(mining question) I'm only getting like ~50 MH/s from my 270x card. Does anyone else have 270x? Would be great to see your bat file config settings.

This reminds me of another coin that had a great developer, a killer feature and big plans but eventually suddenly died. Even the ATH price is the same as well as dev's MO and the dump. I really hope this is not the same scheme being pulled by someone.
SPR?

Aaaaand we have a winner Grin

You are just speculating. I don't get what is the contribution of these kind of comments to this thread.

Critical thinking is good. Do you think that posts like "Give me more cheap coins. We'll be rich! Buy buy buy!" make greater contribution?

It's just traders...or mining or something.  John invented FPGA mining...or is everyone forgetting that he did that among others things?

God dammit...

And was that coin also developed from scratch? Your comparison is pointless to say the least  Angry

I hope so, we'll see. That coin wasn't but there were some significant improvements to it made by the dev. There's always an expense-outcome trade off so it is not impossible to spend some time/money to develop something from scratch if the profit is going to be good.

Nope. The dev and coin I'm talking about were a real deal but something strange happened. He was also testing the main feature on testnet but then just disappeared and a dump followed.

Which coin?

It was probably a clone, not a complete rewrite that had been worked on for over a year before launch.

No, Poloniex would not have reviewed the code and lowered the necessary confirmations to 1 if this was a scheme.  Similarly, it wouldn't be the only coin that can be compiled on Android, iOS, etc. if it was a scheme.

John-connor is the real deal, probably the best coder in the altcoin space, but yes, his personality is somewhat... eccentric.

john-connor, bob surplus ? LMFAO bob wouldn't even have the brains to code something like this !

BTW if you are talking about crypto-circuits, that was a pure pump and dump.

I don't think john-connor would work on VNL for this long of his life just to screw his great achievement up.

Seriously this fixes all the problems of Bitcoin, other coins and betters upon them in every way possible.

Idcray farmers are known for mining and selling. My guess is that is all that is happening here.
Coincidence that their hash also left idcray pool to  their own private pool yesterday?

Seems like a big dump is happening. Buy walls anyone?

Might just be some selling to get ETH, but anyone buying that will find out what happens once people can move their coins. Most people can't install Linux and get Ethereum to exchanges. ETH will get a *lot* cheaper. As for fud about a public test, public tests are about testing, so if they think they can prove something, prove it.

from another thread

"Immediate concerns would be that UDP isn't a guaranteed delivered protocol (so packets may well never arrive), that the "Security Considerations" section of the paper is wrong (not sure how they got the impression you can't forge UDP origin), in fact very wrong (MiTM attacks, attacks on routing infrastructure), and simply skips most of the detail. Further concerns would be that any major network split seems inevitably likely to fragment the coin horrifically as there's no reconciliation mechanism I can see. It also seems incredibly optimistic about network propagation times - if we were confident about network relay speed, block times would be down in the seconds range (because why not?), rather than minutes.

Emphasis concerns, this is my quick eyeball over the paper without time to look at the code. Hopefully others can comment more meaningfully."

Always good to have another pool to help spread the hash around.

Just a suggestion, but you might consider offering a 0% fee period to encourage people to give it a try. Otherwise it may be hard to convince people to switch from a pool routinely finding blocks to yours just for a 0.01% fee discount
