Sometimes im bored at my job and I want to play a quick round of poker, slots or dice. Is there any problem in setting an account with Tor and sending your BTC there and playing?

A problem may be that a tor exit node takes your bitcoin with a scam site that looks like the gambling site.
That's what HTTPS certificates are for. When browsing using Tor, always ensure that there is HTTPS or the exit node will be able to see all the data.

I know for a fact that Primedice allows you to run Tor... I used to play there a lot, but as of right now I don't go on there as much and try to divert to some other gambling sites to see what they are all about. I just feel a lot more comfortable gambling through Tor because I'm US based, and that causes a whole load of problems once the site recognizes the IP is from the U.S.

I don't understand why anyone is having any problem with this, for example this site (i never play in here but just for example)

https://bitcoinvideocasino.com/videopoker

Check that is https and that's about it, and you dont even need an account, just send your btc and you are already playing. You need to enable javascript tho, which can lead to some exploit, but you are exposed to that with normal browser too, and to be honest i dont think most people here is having to have any relevant money being lost since at least me i play for fun with 5 dollars or something so who cares. In any case nothing is going to happen.

You can get problem using tor with slow internet connectivity.
I recommed to use normal browser than using a tor.. But if you want to be anonymous
And to make your bitcoin safe. use tor and take a slow connectivity..
You may also try vpn for fastest browsing and to be anonymous..

some people use tor to be hidden from online tracks and avoid blocks

Usually not. There are some site which not track the ip. Otherwise there could be conflicts if several users are gambling with the same ip.

You can gamble with TOR browser on cloudbet and anonibet.
I asked the anonibet support about this problem and I get this respond "is ok to play with tor",also on cloudbet.

Have you tried it? Are there no connection problems. Tor is significantly slower from a normal connection.

I wasn't thinking about speed or getting banned. It was think more on the lines of security. Would it be possible for a tor node to inject code onto the page and steal my coins? It was possible before with online bitcoin wallets, why not gambling sites too?
Tor nodes are able to inject code onto pages, but not https pages. Thats why you look for these pages to gamble. Dont use tor sites (.onion) - nobody knows who is the owner and he could easily steal bitcoins and no one can do anything about it.

Well I don't gamble that much I am also not planing to use tor with gambling is just not that safe.
I just prefer the browser that I really know how to use.
I never knew about tor untill now, but is weird how much illegals things you can do with tor.

SSL is generally very safe unless there is a 0 day vulnerability like heartbleed. However, there exist a technique called SSLStrip which makes the user go to a unsecured website. If a user doesn't check the front for SSL security, they are at risk. The best way to prevent these kind of attacks is to use an onion link for the gambling site. Just be wary of phishing links too.

You don't need to set an account with TOR.Just install the browser and you're good to go.Btw you don't need tor at all if you can use any good VPN like openVpn https://openvpn.net/Configuring this VPN is bit of a hassle but after successful installation you're good to go.I have used it in my college to download videos and stuff when most of the websites were blocked.Good thing is ,it even bypasses complex CyberRoams and its untraceable.

I've seen people get banned as well for connecting through Tor. You would have to find out which sites allow it ahead of time. You can't play on your cell phone during downtime?

I guess he doesn't have his own hotspot or router for his internet; the company can look through his browser history if his cell phone is connected to the company wifi.

OP, I don't recommend gambling at work, but if you really want to, do what others have said. You'll have to buy your own hotspot/router though if you want to be completely safe.

Wait what? They can take a look to our browser history?
Is it against our privacy? Isnt it? Using tor make our browsing history not stored so its safer to use tor.

A couple of sites don't let you use tor, but you can play from a tor browser on the most if you don't mind the high latency... but at least you will have enough time to think over or think again your next bet Wink.

I've tried this as well and it didn't work out.
Tor is good for certain things on the internet but it's not my preferred browser. It's just really slow for me.

I've noticed that whenever I'm using tor everything works 100 times slower than usual, I wouldn't recommend it if you're going to gamble online.
It's a pain the ass to keep on waiting for a page to load.

As far as i know alot of sites ban tor as its been used in the pass to abuse sites and evade IP bans and whatnot.
I can understand from a site owners perspective why they would not allow tor. It's also terribly slow.

You might have better luck luck just using a regular old proxy and visiting the gambling sites you are use that way.
Use of tor likely flags your system for the NSA to watch as well.. It is govt technology afterall./

Some gambling sites might ban you and freeze your funds but other than that your main concern should be becoming a victim of MITM attack. This was discussed in another thread in this same section a while back when players from some countries were restricted to play by certain casinos.

This is the thread: [PSA] Bitcoin Gambling SSL Security

Read it and follow its suggestion to avoid losing your funds due to MITM attack.

Same problem on my work. But I have tablet and my own internet, so they cant do nothing about it. But sometims my mobile internet works slow that is only flaw. So why risking anything when u can buy some good tablet and play as much as u wish without thinking on what can get wrong.

Tor with HTTPS is generally quite safe if the site setup the HTTPS properly. SSLStrip is a potential problem, just ensure that you are on HTTPS all the time. Some companies workplace can block Tor entry node, not sure if that's the case for you.
