Why use Coinbase as an only option?  It would be better to have lots of option so that it will be more difficult tracking you transaction.  But if you ask me I would rather use the mixing services like bitmixer, bitblender and other legit services since they are actually for that kind of stuff.  You may pay a bit extra but that won't cost you that much.  Besides you only need to send your BTC once and the mixing service provider will send it to the designated address.

I don't think there's any significant send limit, or I can't find it anyway.

The chance of Coinbase freezing your account for potentially manipulating them is well above nothing.  Then again, if you're only leaving the Bitcoin for one transaction in there at a time, it's probably worth it anyway.  I doubt that it's easy for anyone except Coinbase and governments to track your transaction history.

Poloniex still seems like a more reliable option though, especially since they're solely an exchange so they have no fees (I think Coinbase introduced some recently).

I'd say Coinbase would be very attuned to weird behaviour. Your average exchange won't give a shit where Coinbase might. There are far less anal options that can do the exact same thing.

Nothing shady whatsover, just looking to maintain my privacy.  I don't mind Coinbase knowing my transaction history, but not every person I send BTC to.

I know I can use Poloniex as a mixer to prevent anyone I send BTC to from knowing all of my transaction history but the BTC withdrawal limits there can be a problem.  Can Coinbase be used as a mixer in the same way and is there a limit on BTC sends at Coinbase?  I know there is a buy/sell limit there but I can't find anything about a send limit.

Make an anonymous account on BTC-e and use that. Never know who coinbase might share your info with.

Using Coinbase as a mixer implies you might be doing things with coins that'll inspire them to freeze you anyway. If it's purely just to break the traceable chain I'd be looking at places that are less uptight just in case. I'd be doing it properly with Bitmixer myself.

Do any exchanges link deposits to withdrawals?  Or they all send deposits to a communal wallet?

Does Coinbase have any limit on sends?

On Poloniex at least I've had the same deposit address all the way through which is individual. The outputs haven't been linked to it. Dunno about Coinbase limits.

You could in theory, but I wouldn't advise it.  You'd be better off just putting your coins through a trusted mixer regularly and then sending it from your own address - you really don't need to do much more than that, especially with Coinbase who have been known to freeze accounts at a moment's notice for any kind of suspicious activity.

You can use any exchange as a mixer, provided that you don't register with your full name and never deposit or withdraw fiat. It's not as good as using a dedicated mixer and you have to watch out for sudden dumps, but should work. The limits are usually quite high so it shouldn't bother you unless you're trying to mix some big money.
