"There are problems with memory consumption and battery drain since it requires to be run in background or user will need to wait for long sync time on every run."

I use the Shildbach android Bitcoin wallet. Don't leave it open. When needed, open it; it hammers up to speed; I send -- though it can take some time to get 'full green circle' confirmation' (but I am, quite literally, probably the last Bitcoin outpost on the bottom left corner of Oz).

Cool idea with the wallet! Great in terms of exposure. Much easier to turn people onto it if you can give them a little uno right on their phones.

Android wallet is a great thing, well done on pursuing it! I have a few UNO for this project when I have access to my wallet later tonight. Well done and thanks all involved for your efforts!

My knowldge of the technicalities of android wallets is zip zilch nada -- but Hash Engineering produced the Franko wallet [ https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hashengineering-android-wallet-creation-service-336215 ], which we tested in December 2013: my personal first experience of such a wallet.

Was a beauty! (Will seek opinions from the Franko guys)

"So... I purchased a Genesis Mining contract." Go, Zelig!

Dedicated Android Wallet for UNO - Request funds for development

Greetings Everyone,

BitcoinCharlie and I have been off-line discussing what it would take to get an Android wallet in the Google play store. I've reached out to HashEngineering to gauge their interest in developing an android app for Unobtanium for a fee, and their response has been that a wallet would cost 1.5 BTC. Please take a look at their topic here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hashengineering-android-wallet-creation-service-336215

My experience with HashEngineering has been through Myriad, and I can say that I am impressed with their skill, response time and dedication. I believe that they may be the best Android coin dev's out there for altcoins. Feel free to drop by their topic and ask any questions, they are nice folks. Also, if you have an android device search for them on the Play store and try out one of their wallets. The main reason I see them as being the right folks for the job are:

  • They have experience with SHA256 coins (UNO's mining algorithm)
  • They have experience with KGW difficulty (UNO's difficulty calculation)
  • They have recent experience with AUX-POW (UNO's upcoming merge-mine capability)
  • They are known developers who have been around a while, and seem to have a passion for this work (as far as I know, they did Myriad's wallet just for the challenge)

Technically, they seem to have all the pieces in place, they would just need to pull it together for UNO. They have high confidence that a wallet will take < 2 weeks of development time, and they can begin in approximately 2-3 weeks.

I am asking for donations to fund this project. We will need to gather at least 125 UNO (at today's price) to fund this project for the next year. Please consider that as a minimum, ideally it would be good to make sure a quality developer is well funded to keep their interest. I have set up an address to send funds to:

udroidNXd1YNoL1DgNu8NktemcnexiBByM

I've started the fund with what I can afford from donations to my projects. I ask you to help if you see value in this idea. If we make the goal, here is what will happen based on discussions with HashEngineering:

Quote
My payment terms work as follows:
1.  Half the payment is due when the app is published to Google Play
2.  Half the payment is due a month later after any bugs are worked out.
3.  I can take BTC or BTC equivalents (other coins).
4.  One year of updates would be included in the price.  The updates would include any coin forks, bug fixes, checkpoint updates and possibly some updates from Bitcoin Wallet (by Andreas Schildbach).

Source code and apk files are published to my github account, but I can also publish it to an additional account.  Hosting on my Google Play account is also part of the price, but if you have your own account then I can provide the apk files.

The schedule is as follows:  I can start working on this in 2-3 weeks based on my current work load.  From that point it will take less than 2 weeks to finish the app, assuming that there are no extremely difficult problems to solve.

In the event that something goes wrong, or we don't gather the required funds within 2 weeks, I will refund any coins sent to fund this project (coins will be sent back to the origin address). If half the payment is sent to HashEngineering and for whatever reason the other half does not get sent, I will refund what is left percentage wise (back to the origin address).

Credit for this idea should go to BitcoinCharlie.

Thoughts?

Sounds great.  Sending a small donation your way.  I hope everyone helps out in any way great or small possible ~ !

Please keep us updated on funds raised to date.

Charlie and Cryptapus  thank you guys!
We must have android Un wallet. Tonight when got to home I send  you Un.

"There are problems with memory consumption and battery drain since it requires to be run in background or user will need to wait for long sync time on every run.

I would agree for coins with fast block times. UNO has a 3 minute block time so it should not be so bad. I don't know if KGW will impact the speed too much, that's probably a good question for HashEngineering.

Most android wallet out there on android play store are not true decentralised wallet as far as I know, its vulnerable to server downtime and hacking attacks on centralised providers."

Not my words. But guess is a usual problems for that androids wallets ..... .??

The Schildbach bitcoin wallet (which is the code HashEngineering works from) from my understanding is a full bitcoin node, not relying on any centralized provider. Think of it as bitcoin-core completely re-written in java. Thus this UNO wallet would be decentralized and would continue to work even if HashEngineering disappeared or another hard-fork in UNO was required.

Wondering how much gonna cost iOS app? I'm  just  curious...

Unknown. I don't know of any completely open source bitcoin wallet for iOS (maybe copay?). Certainly not with the maturity of the Schildback solution.

Zooming into the daily bars of the same chart.
Great charts rojan, keep them coming. I've also been doing some chart analysis lately and IMO we're in a great spot now.

Support held strong above 0.1 and the downtrend that started with the Mintpal dumps has reversed (MACD crossed and moving up, last time that happened in a similar manner was around the new year, check the charts to see what happened next). Several other indicators also point up, but I am still waiting for confirmation. If UNO breaks .013 resistance that would be a bullish sign.

Of course this is all just speculation, with crypto being as volatile as it is you never know. But I feel very good about my purchases of UNO at ~.011 levels...

So... I purchased a Genesis Mining contract.  A whole 0.1 TH/s.  I'm pointing 0.05 at UNO and 0.05 at BTC.

I know this question came up recently, so sorry for asking it again;  Is the Network Hashrate posted to the unobtanium.uno page accurate / updated regularly?  It presently indicates; 25.6 TH/s.

Edit:  Unobtanium Blockchain Explorer indicates 27.078 TH/s.

Thanks,
Z
The site pulls all the data from block explorers when you load the page, so it should be fairly accurate. I use some light caching to reduce the number of requests going out though, so if you really want the very latest and hottest data check out the APIs directly.

@ F.K.: I shall keep you in the loop about how Project Hoover/Un-Ex could reduce automated-exchange trading-volume a tiny bit down the track . . . but provide real benefits that solidly outweigh that -- it came straight up in conversation when we met in Perth the other day!

Good morning, IMZ.

Just looking over the Uno charts. There was a fair few traded on Cryptsy & Bittrex today.

Why the biggest uno wallet considered as cryptsy wallet? How can it remain untouched for so many days and have only one adress?

The #1 wallet is Cryptsy's cold wallet for Uno.  There is also a cryptsy hot wallet.  The cold wallet only changes when there is a big withdrawal that depletes the hot wallet.
Go buy a ton of Un (1,000 Uno) and withdraw it, and you'll see what I mean.

Morning! Taa for re-iterating that, F.K.

Lil' Shooter, now the proud holder of 3 kg's of Uno wants to join us here.  He wrote to me on Reddit and said that when he tried to sign on here, he got this:  http://imgur.com/YwMggeM

So, what do we do?

log in through TOR?
That's great (the part of him wanting to join us).

On the TOR problem, I guess tell him to try and switch different exit nodes on Tor until he gets one that hasn't been used "for evil."

Or connect with us on Cryptocointalk.com
