What is the most efficient way to automate startup of the miner across multiple droplets?

From my experience you have to do it all again each time, it doesn't take very long though.

I don't understand how to access to the droplet anyone can help ?

I go to console access; then it asks for my login; but i can't type my password, it's blocked...

if someone who already did it can skype me; that would be nice Smiley

(give me ur skype via pm if you can help)

Glad you got it fixed. That stumped me too, I figured out eventually, just type in your password and you can't see it, but once you type it in, then you hit enter and your good to go!

I'm using the 4 CPU model, running one instance with 7 threads. I only get 26 c/m. Am I doing something wrong? If someone could give me some pointers or something that would be much appreciated. Should I run multiple instances and if so how would I do that?

Is this miner the most recent they released?

On my AMD 4 core at home I get 77c/m and I'm only getting 75-77c/m on the 8 core in the cloud.  Maybe this is to be expected?

Cloud Cores are slower than non cloud cores. I'm researching how to make it faster but don't be surprised if it is slower. Focus more on your profits/costs. I'll see if I can get it more optimized though:)

I followed your instructions on Xubuntu 12.4 and I get this after following your instructions -

Code:
.ptsminer: command not found

Code:
:~/ptsminer/src$ ls
main_poolminer.cpp    makefile.mingw    makefile.unix  sha2.h
main_poolminer.hpp    makefile.mingw64  obj
makefile.linux-mingw  makefile.osx      sha2.cpp

I'm willing to donate some coins for help.

Although after
Code:
sudo apt-get install -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev

I get -

Code:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

I've been running the script for around 8 hours, all that time beer was down. Does that mean I'm mining for nothing? I've seen no payments or anything in my wallet so I'm a little confused as to how this works.

The website is down but my laptop and online miner are both still connecting. We'll have to wait for statistics to come back up to see if we got anything. Also realize if your for example using the $10/month option, beeeeer.org pays out at 1.00 PTS which could take a while because 1 PTS = $7 and your not going to get like 1 every 8 hours from $10/month in expenditures, its not that profitable Smiley

Username for Github??

**Damn, Beeer is down again!!!! *** ARGH so frustrating.

Yeah its been a pain for me too. I'm trying to figure out how to get it to work for ypool.net, more reliable. Except ypool.net I haven't figured out how to see PTS earned per worker so unless you make a separate account for cloud computing it would be harder to see how much your cloud servers have earned and if there worth it.

Do you need a username for Github, it worked for me w/out one. That miner isn't mine I'm just linking to it for you guys to put on the cloud server.

However right now, my miners connected to beeeeer.org are still running, even though the stats aren't turning up I'll check it tomorrow morning to see how its doing.

Note that if you try and spend $10, I'll give you .25 protoshare ($2.5@currency prices on btc38, which means you can get you first $10 of cloud mining done as a test for 25% off)

*Thank you to Super3 and Belltown for the original guide*

Hello Everyone,
Recently a thread has been published about mining Protoshares on the cloud - something which can be very profitable to do. Here I have taken the feedback from people in the cloud and have decided to put that all in one thread for you guys. I've also tried to make it a bit simpler for "newbies".

To start, please sign up for DigitalOcean using my referral link: https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=3a96071d7d5f If you do, I'll give you some PTS for trying it out:), just post your address in this thread. To get extra, let me know you used my referral code (and if I got the referrals) then I'll give you .25 PTS!

Guide For beeeeer.org
First you need to create a droplet. I recommend starting with as large of a size as possible, though the best started is the 4 CPU / 8 GB - but feel free to start with a smaller one. Just don't use the smallest because when I tried it I got an error for using too much memory. . Make sure to make  Debian 7.0 x64 your image. Once your droplet is created you should see a button in the top right that says root access. Click on that button and use your username and password (that are emailed to you when you create a droplet) to log in.

Once you have logged in type in the following code in order:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix

git clone https://github.com/thbaumbach/ptsminer
cd ~/ptsminer/src
make -f makefile.unix
./ptsminer

Go to http://ptsweb.beeeeer.org/user/ to see how many coins your getting!

If this guide helped you to mine some coins please send your tips to PqmyVWJtJgb2qudCiDyQvTMo7ibJfWiuvY

Thanks!
