I wish I had the patience to post this tomorrow, but I think it's timely.  I want the other UNO investors to know my strategy and feelings at this moment.  I'm NOT SELLING market price right now.

Holding and not buying, now, until there's proof.  (No need for me to panic sell, regardless.)  "They can only sell it once." - remember that quote if you understand the long-term.

It's possible there's a delay to buy cheap, or....someone was just unloading cunningly.

Fallingknife - if you think you might be getting worked over, tell us.  Who isn't keeping promises?  If someone doesn't fulfill their rumors or promises, just out them.  Give us the transcript - they didn't keep their word, so they breached the assumed agreement.  I don't give a crap who they are.  Just tell us the truth, and knock off the closed-door.  Maybe not today, but tomorrow, then.

Otherwise - it's on your reputation.

---

In the future, the team leader should NEVER agree to a closed-door anything.  Next time it happens, my vote is that you lose your honor in this community.

UNO NO LONGER DOES CLOSED-DOOR!!!

sorry, i don't make any special buys outside my normal schedule and budget.  might have to wait til the "public" eats that sell wall.

also, things are getting weird in the world of UNO; announcements about announcements, name drops, lots of yap with no action, soopy coming and going so quick, events supposedly happening in private that forum members aren't privy to....yeah, weirdness.

i think i'm gonna just sit back for a while and watch.
Announcements of announcements are the new hype, lol. "Yo we're going to have a MAJOR announcements on Friday, stay tuned" - then on friday "we're announcing we're working on something BIG, unfortunatelly we cannot disclose anything - but it will be revolutionary!" - then a week later the dev dumps his premine and is gone.

In this case its a bit different though. Bryce Weiner is not the UNO dev, and there is no premine. I know he has a bunch of UNO, he said himself he's a "1%er" - someone who holds >1% of UNO. But he has so often referred to UNO as one of his favourite coins, I highly doubt he has anything on his mind that could be harmfull to UNO.

What events are you referring to that are happening in private? Since when is it unusual to use emails and PMs to communicate with specific individuals? AFAIK FallingKnife has been in touch with a few exchanges and potential new devs, such talks NEVER take place in public. And if the *potential* new devs/exchange request him not to mention their name until things are certain, that is completely normal too IMO.

I for my part have been exchanging PMs with him, because I didn't want to spam this thread with boring stuff about webhosting, html and other website related things. It is not a secret that we are working on a new website. You can read up on it right in this thread. We just don't have anything to show yet, so we keep quiet until the day we have. Which will be soon BTW. Smiley

Keep an eye on Bryce Weiner's Twitter feed today for an announcement regarding UNO.

Hmm, so far my prediction isn't that far off. We did see a couple of big buys (some pushing price close to .007), followed by a prolongued stay near the .004 mark. Now we're on the way up again, trading in the .0055 - .006 range.

Honestly, I didn't expect we'd get here this soon. I was expecting the dip to last longer and the increase to take longer. We'll see where this heads from here on out, but for now I'm quite pleased with how things are developing.

My only regret is not buying more UNO during the dip. But I simply had almost no BTC at the time.

Well I had promised a major exchange announcement yesterday. Sorry to disappoint, but it's still pending.  I had shared their time schedule for launching UNO, but I think this time around I'll just wait for it to actually happen. Everything is still a "go," they just have to set it up. Because I hate dead markets, I have hundreds of UNO ready to move in and bitcoin already in place for buy orders. I hope you'll join me in making this another active for UNO.

Just as soon as it's ready.

Very nice!!! Also can't wait to hear BW's big announcement tomorrow.

The man can move markets, but he's definitely earned that ability.

way earlier! Wait for the altcoinmarkets to jump once bitcoin settles around 1000$ to 3000$. Uno will be in the top 20 then. Possibly top10 if spartans don't drop it. Wink Look at the markets right now. Uno is one of the very few coins that does not get dumped heavily for btc. In fact it is doing what everybody was looking for: it is rising together with btc. If that remains the case uno can very well be top20 within a few weeks/months. More important: once it is there it will stay there if larger holders exit over time instead of all at once if they wish to exit.
The fundamentals for it are there and we will have a lot of positive news coming weeks PLUS halving soon AND Uno was very much under value lately. In fact we are rising from rock bottom. So the conditions couldn't be much better. Right now i am very bullish for Uno and hope we can see a prolonged constant rise.
I would expect top 20 within mid-time-frame
Very nice! I pray that you're right.

may i remind: bitcoin itself is still in beta. I think having a reliable coin that serves its purpose as a store of value is THE killerfeature right now. How many coins have died last 3 months? 50? 80? Many investors got burned a lot. Where should people put their money to have it safe? The answer: Bitcoin, Litecoin and Unobtanium. All the rest is experiments and can die fast (look at darkcoin). Uno has the lowest inflation of those three and the hardest total cap (i hope the number of coins will never be a topic of discussion - don't do a doge Wink )
In my view Uno is competing directly with btc, ixc, ioc and ltc as a longterm store of value. Number one priority should be the preserving value and logevity right now. Fancy features are nice but i think not that important in the end of the day. Let's have new features tested by other coins first before we have them implemented into uno. A little bit conservative thinking in crypto may not be all that wrong. Just my 2 cents though. Having a coin where people can put their lives savings in because they don't trust the bank anymore could be a huge advantage when shit hits the van. And shit will hit the van sooner or later.
Uno is basically Bitcoin on steroids. What else can you wish?

