I was asked to give an opinion on the coin mentioned in the OP.

It looks like it is genuine however there are some variations on the coin that would want me to take a closer look. The image blurs a bit on closeup.
The year 2012 has variations that needs to be looked at closer. That being said I really cannot give a definite answer without a clearer picture.

I think that these coins are not fake.

Check out some photos of legitimate 2012 Cas coins:

they can be real, he might have them , but sure as hell, he is not going to send you shit. !

Agree -- except that I think he doesn't even have them.
Anyway, this thread is about those coins being fake, which I don't think they are. It's one thing to have scammers around "selling" coins, but a whole different thing when they are in possession of very convincing fakes. It would be great if we'd get more opinions about legitimacy of that coin. I don't see anything in the pic to call it a fake..

It looks like the user doesn't care about his reputation as he still continues to sell various goods and some kind of service where he verifies your instagram account, all his posts are locked however it seems like he doesn't want anyone posting that he is a scammer or something to avoid any further damage from his potential trades.

Most of the "long time" and serial scammers do not care about their reputation because they prey on new users who find their scams on Google search. They do not register and can't see the scammers (lack of) trust ratings which can only be seen if you are logged in.  That's why they use Skype, Telegram and all the other "off-site" ways to scam.

The thread is still there. I guess the mods need to delete it before any innocent user make the mistake to buy from him. Also the non-registered users can easily get fooled as the trust are not visible in public.
This user already got tagged. If still anyone make any deals with him than its their own risk. I hope moderators will put their eyes soon and post will be deleted.

This presents a good argument for non-registered users to be able to view trust.

Yes, I have brought this up in this thread as well - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/viewing-trust-when-not-logged-in-5100111

Indeed, it seems he doesn't care about getting negative trust.
Hi began with auto-buy links on locked threads and has scammed more than one guests (he has negative trust left by brand new accounts, apparently registered just for leaving the negative trust after being scammed). His victims seems to be non-registered users who can't see all that negative trust.

Only ones hurting from that would be one who are not cautious or neglect warnings. Eitherway they still can operate from bought accounts so it's better to be cautious and always keep yourself on safer sider by using escrow.

If he doesn't want anyone to comment on his thread than its pretty much clear mate. Its the way he wants buyers directly to his telegram. The fact is why did he wants to make the topic locked for discussion. Its also concerning that he already got multiple red trust on his profile.

Yeah its true that users may fall for his trap easily. I wish moderators will check this soon and take decission what to do or not.

I am not sure to post this topic in Reputation or Scam accusations. I hope a mod will decide.

Hi,

Im selling my last casas coin.

Images of the coin : https://imgur.com/a/eT3boZG

Here is the Casascius 1BTC from 2012, still fully funded. https://casascius.uberbills.com/?address=1CC2kmVzUqARtMdwqk47rMn2pAFYhV9g34

Willing to use escrow (Bitrated.com) and courier for Asia and US. I am UK based so major EU cities and UK for delivery in person is no problem (I like holidays). Courier and escrow to be paid by purchaser. WILL NOT SHIP TO INDIA. We can find another solution, hopefully.

Price 1.2BTC

Many Thanks

I wanted to comment on the topic but found the topic was locked. I could skip but I think a topic needed for awareness also the topic created by that user, should be deleted. Otherwise ignorant users may fall for this trap.

I did some investigations of the picture provided and can conclude that the coin is fake. The user knows it so he locked the topic. He does not want anyone to comment there which is clear.

Finally, I hope this explains everything:

Thanks deserved by krogothmanhattan for his nice topic: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/beware-of-fake-casascius-coins-3257048

Cheers :-)
