I believe that holding bitcoin is also a way of bitcoin usage. Many people buy bitcoin just to hold for long term. So, different people find different usage from bitcoin. I too prefer holding bitcoin for long term.

Well my bitcoin are just saved and no actual usage of it to something. This is my side earnings. All my expenses came from my real life job salary so my bitcoin are just in my wallet and it better to have some savings for emergency purposes in the future.

Same. I'm trying to save as much Bitcoin as I can, since I have the feeling that it will become much more valuable than what it is right now within a couple of years from now. Bitcoin is a great cryptocurrency to save for the long term, not only because it serves as an emergency funding for unexpected situations in the future, but also because it will leave you with more money than you've ever imagined.

I think that most of us Bitcoiners, would hodl our coins instead of using it for our daily purchases. While it's often good to buy stuff with your Bitcoin, it would be best to do so with fiat instead and save your BTC for the future. Before you know it, you'll be able to make good profits that would multiply your capital at a faster rate than a bank's savings account.

As for me, I rarely use Bitcoin for purchases online nowadays, since I want to acquire more of it for saving in the future. Maybe, when Bitcoin reaches $20,000 and above, I would become a millionaire just by hodling into my coins for a very long time. Despite all of this, Bitcoin can be used for nearly anything you could imagine. You would just have to use it wisely, by spending less coins than what you earn. Smiley

Bitcoin has two main goals:
1) Short-term investment with hyper-profitability.
2) The ability to hide their income from the government and the tax police.

I am very attracted to bitcoin technology and I see it as excellent prospects, so I prefer to have it now, while the price allows you to buy it.

This is a great poll! The options seem comprehensive enough. Full of choices, better choices. As for me, the largest portion of my Bitcoin holdings serves as an investment, to be honest. That means, in general, Bitcoin is mainly for wealth acquisition. But I am also using Bitcoin for online payments. Most of these payments are related to my bills: electric and water bills, phone bills, and credit card bills. Some are also converted into fiat. Others are used for buying some altcoins and buying coins offered in ICOs.

I used my bitcoin only for investment and saving, because in my country you can't
pay or buy something using bitcoin so we have no other option but to invest it, I'm not fun also in online shopping that's why I don't do any of those. Also my bitcoin is not that much to buy something interesting so I save it for later purposes.

I use bitcoin for trading purposes. I just buy bitcoin then hold it in a long period of time. Once I've become satisfied to the possible income that I may get,
I will now convert it into peso. But if it is stable from being down in the market, I just hold it and wait patiently.

I think its not that much of a surprise that people are using bitcoin for speculation and investment, this is the number one use for bitcoin at the moment. It would be nice if people used it more as a currency to buy things with but so far there are many sellers that do not accept it.

To be honest, I fail to use Bitcoin as a payment system as we don't have merchants accepting Bitcoin in my city and there limited options available online so I have to cash out Bitcoins in order to spend which is against the core concept of Bitcoin. We need to improve the market environment on the merchant side along with the growth of user base to make it worthy. On the other hand, we also have to find the concrete solution for the high cost and time for the transaction, especially in the case of microtransactions.

Do you use Bitcoin at least once a month? What do you actually use it for? Why? Is it better, cheaper, faster, more convenient than alternatives? Is it the only option?

If those 120.000+ daily transactions are actually real, there must be thousands of Bitcoin users active every day. What are we actually using Bitcoin for? Are we just true believers or are there real reasons to use Bitcoin instead of other available options?

I figure it's about time that we have a clearer picture of actual Bitcoin use cases. Sure, in a year or two the picture will probably change completely, but it's useful info right now for anyone interested in growing our community.

Please answer in as much detail as possible!
I use Bitcoin for trading activities or transfers to my fellow Bitcoin community. In my country paying something with Bitcoin is illegal. And I think for now Bitcoin is no more practical than a debit card.

So far I only use bitcoin as an investment and do trade with bitcoin. To be honest I have never tried using bitcoin as a means of payment and I want to shop with bitcoin, unfortunately the government in my country forbade it. Huh
