If I have to choose, than USA. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, which is very far away from a communist country, who actually keeps the value of national currency low purposely, to support export.

I think the acceptance in the USA will happen in segments from State to State and not in the USA as the whole. America is too divided to do this all at once.  Roll Eyes

I doubt if China will ever accept Bitcoin as a currency, because their government is over protective of their currency and also over their economy.   Roll Eyes

So my bet is on the USA.  Tongue

This is the dumbest thread and some really foolish replies. The question is about legalizing crypto, well if it isn't legal than it is illegal, that obviously is not the case in the US and not the case in China (which flip flops about banning the crypto) now if we are talking pure regulations and acceptance in the financial sector than the US is going to be leaps and bounds past China. China tries to manipulate their economy and refuses to let their own citizens take more than just a few thousand out of the nation per year, crypto threatens this and they are very anti losing control.

Just curious which one would be more accepting of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency for that matter. China nowadays seem to headline a lot about artificial intelligence and other technology. They are also promoting a cashless society. So I am betting on China.
Feel free to contradict. This is just me overthinking. Maybe, neither would even legalize it in the future. Or perhaps countries would create their own crypto?
in my opinion, it is we who will first legalize BTC as a virtual payment instrument in their country, because from what we know, Chine is currently still carrying out very strict regulations on cryptocurrency in its country, I don't know whether their reasons for reducing fraud with cryptocurrency or want payment with money to be safer, or even they want to make cryptocurrency themselves

if the choice is only China and USA, I will choose USA, seeing the track record of China, which several times banned crypto especially bitcoin makes people doubt about this. USA will probably be the first among the two of them, but not in the near future, because they are currently focused on their country's currency (dollars) which continues to strengthen every month. seeing the trade war between the two countries, even though USA was the first to legalize crypto, if it had a positive impact, I was sure that China would soon legalize crypto.

The US government already allow the use of Bitcoin currency and China is not finish of regulating it therefore i could say too that US is the most friendly in talking if Crypto currency between these two powerful country. Here is the link for our common understanding of which countries in favor of Bitcoin or not https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Legal_status_of_bitcoin_(new).png.

Well I think it was China if the China legalized it in their country it will have a big impact in the market because one of the big investor is came from China they are one of the group that has a huge amount of bitcoin hold or let say almost half of bitcoin was there in their country although they not legalized it and as far as I know bitcoin was not ban in their country just the ICO.

Maybe the first who really legalize bitcoin is the US because I heard some news who banning bitcoin will not good. But I hope more country will legalize bitcoin so we can pump again bitcoin.  No more country ban bitcoin but they will leglize, accept and adapt bitcoin to have more investor of bitcoin to pimp again the value.

Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency so it's hard to see any government for that matter legalizing it or claiming sole rights to it.

China will make their own cryptocurrency first then accept BTC

This Is Promissing Project
in my opinion, the first time is America, because the majority of the population there on average are familiar with digital currencies, and even lower-class people are already taking what bitcoin is. Whereas in China I am not too sure about it ... !!

America will be the first country to accept Bitcoin because this is a very developed country and Donald Trump is a smart guy, so he will choose the best things to help him achieve his desire. China is a difficult country to open up to investors, and in particular, China has many bans on Bitcoin and Crypto.

Well many in here are saying that the U.S. will surely be first in regulating bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, But I really think neither of the two will be regulating any crypto, for now, We can not tell if what's ahead in the future and both have a qualification in doing the same thing, What if both countries will regulated bitcoin at the same time? or another country will be regulated first, There should be Russia in the option above, We can sure learn more about Japan and its adoption for cryptocurrency regulation,

But you can go to this website to see on the list who's country and territory to legalized cryptocurrency first https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

I think China will soon be legalizing bitcoin in the future. I realize that there are many bitcoin investors coming from China although this country does not support electronic money. Many factories to exploit bitcoin are built here. From here, I see that the Chinese government may soon be legalizing bitcoin.

China is heavily cracking down on crypto's since last year. China's PBoC doesn't want crypto to take off because of its non-regulated and decentralization. So I have no doubt that legalization is not on the horizon. As far as the US though, they're very careful on issuing regulations as they also afraid of bitcoins pseudo-anonymity. Personally though I think US will at least regulate in the future as we have seen positive statement from SEC Chairman Jay Clayton.

A preview of past events as well as personal opinion, China is the most likely to legalize bitcoin first. Considering the China people enthusiasm towards cryptocurrency, China have all it takes to legalize Bitcoin first. Despite China government/bank ban on ICOs, they are the most likely. In the near future, if they are able to sort things out properly, it could be legalized. I think China have more cryptocurrency platforms than US at least prior to government stringent policy.

It won't be China because that is a communist country where they never want the decentralization in anything then how they will allow decentralized bitcoin into their system but they maybe better in new technologies so they will create new currency for themselves or they will just go with NEO.

I think US will be the first to legalize cryptocurrency specially bitcoin because they are already aware about it and planning to do so. US are now asking permit to operate for every cryptocurrency related business. China is a big county in terms of economic and commercialism but they are not so fast to adopt new technology related in digital currency.

This is a very interesting question. The conflict between these giants is growing every day. I heard that bitcoin was prohibited in China, its mining, and with it all cryptography. But in America, Bitcoin was already taxed. And they are trying to master the technology. By this I put on America)))
