Interesting, just a few hours ago I used my Ledger Live with my device and there was no announcement of a new firmware upgrade. I guess it's not my turn yet and it will be rolled out gradually just like the 1.6.1 version was.

They claim they balanced out the increased size of the new version of the operating system by reducing the size of most of the crypto apps. Did you check if the apps are lighter now?

Ledger updated firmware for their Nano S version and latest version is now 2.0.0 with some important changes, and one thing I noticed is they again reduced available space for apps to only 144Kb because their operating system size increased.
They claim there are some new important features and enhancements, but we can't really review their closed source code and we can't verify anything they say.
According to ledger blog, most of the changes are related with redesign, better user experience and supporting altcoins like eth2.0.
They added progress bar that I noticed while updating my device, and added separate settings for PIN Lock and screensaver, and removed firmware upgrade identifier.

Read more details in their blog post and let the testing begin Smiley I see people already started to complain in twitter...
