ah, so you are talking about building a rig with just 1 GPU on it?  (as opposed to 5 or 6?)

Since you are new to mining, I would HIGHLY recommend going the Nvidia route.  I have mined with both and Nvidia is BY FAR more user friendly and easy to use than AMD cards, esp the Vega's.  right out of the box the Nvidia will always be better... the only way you can get AMD cards performing as well or better is to do a bunch of tweaking and even then, they usually have stability issues.

First choice should be 1070ti as those are better on ETHash than 1080 & 80ti.  2nd choice probably 1080, then 70, then 80ti... assuming prices are somewhat normal for all.

Dont buy ANYTHING with prices as stupid as they are now.
That price is twice what it was which means you are going to have to mine twice as long as you should to even start making money. Long enough in fact that GPU prices will probably go back down and you are going to regret ever getting into mining.
New stocks of GPU look like coming online during February.
Nvidia has started a scheme that should allow ordinary customers, miners or gamers (not 1000+ GPU farms)to buy one or two cards directly at more realistic prices.
Sit tight.
See if it happens.

I've been able to get a bonus of 500€ in a certain shop... so i would pay this cards 110€.
That's why i would like to JUMP on the train now..
All the things should cost max 400€ (Mobo, gpu, cpu, ram, psu, ssd)

Nicehash announces the 64 to be 15% more profitable than the 56.

You need to look at more than raw profitability, especially when you consider those numbers will be wrong by the time the card is in your hands.

Vegas are a nightmare, I personally would never buy one and warn all of my friends away from them. You should look for a 1070 Ti over the 1080. This gives you maximum flexibility going forward.

Can't you upgrade your Vega 56 into a 64 with a BIOS flashing? In that case, you should benchmark the nvidia against the Vega 64...

According to whattomine their are pretty much the same in terms of earnings..

Vega is outstanding at Cryptonight, very good at Ethash, and piss-poor at pretty much everything else. If you plan to do any Equihash, Neoscrypt or, especially, Lyra2v2 mining then get the 1080.

I really don't know which one i should buy.. According to whattomine i should instantly take vega56, according to nicehash gtx 1080.
I've read of troubles about vega56. But i don't know if that's a standard thing for each card or not.

I'm confused Huh

I don't have a Vega card for myself so I don't have any experience with them. You can check this thread out - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/amd-vega-56-64-frontier-mining-hashrate-setup-3-month-roi-or-less-2710746

In a vacuum the Vega is strictly a better mining card. In a head to head comparison I'd always take the Vega. You should take into account that they can be a pain to configure and users here have reported several issues with crashes. If you're willing to do the extra work you'll get better rewards from Vega.

This thing of crashes on Vega really scary me. I've just read 10-15 posts on google..  It would be nice to know more about some Vega users.. Does everyone have problems?

Whattomine usually inflates profitability a little bit. I'd probably go with the 1080 for actual earnings or peruse a different mining profitability calculator to see what you'd get on a selected algo if you're not going to mine with Nicehash. Remember you want to mine on an alt with the highest average profitability if you're mining outside of Nicehash. Don't pick a coin that spikes in profitability temporarily.

I can get both at the same price, 610€ each one.
Which one should i choose? - According to whattomine, Vega56 makes 2$ more than Gtx1080, but when i look at the nicehash calculator this things are upside down, gtx 1080 makes better than vega56.
Which one do you suggest? What makes more money ?
Thank you
