They are both obviously very popular. But I think Dollar surely is bigger and is used more.

Bitcoin can very much replace Dollar, Dollar has many advantages over Bitcoin I think since it's already the cornerstone of the financial system and you can do everything with it and Bitcoin is still growing right now.
I would choose the bitcoin, its gonna win eventually also the bitcoin has a great market price so I think the bitcoin will win. Plus the bitcoin is also the future of all currency's everything is gonna be digital.

The price of bitcoin is too volatile at the moment. It is difficult to price the goods in bitcoin. This will deter the usage.

both have their own places, bitcoin for digital currency , and dollar for fiat use.

Both should and can co-exist IMO, Dollar is a necessary part of the current financial system and if BTC can not completely destroy it then USD will still be a part of the world, BTC can efficiently take over the over-the-internet transactions for it's USD equivalent IMO.
Problem is Bitcoin will be useful if accompanied by dollars and other countries currency. But conversely dollars can stand itself without bitcoin...

It's not a fight.... Bitcoin and fiat currencies as the USD can perfectly function together without problems. Bitcoin is tied hard to the USD price which won't change. There are more important things to focus on.

For me it's only bitcoins as my currency is not dollars and I need to convert them into cash. Currently, it is less than 10% of the transactions that take place in bitcoins. It's not even 1 as the users who use bitcoins are less than a lac. If bitcoins become a national currency, it can definitely be used more often in the near future.
I think for the time being as I am paid with fiat, so most of my transactions are in fiat. In the future, most of my transactions will be in bitcoin.
Dollar is the basis of the current economical system and although I am a big fan of BTC I don't see it changing the concepts of the current world system.
Yes dollar is very influential for other currencies even for the world economy. It is hard to me to match dollar for dollar if you want to emulate it will also affect other currencies. Bitcoin is still new to me and still a lot of development. Jump to:
