IT ASISSTANT
Report To: IT Manager
i) Role.
Provide end user hardware and software support to all users within the business, to a standard required by the BSBG company handbook including the required level of information, presentation and documentation control.
ii) Responsibilities.
a. Administration
• Create and administer Active Directory and MS Exchange user profiles.
• Maintain and administer File and Print servers.
• Maintain and operate Disaster Recovery schedule.
• Create users and administer IMS system and Intranet.
• Maintain and administer IT Asset management suite.
• Maintain and administer IT Call Management software.
• Administer remote user VPN client software.
b. Software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Autodesk Package, including AutoCad and Revit.
• Adobe CS Suites.
• Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Bentley Staad Pro
• SAFE
• Microsoft Office packages.
• Sophos anti-virus.
• Sage 50.
• Union Square.
• Windows OS (Server 2k3, 2k8, XP, 7 &

c. Hardware installation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Build, deploy and maintain user workstations according to defined standard build requirements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot server estate.
• Maintain and troubleshoot TCP/IP network hardware.
• Maintain and troubleshoot SAN environment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network printers and plotters.
d. Management.
• Manage own time and assist colleagues and senior staff when time allows.
• Manage IT Call Management system with effective communication and timely SLA based responses.
• Manage 3rd party suppliers, ISPs and service centres.
e. Communication
• Must maintain constant communication with team members to ensure IT Service is always available.
• Utilise IT Call Management system to communicate with users to provide updates.
f. Documentation.
• Create knowledge base articles to document each solution.
• Update Asset Management suite during hardware moves and changes.
• Fill out timesheets by the close of business at the end of the working week.
g. Quality assurance
• Ensure all SLAs are met to the correct standard and on time.
• Assist the IT Manager with IT Projects.
• Be proactive and suggest improvements or amendments required to the systems.
• Ensure any documentation produced is per company standards.
h. Qualifications
• Cisco CCNA
• Microsoft MCSE/MCITP.
• ITIL v3.
• Vendor specific qualifications are extremely beneficial.
iii) Experiences and Qualifications.
a. Qualifications
• Cisco CCNA
• Microsoft MCSE/MCITP preferred will consider highly capable MCPs.
• ITIL v3.
• Vendor specific qualifications are extremely beneficial.
b. Qualifications
• Must have experience managing 3rd party suppliers, ISPs and service centres.
• Must have experience with and can demonstrate the ability to provide ITILv3 based IT support to 100+ users.
• Must have experience in installing, configuring and supporting the software and hardware detailed in Sections B & C of this document.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as an IT Professional.
• 3 years experience in Dubai is preferred but not essential.
