
also
many people dont actually go to doctors to get every ailment diagnosed. many people only ever have a x-ray/ct scan when there is something big wrong.. so many people might actually have a pre-existing condition and not know it.

so lets not make this a point of trying to assume he had some large pre-existing condition he knew of but was hiding..

i have already seen people that stupidly think it only affects people who have had a fully diagnosed condition.
and were suffering massively from that condition
this is not the case.
not being fit, having a condition that you didnt realise. being worn out, malnourished.. many things wont help you fight a virus.

but.
there is also just the normal healthy person. whos immuno response is super alert and active to easily go into shock.
so dont turn this into a 'if your fit your safe' or 'if you unfit your guaranteed to die' thing because it isnt a guarantee either way

ive seen obese people in their 80's with a healthy heart.. and a 40yo who runs marathons who was shocked to find out he damaged his heart from trying so hard.

you just can never know.. so its especially best to stand on the side of caution rather then jump into risk thinking your immortal

Been hospitalized for a days now I'm pretty sure, as he'd been showing corona symptoms for 11 days now. Guy was just transferred over to intensive care, I'm assuming he has some sort of existing condition -- and he's also in the category of people where this hits the hardest, the older people.

Hopefully he gets well soon even if you hate him or his politics, this is a serious situation and you don't want to see anyone sick. Guy has a family and all of that.

he went to hospital on sunday at 8pm uk time.  normal ward
monday 8pm uk time transfered to ICU

Welp. Honestly having a hard time keeping track of time in quarantine, just feels like a permanent Saturday where the only thing I can do is work but I can do it whenever. Thanks for the correction though, I appreciate it!

My point still stands regarding the fact that I'd hope people can rise above politics and support him during this very tough time.

boris johnson's conditions has got worse.

he is now in intensive care with more severe symptoms than the first 10 days

it has been decided to deputise someone else to become the deputy leader and temporarily take control of UK government

...
people need to learn that this is not a simply 48hour runny nose thing for everyone

this is something that can for some progress to needing to be given a breathing mask
this is something that can then progress further to needing to be sedated/put into medical coma and fully ventilated
this is something that can become so critical people can lose their life even with fully staffed medical care.

and can be worse for those who need it but cant be given full medical care

which is the whole point of self isolation. delay things until medical support can catch up to be able to best support those that need it. but to still expect some deaths even with best care possible

You still don't have any proof, right? Still bowing to hearsay and lies, and liking it, right?

a video of boris himself saying how he is feeling is not hearsay.
but your faux news conspiracy videos you link are hearsay
try to atleast learn what hearsay is.

Are you positive that it wasn't one of his doubles that sent it to you? Dig yourself in deeper.

Btw, I'm not interested enough to require proof from you.

badecker it seems you get your inspiration from OAN
i first thought it was fox news. but it seems you have gone to the extreme path of OAN style

meanwhile in real news
maybe some people will realise that its not just a runny nose when they start seeing people they recognise get it

Coronavirus... a good excuse to get that well-needed vacation... to recuperate mentally from all the lies he is forced to tell.
videos show him getting sicker
he is in a hospital not a beach facing hotel

do try some research.

When does a person look the best ever? When he is in the coffin. Try doing some research sometime.
