You guys no whats going on with mintpal lately? Their volume is way down and weird things have been going on there. btw are they still taking 200 confirms for uno and even more for rdd??
Last week-ish, I pulled everything out of there when they began their long confirmation process, but since then I hear many people having issues with more than one coin.
why are they having problems with forked coins? is anyone else curious about this? They are a big UNO market, at least potentiallly, but the way things have been going.......
thoughts?
That hack was devastating to their volume. Lots of traders pulled coins.
MP told me they are detecting double spend attacks on certain coins, including Uno, so they raised the confirms on deposits.
I hope MP can recover. I don't like the 200 Uno confirms either, but I'll put up with it a while yet. I'm certain that 200-confirm limit has and will cost them Uno trade volume. If a big longterm pump started though, I would be sending coins to Cryptsy instead of waiting 10 hours for MintPal to confirm my Uno.
Things change so very fast in crypto. It's astounding how quickly things can change. Who knows... next week maybe Bittrex is hacked and SwissCex jumps to the top of the pile. These things can happen overnight.
I currently have no coins left on Mintpal either and you know I've been a big fan of theirs since launch. They're just not transparent enough about what has happened and what they're doing to increase security. IMO crypto is suffering right now due to the lack of trust in Mintpal. It was the go to place.
So now Bittrex is supposed to be #1? I like them but seriously? The interface is still a bit slow and clunky and I don't like their practice of basically hosting every new shitcoin that asks.
They've had so many scamcoins lately, its a joke. No standards. They add a coin, it gets pumped (or just dumped) then volume drops and the coin is removed after a few weeks. This is a system that encourages the constant creation of new pump and dump scams and actively destabilizes the market as a whole.
Other than that I've had good experiences with them. They only need to set higher standards for the coins they add. Let C-Cex and Coins-E be the cribs now and concentrate on legit stuff Bittrex!
