Now a days newbies are trying to convince high ranking's people to get at least 1 Merit because they are unable to join bounty/other campaigns.
This sentence doesn't even make sense.  It's the Newbies who need 1 merit to rank up, and I'm not sure who you think is trying to convince someone to do something.  What I think is that you haven't been here long enough to start running your lips about the merit system and what you think of it being abused.  If you'd been here long enough you'd know most merit abuse goes unpunished but not unnoticed.  So don't you worry your pretty little head about it.  *Edit* I misread the year OP registered.  Now I'm fairly certain this is an alt account that he's trying to rank up.

PS: Avoid forum politics by the way.
That's a good idea in general, but is a solid piece of advice for a member who hasn't been here long and doesn't understand the system and abuse thereof he's trying to talk about.

To me this means: "I'm not searching for merits, but I'd like some" which is essentially the question being asked before...
Of course that's what it means.  Any time you see a noob starting a thread in Meta about merits, he's looking to get merited.  OP struggles with English, and I highly doubt he's going to be earning merits if he keeps trying to post in that language.  Best bet would be to try the local boards and hope there's one that fits and that there's a merit source lurking about.

Bitch shut the fuck up
I'd probably have said exactly that if I wasn't trying to be less abrasive.  Trying.  I'm not 100% sure it's going to work out.

Exactly the same way you're trying to convince us to give you merits in disguise of being helpful and being concerned with what you claim is merits being used for the wrong purpose
I am not searching for Merit. I am sharing my opinion just. But in reality, everyone wants benefits.

TBH, I'd like to see a lot of members giving newbies their first merit, even if they don't deserve it at all (it might give them to kick to want to try to get more)... Also, if you earnt a merit when you came here originally and have made another 1000+ posts and not earnt another, I think you'd be more likely to give up than not getting a merit at all. (I have to say I have given merits before and thought "they don't deserve that merit" - but the merit system is irreversible for a reason, the admin want even accidental merits to stay as they don't make too much of a difference).

Why we need to convince them? Actually we are responsible for the market condition. If we try to control the market, mostly it is possible.

I think some high ranked persons are helping those newbies who don't deserve Merit. Where Merit is not needed, we are seeing that there Merit has been given
Make a list of merited post who do not deserve merit and explain why you think they do not deserve. Better send PM to Admin about your problem.
If they complain about amounts, tell them to complain to me.

Wondering you just woke up and complain about merit and higher rank.

Now a days forum members really don't care much about merit abusing (I guess). If you spot a post which was not merit worthy then bring it in public, tell us why do you think it's wrong. Don't expect any result though..

The reason for that is because quality and the worth of a  post is subjective and opinions can be very diverse with no laid down procedure to follow. Regulating merits in any way and taking strict actions may just reduce the flow of merits.
Theymos is of the opinion that if they aren't merit sources then the abuse is very insignificant and does not count for much.

Hopefully authority will take action against such kind of people who are using Merit unnecessarily.

Have you reported this to the police?
No need. I am only concerning the authority who are able to take good decision through online. I just want to see the forum clean and good uses of Merit.

You have posted these posts just one following the other, check the rules, you'd be better to try to combine your posts into one if you want to reply to more posts.

There are specific topics for reporting merit abuse, you can check there maybe someone have already reported the strange things you are talking about, and if nobody has reported it, report it.

This basically sums up what the administration is going to do concerning giving merits away to "unworthy" posts:

If they complain about amounts, tell them to complain to me. It's best if sources try to exhaust their source allocations, even if it means giving posts higher amounts than is typical. If you have 150 source merit and you only see 3 merit-worthy posts in a month, then I'd rather you over-give each of them 50 merit than let the merit expire. That way there are more people capable of sending merit, and the "merit economy" is less top-down.

If a DT member tags you for something stupid involving merit (ie. probably anything less than selling merit), then they're not going to be a DT member for much longer.

Aside from that, if people complain about whether things deserve merit at all, then that's something to perhaps think about, but if you conclude that they're wrong, then that's that. You don't need to stress about it or defend yourself constantly. It's conceivable that someday you and I will end up disagreeing too much about this stuff and I'll remove your source status, but it's really not a big deal.

The topsendban list is just a first indication of abuse, and many excellent people are on it. Your place on there acts as a sort of benchmark: eg. chandra12 has a similar score there, but whereas you are an extremely active merit-giver with a diverse selection of posts merited (most of which anyone would agree with), chandra12 only has two large merit sends. His behavior in comparison to yours while having a similar topsendban score is what creates a strong abuse impression.

I appreciate the work of you and other sources who take it seriously!

If you have specific complaints about how someone is dispensing the merit, simply start a thread in the Reputation board. If your gripe has any merit, Theymos will most likely take notice and take the appropriate action.

They are doing this by creating redundant threads, and they are often just repeats of previous topics. It doesn't seem to earn them any merits, and it often gets them onto the ignore lists of the merit awarders.

It would help if they took some trouble to improve their English as well.

If you have found or come across a case of blatant merit abuse, fell free to post/report such users, but apparently you haven't cos you make this statement with no evidence, not even a link

The forum/moderators have been doing such already,as they get tagged by DT members.