I think No1 priority should be: 'everything works perfect'
when that is achieved we can go after (tested) new features. Let's have a coin where any amount of money can be dumped into Wink
Innovation is one thing. Security is another one.
just the 2 cents of mine.

reading your post again, that was probably not the technical answer you were asking for. Maybe others can add more technical insights to the discussion.

Voluntarist, your reply was fantastic! I agree with everything you said. I thought that it was interesting when you said that UNO competes against BTC, IXC, and LTC as long-term stores of value. I've gone through all of the coins on Coinmarketcap several times, and I've decided to invest in only 3 (in order of highest value of holdings to lowest):
  • UNO: approx: 70%
  • BTC: approx: 20%
  • Devcoin: approx. 10%

I support UNO and BTC for obvious reasons. I support DVC because I use free software/open source software almost exclusively, and I really want to see developers get paid for their hard work. I really wish that every open source project in the world had a Devcoin donation address on their homepage. I'd send Devcoin to Firefox, LibreOffice, and GIMP TODAY if they made it easy and convenient to send to them. I haven't gotten to the mix above yet, but that is where I want to get to long-term. Right now, I'm like 98% UNO, 1% BTC, and 1% DVC, but I won't sell any UNO until it goes MUCH higher.

In all honesty, looking at Coinmarketcap.com, I could see UNO cracking the top 20 within the next year. We are very competitive with some of these top 20 coins: I predict that we'll be in the top 20 on or before by June 1st, 2015. Smiley

  • How much different is UNO than BTC from a technical standpoint? I know that we obviously have a much smaller total coinage, shorter block generation time, different block size, and different halving scheme. But we share the same SHA-256 hashing algorithm. What else is different?

Are we ever going to incorporate some of the features coming out in the new coins such as "darksend"?

  • I actually like the fact that we don't have an Unobtanium Foundation. To me it seems like unnecessary overhead.

I've been doing a little bit of research on Bryce Weiner. I found a very interesting short interview that he did here: http://altcoinherald.com/4-question-interview-bryce-weiner/
His interview was informative, and it led me to one of Satoshi's early forum posts here: http://p2pfoundation.ning.com/forum/topics/bitcoin-open-source?xg_source=activity

Reading such an early post about Bitcoin got me thinking. Does anyone know the answer to these questions:
  • How much different is UNO than BTC from a technical standpoint? I know that we obviously have a much smaller total coinage, shorter block generation time, different block size, and different halving scheme. But we share the same SHA-256 hashing algorithm. What else is different?
  • Are we ever going to incorporate some of the features coming out in the new coins such as "darksend"?
  • I actually like the fact that we don't have an Unobtanium Foundation. To me it seems like unnecessary overhead. But I AM very interested in how we are going to harden our wallet, and market UNO leading up to some potentially lucrative future events. For example, the December 2016 premiere of Avatar 2. Any thoughts?

Blazr2 was brilliant naming our coin Unobtanium, especially given that Avatar was the number one money-making movie of all time. It gives me the chills to think what could happen to UNO's price between June and December of 2016.

Trying to mine some at the moment... Damn pool hoppers not helping though - disappearing off the pool the moment the difficulty gets too much and then gracing everyone with their presence when it comes back down again... Sorry to whine, but it's irritating as hell...

found in the old thread:

I'm pleased to bring you the return of this thread. OP has been updated, thanks for flying Un.

Turned off for three months? No explanation? And we are expected to come rushing back? No Sir!

In my mind, this is now the official UNO thread. Falling Knife bust his a** for the last several months. I have no doubt about his commitment to UNO. As I see it, he is THE leader of the UNO community. Unless he tells me otherwise, as Tony Soprano used to say, that old thread is "dead to me".

I'm very happy that Blazr2 has re-opened the thread, and I'm thrilled that he is still interested in the UNO community. I've been chatting with him quite a bit recently.  Blazr has been really a great guy to talk with, and I can tell he's very pleased with what the community has been able to accomplish these past few months.  He re-opened the thread as a favor to me after I asked if we could update the OP info.  I think we'll probably close that thread gracefully at some point, and re-direct people to this thread (or vice versa... doesn't matter to me, as long as we have a good place to chat about UNO and organize).

He had his reasons for closing the launch thread. In some stories he shared last week with me, I could tell he wasn't pleased with how things progressed after Wolong. I don't hold it against him at all. It was time for the community to step up anyway.

I appreciate the re-opening the launch thread and updating the OP.  I'm glad for his cooperation and his interest in UNO.  He's UNO's founder! Let's welcome him back with a big sloppy kiss on the cheek.

Okay FK, thank you for that info. I feel a lot better now. I'll participate in both threads until we consolidate, and to Blazr2: WELCOME BACK!

let's have two threads. They are in different sections so that doesn't hurt, does it?
