ok will try this.

Did you have to pin short some pci slot or no ?

Yeah, there is not a setting like that in the BIOS IIRC.  I have a rig with this board.  I could get 5 GPU's in it easily, just never could get the 6th to even show up at all in Windows.  I used the 4 1x slots and the first 16x slot only.  The 2nd and 3rd 16x slots either did nothing or caused other cards not to show up.  If you have not tried already, just start at the top and plug one card in at a time, boot and check Device Manager to verify its detected, rinse and repeat.  Just skip the 2nd and 3rd 16x slot.

I looked in the bios but find nothing where I can select gen.  I will double check

set your pci slots to GEN1 in the bios (default is gen3)

ok will try the jumper.

I intend to try first to disconnect one working card to make sure that it is actually the pci1x slot that is not recognized

this should be a sticky in troubbleshooting hardware/Multi-GPU mining

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-motherboard-that-require-shorting-pin-a1-b17-for-pci-e-1x-to-work-36061

I'd bet it's covered there either in BIOS settings and/or jumpering the slot

I think I need to do pin shorting but can someone confirm ? I cannot see this mobo in the list.

That isn't an all inclusive list.  Try the A1 B17 jumper and see if it detects. It's a quick troubleshooting step to find out if that is your issue.
yes and no on the ' quick ' part, there are a few posts later in there that reqired 1 slot empty on a board that had 7 slots and a similar ( not from the same manufacturer ) where 1 slot needed a jumper, the rest didn't.  It's a long read and could be worth it for alt coin mining as GPUs are still cheaper to get ( for me at least, and only the older OpenCL ones ) than dual miners or the new asic script miners.

FYI I am mining alt coins and selling them for bitcoins.

In the BIOS, for internal graphics adapter I can choose between PEG and ICG. I had PEG before and I switched to ICG. I also enabled Multi Monitor.

No point stickying information on hardware that is only of historical value to bitcoin mining.

I am using risers on all Cards.  I tried to put a dummy plug into the 4th card but it is not detected.  My 4 Cards are connected to pci 1x slots on the mobo.

you are mining Bitcoins with GPUs?

Doubtfull, it's more profitable to mine any script coin and convert to BTC compared to the low entry cost of ASIC mining.

Still... How many ' dummy ' plugs you using per card??  Windows 95 and newer all have a hard coded 9 screen max so If you are doing more than 1 screen ( plug or real screen attached ) per card, you are going to have issues.  Technically ( not realisticaly ) you could have 9 GPU cards set up and running in Winblows OR what ever you can stuff in for LINUX.

More details on how you are connecting would assist us in assisting you.

Do I need to use pin shorting for this mobo ?

I tried to use dummy plugs it does not work.

Although I have the same setup with  Linux and I have 4 cards running.
