@vertcoin:
The GPU miner link on the main thread is broken: https://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer-0.5.3.zip

Anyway, there's no further optimization being worked on the vertminer? There's no new version in months.
FYI, the x11/x13/x15 miner recently got improved again, and got even better with the recent ati 14.6 rc2 driver.
Here's hoping maybe scryptn can also be improved somehow.  Grin

The Scrypt kernel is fairly mature at this point since it had over a year of development. Scrypt-N is basically just Scrypt with a bigger memory requirement. X11 however, was sorely unoptimized in the first place, hence the lower power usage.

Can somebody please explain me how many watts a Radeon R9 (an example) is used when mining vertcoins? I want to know if it's a good choice to buy a graphic card, instead of buying an ASIC to mine SHA256/scrypt. I'm newbie in this one.

A computer usually consumes ~300W, right? And adding a powerful graphic card, wouldn't that make me waste more with electricity bill, than profiting mining it? I pay around $0.20 where I live, by the way.

Thanks in advance!

Okay, I have a couple questions, but first some background. I have sent a test Stealth Transaction to another wallet. I used the big 102 character Stealth Address, and while it took a bit longer than a regular transaction, I can now see the transaction on the public block chain. Great.

Now, how do I actually receive the funds on the other end!?

I've clicked the "Import Stealth Address Transactions" many times, and it doesn't seem to do anything. And while I'm here, what does the "Reset Private Key Status" button do? I clicked it and it did the same as the Import Stealth Address Transactions button as far as I can see, which is to say it did nothing. There should be a manual for this stuff, or at least a "How To...", but I'll be darned if I can find it!

At this point, what's the time frame for a Stealth Transaction to fully confirm, or is there such a thing? If I can see the transaction on the block chain, it ought to be available to import, right? We also need some form of indicator that something has happened, and it wouldn't hurt to have a tool tip on the buttons telling users what they're for. As it stands, my 5.3xxx VTC transaction is on the block chain but not in the target wallet. Hmmm....

POOL AND P2POOL NODE OPERATORS SHOULD ALSO UPDATE TO THE NEW MON WALLET SO THEY CAN MINE SX TRANSACTIONS. SX INTRODUCTION IS NOT HARDFORKING, BUT SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH SINCE IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET AS MANY NODES AND MINERS UPDATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

done. good work folks

Vertcoin | Stealth Address | Release

Vertans,
The moment you have all been waiting patiently for has arrived. Tonight, we are proud to present to you Stealth Addresses on the Vertcoin Mainnet!

This is the culmination of months of hard work - the kind of hard work that leaves your brain fried and your fingers cramped by the end of the day.

Vertcoin's Stealth Address implementation is yet another, better reason to adopt Vertcoin as your choice payment method for business or personal use. Business users may have worried anonymous payments would prove too litigious to be practical; Personal users may have worried about the integrity of payments with full anonymity. Now both can rest assured because the privacy Vertcoin's Stealth Addresses provide are right in line with what we would all expect from a world class coin.

[dot] = .

NOTE - UNTIL A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF NODES HAVE UPDATED, SX TRANSACTIONS MAY NOT BE RELAYED, SO DO NOT SEND LARGE AMOUNTS OF VERT IN STEALTH TRANSACTIONS YET, AS THOSE TRANSACTIONS MAY TAKE A LONG TIME TO MAKE IT INTO A BLOCK AS THE NETWORK UPDATES.

Don't be shy! Let's get the word out and make Vertans out of everyone we meet or talk to Cheesy

Cheers,
bushido

Thanks Erik, Adam and Boris

This is only the beginning...

Advise needed.

I mined some BTC but I never bought any.

I would like to invest in BTC to exchange them for VTC.

Leaving in Southern Europe (EUR).

What would be the best and easy way to buy some BTC? Paypal would be great, but far as I know, only virwox.com allows that, but ridiculous high fees.

Any idea/advise?

Thanks in advance.

BTC-E or Bittylicious. Bittylicious now accept credit cards from EUR as well as SEPA I think. Not sure on fees though

While this is not the BTC trade forum, my suggestion would be to use kraken.com. You can use SEPA EU money transfer to them.

Why Devs not take a few hours to write a mini-white paper and post it in the OP...
Instead of allowing shills from competing coins to label it just another "mixer".

as far as I know is preparing a brand new website with a new look complete with many explanations and news about VTC and  First Stealth Address

many people still do not know what they are VertCoin Stealth Address

If any found in the entire forum posts to VertCoin Stealth Address

please explain to them what's going on because they mislead others with their opinions

they do not even know how to spell Vertcoin (VTC)

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7625384

ppl still are fooled by sever anonymity/tweeting promo trick coin

when real SX feature comes,  ppl hesitate

From the above post... "my resources about stealth addresses so far":

Bitcoin links to the first one...
Peter Todd is a top Bitcoin developer you can see his posts here and on reddit...
DarkWallet externalized this tech... VTC internalized it.

It should be a game-changer, because for any reasonable, non-criminal use... it's "good enough".

Considering it's closed-source...
