When I used to do analysis rather frequently back in the day, I looked at the Merit per post ratio, and one of the difficulties in compiling or interpreting the data is the fact that quite a few accounts had many posts created before the introduction of the Merit System, which normally would drag down their result (except for the likes of Hal, Satoshi, Laszlo and so forth). Other less prominent long-standing accounts will have a lower ratio due to their pre-Merit System posting backlog, when comparted to accounts born into the Merit System.
To a certain degree, an ideal criteria would more or less play around with the post count at the time the Merit System kicked-off, and device how to use that in the calculus (i.e. if an account is pre-Merit System, but posted mostly/largely after it kicked-off, consider the post count at the time the Merit System kicked-off, and not the total number of posts).
Another interesting variation, subject to the same problematic as the one said above, is to calculate the percentage of merited posts, which gives a sense of broadness to the merit/post ratio. This is the data for the top 100 (earned) Merited profiles as of last Friday:
