Still working behind the scenes on the 'Award.  We will still get what fiat funds are left after stupid friction to the winner's organization.

Paying in only UNO was an option, but I'd rather actually send a gift this year, anyway, and thereby The Unobtanium Community is in the process of donating to a real charity.

We're still working on it....

that project seemed too big for such a small (sorry) award.  i think the girl with the magnetic circuits was a better choice because she's a young technically inclined individual from MIT and not some grandiose non-profit save-the-world organization.

We all learned a lot. It brought us together, and called out some people are doing some really good things. I had never heard of most of them. Next year we can leverage our learning and make some adjustments. I'm grateful for Benefactor showing us what we can do, and organizing us around the project, oh -- and also for putting up his own funds.  Doing nothing is easy; people who put themselves out there and try to make things happen are a real treasure to any community.  And as a result of this project, needed capital will go to a worthy organization and it all started with Uno!

@ Benefactor: I am sad to be the bearer:

"Dear Mark,
Thanks for your interest in the OceanCleanup. Unfortunately in this stage we cannot accept cryptographic currencies. However we are glad that you want to donate, and if you are still interested to do so, would it be possible for you to convert the unobtaniums to dollars, or any other 'regular' currency?
If so, please donate to:
Account member(IBAN): NL73 ABNA 05294 51824
Bank Name: ABN Amro
BIC: ABNANL2A
Thanks in advance!
Yours sincerely,

 Kees van Bezouw "

I am going to be my cynical self and say that if crypto isn't "normal" enough of a currency for them, then they get nothing. Sorry. I am sure there are some stupid legal loopholes or something if the donation is made directly to the foundation or what ever. If you were to donate it directly to a person, spouse or other immediate family, things might be different. I am all about working with them so that they can receive their uno, but this wasn't just a monetary donation thing for the sake of being altruistic. This was to help people who help, and to help uno while helping people. Or am i off base, and this was just a way to donate? I would have rather just donated u.s dollars if that was the case, just saying..

I am a stickler for word use. Terms like "regular" piss me off. Regular to who? Who sets these standards? That ONE word is what is making me say screw them. It is just as ignorant as saying "i only support regular marriage, between a man and a woman, ya know, regular, normal marriage." It is ignorant. Am i being ignorant with this, yeah, a little. Then the nerve to plaster your banking info there. "Sorry, your internet funny money is no good here, but if you decide to trade that in for real money, you can feel free to send that here" really? How about just, "thanks for your thoughts and considerations, unfortunately we are unable to accept cryptos, good luck with your projects and getting your coin recognition" That just rubs me the wrong way.

@ Benefactor: sent a 'standard contact-email' to Boyan's organisation. Will stay on the case -- but success has made him, it seems, an organisation.

Mark

UNO is featured on Bitcoin Rush today! This guy is a character! Smiley  Check it out, around 3:45.

Bitcoin Rush was able to put some of Prominerone's great graphics to good use!

If you like his work, you can tip btc at 17vPhPit8cZP3sspyFw57f4Tj98ab9Hm3g, or tip uno: uW8UQt3uTPHxeVL59WamzRjTfyCJbjPxvd
