Good idea digging deeper to root out a possible offshoot of this person's, I use the term loosely, scam.

The current price drop just adds insult, after buying the coins for this deal, but I would have been hit anyways as I was buying most of them for my hopeful Canaan order.

The bright side atleast his profit dropped a little as well.

I got a pm from ariesIV10  he will not be able to open and check his  wallet so   I will do your refund now.

That's understandable, I don't mind waiting, I just got off a night shift and can hold off sleep for a little while.

The returning of shipping was a big one that, put me at ease, and I could easily see how they would have been able to milk a few more people through pm's. Lesson learned, thanks for making sure it wasn't the hard way for us.

Yeah  I have  a set of pms from a 'buyer' of  2 of the 2 s7's

I have yet to decide if he was a victim or the scammer.. I am  going to put  the pm's in this thread  after the three refunds are done.

here is the escrow addy funds are intact

yeah I saw the refund  clever on the scammer.

But in reviewing this  I learned something else.

He could of shipped  fast to the two smaller buyers (empty boxes)

which would have looked good. then even smarter he could have fully refunded ariesIV10 claiming some issue.

but looking honest doing that refund.  At this point he could have offered to blow out the 20 s7's  and grabbed  600  or more in shipping

I am reviewing dhl shipments I have received to see if they have weights. In the tracking info.

And to make matters worse  I have a set of pms claiming they sent in shipping for 2 s7s.

They never posted in the thread. I suspect it could be the op the scammer himself trying to squeeze a shipping refund from me.

Once I square away the refunds  I will post his pms here.

Actually have to say this was a more unique scam. In a few ways.

@ AriesIV10

you have a  few confirms  on the test refund  please post here to let us know you received it.

I am trying to speed refunds up  a little early

and ariesIV10  has a lot owed him.  So I am doing his first.

This is why we have escrow - Especially philipma1957!

Thank you philipma1957!

I was wondering when you overpayed in shipping did the "seller" reimburse you that amount?

I just found it weird that seemed to be something that I thought to myself, a scammer wouldn't do. I guess he was playing the long game hoping maybe someone would bypass Escrow or something.

Thanks again philipma1957, I really appreciate you offering to reimburse us our shipping, that is a stand up gesture that goes above and beyond. Maybe one day we'll actually get to see the end of a good deal lol.
On a side note I really liked your setup for moving the air flow around your mine.

No, I did not get the over payment reimbursed.  Thanks to escrow through philipma1957 we were saved A LOT of money!

As to the reply by BenRickert, Don't stress about it.  What goes around comes around.

In reviewing  the  info the  seller did a send of 0.07 to your refund address from the shipping address

transaction

sellers shipping address

I am sure it was missed.

But phil must of seen it.

I am doing your refund once wallet synchs:

this is your refund addy

1QAg5ARw7yszJot6nSZxzumcW7uYDSEre5

two deals:

7200   =  1.6366  sellers price
  108   =  0.0242  my fee
tx fees =  0.0010

total =  1.6618  to btc addy

you get   1.6366 back

4 units =  7000 usd      = 1.58000 btc
my fee =    105 usd      = 0.023700
tx fees                         = 0.00100 btc

you get 1.58 back

so

1.6366
1.5800

3.2166 to

1QAg5ARw7yszJot6nSZxzumcW7uYDSEre5

I have you at .028 sent for shipping

so add

3.2166
0.0280

3.2446  total refund

Most forums have restrictions on newbie accounts about creating new topics. I understand limiting the number of posts per hour to reduce bot spam. A similar restriction for new accounts would do everyone some good. I cant think of any real benefit  in allowing such freedom. I know for a fact that the Indian subsection is full of newbie accounts selling their 30+ orders of D3 and shit that just arrived hot off the airport! Of course there is a 10% booking fee to show that you are serious and the rest 90% you can give when you come to collect the miner.  Roll Eyes

Anyone who creates a new account to sell something is an obvious scammer. The logic is flawed on so many levels! A successful sale is a positive thing for that account. It makes it credible. If you are friends with a shop / service provider who gives you perks and discounts because of a positive history, the last thing you do is go into that shop with a mask. The only reason you would want do that is to rob them and not be identified later.

The idea of owning mining equipments / rigs and not having an BCT account is just plain ridiculous. That's like trying to find a crypto dev who is not on github. They just don't exist. They are unicorns. And if they do, the last place they are going to stumble on is BCT for selling their gear. The marketplace here is pretty much non existent when it comes to search results and SEO.

Any word from the "seller" as it is now past 8pm throughout Europe.

Nay it looks like he is gone.  still 270 loss is better then 18000 loss.

and a new style of con has been taught to me.

It does mean something as sometimes I do a large deal with 1000 or 2000 in shipping fees.

So if a seller said please allow me access to shipping fees early as it is a hardship to lay fees out from now on it will be a now go.

I will pay out refunds to the escrowed buyers on thurs at 3:00pm  Eastern Standard time

that would be

steamtyme  - 1 piece

marazanna  - 1 piece

AriesIV10    - 8 pieces
