This is just my investigation on this issue, probably one member has reported one or more of your post/s and this is I observed (feel free to correct me).

Case #1 - just go scroll a bit upward and you'll see the same message format of it, I guess that's laziness leading to banning IMO. (By the way the post below is a plagiarized postftp:// as well and I've already reported that.)

Confirmed that i Received the Payment
Thanks

Thank you Dabs,

Cheers,

Case #2 - this is just my wild guess but I am sure he did it again this time. There is no rule/s saying you have to put that message on the thread if you wanted to join the campaign.

The most nearest case would be OP clicking on the lock account link in the password recovery email mistakenly. Roll Eyes
I don't think so, I think a locked account won't be shown on any public logs
bpip scraped data from seclog and modlog, autoban was on modlog
so I'm pretty sure he has broken a rule, plagiarism, spam or ban evasion, that made him get banned by mod

I see, from the dates of getting banned and the reset of password, it is clear that he tried to change the password of an already banned account, which was surely for breaking some forum rule.

3/3/2019 8:45:04 AM   password reset via email
2/13/2019 8:59:16 PM   Changed to Archived status   Autoban user

And yaa, locked status doesn't seem to be updated in the mod log and not indicated publicly anywhere.

I would assume you tried to change pass for an already banned account most likely.
This!! you got it right. check out the dates shown on bpip logs

This user looks to be banned for almost an year now, since Feb 2019 give or take
And now you come with print screens from BPIP ? Login and make a print screen of the forum
I would assume you tried to change pass for an already banned account most likely.
Wait for the reply to the email you sent Smiley

It seems it is the other way around. If you answer correct the acc gets locked and you need to email and prove it is your acc. Not sure what the logic is but... it is what it is  Grin

Even if you answers to the security questions correctly, your account would be locked until you prove the identity via email listed in the banned message. It doesn't looks like the case with the OP as he said, he just tried to reset the password via email.

This is a Public Service Announcement:

If you lose your password, DO NOT USE THE SECRET QUESTION TO RECOVER THE ACCOUNT. It will result in your account being locked. Please use the email recovery option to recover the account.
The reason that the accounts are locked is because the May 2015 hack leaked Bitcointalk's database which did not securely secure the Secret Question and Answer. To prevent people from guessing the answers, theymos made it so that accounts that are recovered using the secret question are automatically locked when the option is attempted. This is to prevent hackers who may be able to guess the answers from the leaked database.

If you have had your account locked, to recover it, please send and email to the email displayed on your screen when you try to login. You can also create a new account and pm both theymos and badbear. In the email and PM, to prove your identity, You MUST sign a message with a bitcoin address that you have posted previously, at least 2 months prior. Please be patient. Theymos and BadBear are busy people. Your email or pm may become lost among all of the other stuff that they have to do. You should resent your email and pm once a week so that they will see it and get around to you. If you need help signing a message, check this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-sign-a-message-990345

If you haven't lost your password yet or you have regained access to the account, don't set the secret question, it can be a hassle. Make sure that you have the email set to an email address that you can access. That will make everything so much easier and will not require the long recovery process.

Did you try to reset via secret question? What that does is blocks your account and you need to send an email to unblock
I thought that if things went wrong when one was resetting a password via secret question (maybe due to wrong answer), the account would just get blocked but not getting autobanned like in OP's case  Roll Eyes

I have never seen a case of a profile getting  autobanned because of an attempt to change password. The most likely reason your profile has been banned could be due to plagiarism or ban evasion.

Try checking out posts you could have shared without mentioning sources on your post history.
