What is that retarded fucker kruw doing, apart from being a son of a bitch, promoting coinjoin if it is going to end on June 1st? Or did I misunderstand?

Now he is running his own WabiSabi coordinator. Well he better have a large anonymity set if it is going to be any useful.

It was expected of him. He earned his reputation here the hard way, so why not use it in the best way.
What can go wrong if you add one line of code (linked to its server) to your wallet config file?

The point is not to look for a way it, but rather just trying to highlight where we are now and how stupid and embarrassing it is for a product that claims to enhance privacy and provide anonymity can now identify users via IP addresses and block them  Grin

A website wouldn’t be functional if it couldn’t see a visitor’s IP address. Not being able to access a website from certain IP addresses doesn’t affect the privacy of your wallet’s transactions in any way. Whatever communication happens between a Wasabi client and zkSNACKs servers, they have no way of knowing where it’s coming from and therefore won’t be blocked as long as you don’t go out of your way to disable the Tor service. I don’t know why anyone would even want to disable Tor and compromise their privacy in the first place.

Mixing sites are scams. They take custody of your coins and don't provide you with any privacy. There's a LOT of Bitcointalk users who partnered with these scamming sites.

If you want privacy on Bitcoin, you have to use a coinjoin transaction. Coinjoins are non custodial and completely private, there's no trusted third parties.

Nice advertisement of you indirectly telling people to use your coordinator now that the two largest and most relevant coordinators have been shut down.

You can get around it by installing a VPN and configuring your whole computer to use it.

Somehow at the same time when Samurai was closed and Wasabi announced the shutdown of the Coinjoin function, these two mixers went offline. I'm not sure if these events are related, but I wouldn't be surprised if these mixers used Samurai and Wasabi in the background among others.

The claim that mixing sites are scams is not accurate. Jambler has been working with all partners for years, I have not seen a single active scam accusation against anyone from that network.

Only the campaign managers should be the one who knowing more than other users, but since they didn't say anything, we can assume they also don't really know the problem is.
Experience has shown that most times, the campaign managers have no special relationship with project owners. They just meet over the net, maybe on telegram or discord and they discuss business and promotion starts. It has happened many times that things went wrong and the managers wouldn't know the way about of the project owners.

I will say it depends, ZKSNACKS have already shut down their CoinJoin coordination service, but if the government still comes for the developers, then the wallet may suffer similar fate like the ones that were seized.

That's good news for those who usually use this wallet. Developers just choose to survive and follow the US government laws and new regulations but no more coinjoin service.
Aside from that, they've dropped their US operations. And with that they're playing safely now as they've dropped that service(coinjoin) so basically, they're going to run the wallet as a normal wallet now. But that has lost the record where they've known for, as a privacy wallet. Well, the government have been shutting down mixers, coinjoin services and other services to increase a user's privacy and anonymity. So, this is a challenge to most of us especially the developers that are for privacy.

It seems that only Sparrow Wallet survives having this service? No news yet about this wallet.

there will be always people willing to code and release open source to enhance privacy, it is likely coinjoin will spike in relevance on the future.
The government are arresting and charging developers who create and write codes of privacy enhancing software and services, and this is a very big hit to privacy. If people are scared of jail time, they would not write codes that would help bitcoiners stay private when they use BTC.
Do you think Wasabi will be still available until next year?

While it's unclear if this is due to government action or other factors, it's worth noting that regulators have been increasing scrutiny on cryptocurrency-related services in recent years.

how isn't it not clear for you that it is the governments are behind this?

I didn't know I was replying to a bot, I got fooled.

So much for anonymity and privacy. It looks like the Censorship has finally won.

Recommended only for sweeping of course.

Hy,

the two biggest bitcoin mixer websites are down since this week.
US government already on the advance or hard active with new regulations? does anyone know more?
These 2 websites ( [banned mixer] & [banned mixer] )have been attacked and have been set offline now for several days.

Times are probably getting harder and harder for Bitcoin mixers

It's concerning to hear about the downtime of the two major Bitcoin mixer websites. While it's unclear if this is due to government action or other factors, it's worth noting that regulators have been increasing scrutiny on cryptocurrency-related services in recent years.

Bitcoin mixers, which offer anonymity by mixing transactions, have drawn attention from authorities due to concerns about their potential use in illegal activities like money laundering. This downtime could indeed indicate a challenging time for Bitcoin mixers as they navigate regulatory pressures.

Well, that is certainly something I did not expect to say from wasabi and it probably has something to do with new regulation incoming from the United States which we are likely to know about soon enough.
I would not say it is completely over, this may affect only centralized services, since Bitcoin is open source and there will be always people willing to code and release open source to enhance privacy, it is likely coinjoin will spike in relevance on the future. Though, if that happened, then the next step to take by exchanges and regulators would be to block accounts and seize funds/satoshis which do not have a clear transaction history since the date they were mined.
I am afraid it could be just matter of time before either we stop depending on centralized services like exchanges or we completely surrender our right to privacy within the context of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin as a whole... Only time will tell, though it does not look good as how it stands today.

It seems you are one of the Wasabi staff?

Currently, only two wallets that I know still operating with this feature Sparrow and Wasabi but I don't think if these wallets will stay until next year because the government seems trying to wipe out all services and wallets that can be used for money laundering.

Do you think Wasabi will be still available until next year?

It's a good thing that the forum was quick to bank all the mixers in the Forum because had it been some of them are still allow on be forum, the forum would have been taken down because as this once are been seized by the government, more and set come will keep appearing in the Forum but I haven't seen new ones officially lunch even as they went to other alternative forum, the government are running after them.

There are reports that anytime mixers went offline for days like this, you should know that the mixers ar been sieze like how Sin*ad mixer that time, and people that has money stock on this mixers, you have nothing than to just know that your Bitcoin are gone. But despite this, if the government doesn't want mixers here and there, they need to compound publicly and let people know so they can avoid mixers from beginning.

When you want to mention a mixer site in the discussion, avoid using their full domain name. This is forbidden on the forum. Discussing mixer sites is still allowed, I believe, as long as you don't include links to their sites or their full domain names.
